I’ve been where you’re at brother. It does get better. Sounds like you’re moving your life in the right direction. If didn’t think you were good enough he wouldn’t have picked you. Eric. First, Jesus picked several fishermen for his first 12 followers, so he is used to the likes of us. Second, he literally reached down and grabbed Peter out of a drowning situation, the first of many more men to be grabbed and saved by the Lord. This is Holy Week. On Friday we remember what Jesus did for us, covering and wiping out our sin in himself. On Sunday, we remember and celebrate that He is first among those risen from the dead. In His grace, our personal failures and sins are covered. In His grace we follow the Gospel that offers a second chance and more for this life. "I have come that you might have life in all its fullness." John 10:10. Serve on brother. Jesus has plans for you.

Watching this video got me to subscribe. First time I’ve seen your channel and came across this video. Looks I’m subscriber 4000. I’ll be down last week of May for vacation and taking my girls fishing. God Bless brother. Hope the new channel is a success. It’s been a difficult year for me with my health and marriage. I found out about you fishing Channel 2 days ago... The whole reason why I was wanting to start fishing was because I too am recovering from a break up and a pornography addiction. I was wanting to start new hobbies I always enjoyed it at about 13-14, my dad never really enjoyed it he always thought if I want fish I'll buy it. I was on Facebook market place looking for second hand reels and rods and there was a decently priced one Shimano Nasci 4000 xg gen 1. That's how u stumbled across your RUclips vids. I'm muslim and I find what you're saying is very relatable. I hope to overcome my inner demons. I almost feel like it's destiny that I discovered this video. Keep well bud!
Hey buddy, thank you so much for taking the time to type this out and let me know. We are all going through things, silently, and my goal is to be relatable with others that share a love for the same outdoor environment that I do. I am glad fishing has helped fill that void and I admit, it is my sanity on a lot of days. It is the ultimate release to forget the rest of the world and enjoy a little bit of what God has gifted us in creation. I hope you enjoy that reel and have many fun filled days of slaying fish with it!

Needed this man. I'm I'm the trenches lowest point of my life right now I've been battling drug addiction and right now my withdrawal is so bad from tapering and I am not seeing light at the End of the tunnel. It's is awful and sheer agony. I literally was in bed all day not eating no energy to move mental and physical. Have relapsed 4+ times. I feel like I can't fight as I've been through this cycle multiple times and it was self medication. I lost everything my job, 200 to 170lbs all lean muscle lost. I'm 22 years old and feel like my life is over. Was having the thought of ending it and yourvid popped up. You really helped me today man, my drug issues started after I completely walked away from God and drug issues started to treat anxiety,depression and m trauma from childhood events. Tapering off of Subxone and it's horror anxiety and feeling of doom really hope i can stay sober after this
Hey Joshua, thanks so much for watching the video above and I hope that you found your way over to my first bible study video where it talks about what God wants from us. I think that this is an opportunity to endure with him and then turn around and use it to help other folks who are struggling with the same issues. I'd be lying if I said I could relate to what you are going through but what I can say is that God needs people like you to connect with other folks who can't seem to shake the constant push and pull of drug addiction. Your life is just beginning buddy and at 22, you are just getting started. Imagine how many 22 year olds you can help once you finally shake this last bout of detox. Will it be easy? No. Will it ever go away? I don't think so. Is God the best option to move forward with purpose? He is the only way. I just ask that you make it to Friday. I am recording my next one tomorrow morning and you will benefit from it. Stay strong brotha.

Been there also my friend so I can relate to what you're speaking of. The good news is God has all the answers for every situation we face in life. Sometimes we go through growing pains but we're never alone as long as we have Him! Sometimes he gives me the opportunity to share him with others right here in my shop!
That's really cool that you get to have that type of conversation without it being forced. I think that is one of the reason so many people get pushed away from listening - because it's not given with the right approach. I appreciate you and completely agree.

Eric, thanks for sharing! I just found your fishing channel as I am about 2 months into starting my fishing channel and found your video you posted when you first were monitized as I was looking for what other new fishing channels were experiencing. I subscribed to that channel and just saw this post. From experience I can say that we see the face of God most clearly in our darkest moments. My son was born extremely premature and had some complications and ended up with cerebral palsy and kidney failure. My wife and I have seen him almost die several times. He has been on dialysis since he was 2 and just had a kidney transplant a year ago. He is 10 now and doing well and even featured in one of my videos catching a Spanish mackerel! I don’t share this info all the time, but the video you just posted let me know you are creating something special and a safe place for people to share. If it were not for our reliance on God who formed my son and made him for a purpose, we would not have the strength or hope to carry on. So thanks for putting yourself out there, it has already made a difference !
I just subscribed. It's also super cool that y'all have made it to this point and you are able to take him out with you like that. I just watched the Spanish video and you did really well! I truly believe that we are put in situations as either a reminder or as a tool to mold us into who we need to be for the next person. In your situation with your son, you have an opportunity to reach so many other parents that are going through similar situations and give them hope that you can still lead a "normal" life. Your son kicking up on the front of the boat is a testament to that! Thank you so much for the comment and I'll be checking out your stuff !
Thanks! Yes our life has truly changed since the day he was born. My life and purpose in it has become much clearer. And incredible when we look back to before he was born and all the things God did to prepare us financially, and mentally for his arrival and subsequent daily care.
