It's a shame that a reel like this doesn't have gears (mainly gears) Brass or stainless steel internals. I thought these gears were very resistant.

I went with the extra stiff Grappler and don’t recommend it. It’s too stiff and doesn’t give much parabolic help when fighting big fish.

I can’t say for sure on how much line it will take because it depends on your size poundage. I like 30lb braid for an all purpose line though.
