COITADO DO BEETHOVEN, QUANDO QUIZ COMPOR ESSA MISSA, ELE PROCUROU EM TODA A CIDADE DE VIENA, BIBLIOTECAS, INSTITUIÇÕES MUSICAIS E OUTROS ÓRGÃOS CULTURAIS, PARA VER SE ENCONTRAVA O MANUSCRITO DA PRIMOROSA MISSA EM SI MENOR DE J.S. BACH, PORQUE ELE BUSCAVA NESSA CÉLEBRE OBRA, O MODELO IDEAL DE UMA OBRA CONSIDERADA COMO UMA DAS MAIS PERFEITAS DA HISTÓRIA . MAS, SUA BUSCA FOI INFRUTÍFERA, NÃO CONSEGUIU ENCONTRAR O MANUSCRITO OU A PARTITURA COPIADA DESSA GRANDE PEÇA. FICANDO SEM UM MODELO PARA SE BASEAR (NÃO DEU O DEVIDO VALOR À GRANDE MISSA EM DÓ MENOR DE MOZART, VERDADEIRA OBRA PRIMA), PORQUE BEETHOVEN NUNCA SOUBE AVALIAR A SUPERIORIDADE DA MÚSICA DE MOZART EM TODOS OS GÊNEROS. COM TODA ESSA ARROGÂNCIA, COMPÔS UMA MISSA SOLEMNIS, QUE NÃO TEM VALORES INDISPENÇAVEIS À UMA OBRA SACRA, E POR ISSO FRACASSOU. COMO PODE UMA MISSA COMPOSTA PARA A ELEVAÇÃO DE UM ARCEBISPO A CONDIÇÃO DE CARDEAL (QUE ERA AMIGO DE BEETHOVEN), TER CONTEÚDO INSPIRADO EM DEUS E TER SENTIMENTOS DE FÉ, ROBUSTA EMOÇÃO E VALOR LITÚRGICO?

BEETHOVEN JAMAIS CONSEGUIU EM SUA VIDA, COMPOR VERDADEIRA MÚSICA SACRA. SUAS OBRAS SACRAS COMO: A MISSA EM DÓ MAIOR, O ORATÓRIO "CRISTO NO MONTE DAS OLIVEIRAS" E SUA ÚLTIMA OBRA SACRA " MISSA SOLEMNIS", PROVAM QUE O GÊNERO SACRO, JAMAIS FOI SUA PRAIA OU SEU CAMINHO. AO CONTRÁRIO, SÃO PEÇAS MAL SUCEDIDAS ONDE SE NOTA CLARAMENTE SUA INCAPACIDADE DE IMPREGNAR TAIS OBRAS COM GENUÍNO FERVOR RELIGIOSO, SENTIMENTOS SUBLIMES OU COMPREENÇÃO DO QUE É INSPIRAÇÃO DIVINA. SEMPRE FOI ARROGANTE, COM TOTAL AUSÊNCIA DE HUMILDADE E FÉ CRISTÃ. A SUA MISSA SOLEMNIS TEM SÓMENTE O INVÓLUCRO DE MÚSICA SACRA, MAS SEM NENHUM SINCERA E PROFUNDA FÉ CRISTÃ. BEETHOVEN ERA ESPECIALISTA EM MÚSICA SINFÔNICA, MÚSICA PARA PIANO E MÚSICA DE CÂMERA.

@@vsevsad9376 Hi. I love Sir John Eliot Gardiner. I only listen to music so I'm not interested in his character in general. Everyone says that his new ensemble is a tantrum. I don't think it's entirely true but there may be some feeling of revenge. Isn't J.E. Gardiner already very old? Isn't he already a millionaire? What do you think?

@@josefranciscoaguirrecordov6171 Hi. No matter how old or rich, JEG is a great conductor. Like, nothing's wrong with him in this video from January 2023. The performance is just mesmerizing. JEG's been doing guest conducting these days (in fact, 2night is Beethoven 9 in Bologna with Orchestra Mozart), so it means orchestras find him quite to their taste, doesn't it? Then, the musicians didn't dump him. Nobody asked their opinion. They were waiting for JEG to come back this new season. He has been in trouble with board of directors that didn't let him do it. Looks like it's money, power, sponsors, shareholders and stuff, not any moral issues or music. At least it is known that the principals you see here are joining him in the new band. And the program of Bach/Charpentier was announced a few months ago with JEG conducting. It's all on the internet, eg Slipped Disk. No clue who are these 'everybody' telling you that JEG's setting up revenge. Can they even read?

Haydn tem um estilo saltitante que não aprecio especialmente, contudo as sinfonias do período Tempestade e Paixão sempre me cativaram. Esta é uma delas, bem interpretada.

Without doubt the 2nd worst performance of the 5th I have ever heard, Norrington easily the worst. Horrible screeching sound from the violins and the wind sections have no impact whatsoever. Thank God we have a treasure trove of great recordings with proper orchestras and conductors to show how this music should really sound.

    • @krispiper3104

And how many of those troves of listening experiences you have had were done on period instruments and original speeds? Or are you just so accustomed to modern instruments and tempos that you lack the ability to appreciate authentic interpretation. I own a 200 year old flute. And I definitely can appreciate the level of skill this orchestra has to pull this off. How about you?

I know it's a "Catholic mass/liturgy", but it does resemble the cantatas of JS Bach in its form and style, especially the arias... The "Gratias" and "Qui Tolis" are something that Bach never heard, but I think he'd approve... (I can write four-part harmony well enough, I used to serve as the organist at a Lutheran church in my spare time, just because i liked the music so much, and I'd sometimes need to re-arrange the harmonies for a hymn, for the needs of the choir), but eight parts is more than I can do; it would take me more than 8 YEARS to write 8 minutes of 8-part harmony, especially without a "cantus firmus" or some preexisting thing on which to elaborate!) ... Imagine hearing this in the 1780's, as part of the most miraculous important thing in your life (Eucharist/Holy Communion), but it doesn't really sound like the Catholic music you're used to... You'd either love it or hate it. You don't have to believe in God to enjoy Mozart's "sacred music"; but, if you do, the music certainly strengthens and affirms that belief, which is exactly what it was designed to do. Mozart wasn't a "Bible Thumper", by any means, but his music is very conducive to Christian sentiment, by his own design, imo... Compare the "Kyrie" in this Mass to the "Kyrie" in the Requiem Mass... Same words, totally different moods.
