Invaders complain that they have to play on someone else's terms in their own world? That's soft as hell. 😂🤣 If you don't want to run into high level phantoms, don't invade. Its that simple. Go to the arena. Its there for pvp. If I can't complain that I don't like invaders because I'm just trying chill, then invaders have to keep that energy when it comes to high level phantoms. 🤣 Just git gud.

Glad you decided to keep making ER videos. Thanks for the informative talk here, it has helped me decide how to go forward. The last patch before the DLC introduced fps stutters (like on launch day) that haven't been fixed. Combining that with latency has made a frustrating experience into an unfun one. But channels like yours are still around to watch and feel part of the community! So keep at it. I honestly only play in seamless, even when playing by myself. Easy anticheat (or the way they implimented it) makes my game run noticeably worse, and I use a bit of cheating to give myself the more grindy things that make replaying elden ring a chore. Golden seeds, upgrade materials, all that. Ive played through this game enough to know what level i should be for what, and work too many hours to spend 6 hours gathering materials.

i dont think they have to do away with the summon signs and all of that, its just a little jank once youre already in

that last gen consoles excuse just does not stand up since I am using a pc weaker than a ps4/bone and can still play seamless invasions without issues, in fact I can only play seamless coop since EAC locks me out the base online for not having directx12.

"Everyone is the same level" I have a few notes/thoughts, while I do like Seamless (and I've tried the invasion experience as well), a lot of my experiences *being invaded* are RL 200+ and I think at that point the game kinda gives up, I've seen levels all the way up to maximum. However, seamless does seem to scale the HP of everyone during an invasion (I think a similar thing happens in DS3) I have also encountered people using cheat-engine, beyond just warping, things like making themselves invincible, but maybe it's better around the "meta" ranges, I'll have to give that a shot.

The nice thing about Fromsoft’s approach is that it feels ingrained in the world, and the free-wheeling, non-skill-based matchmaking makes each encounter feel natural and random. Every person you meet is a roll of the dice, a happenstance with no intent baked into its inner workings. Using in-world items to astrally project into another person’s world makes a weird sense because it operates solely by its own logic, and isn’t beholden to lobbies, or developer intent, or rigid multiplayer session rules. Anything that is external to the world of the game has no bearing here. The downside, of course, is that sometimes the in-world functions are poorly developed and balanced, and you get a bad spawn point against a grace-camping three man team with overleveleds spamming world-killing atom bombs, with no PvE or coinvader support. I’m happy to hear Seamless is treating the PC folks well. You guys did get the short end of the stick with the terrible performance issues, 2 minute disconnects, and baked in EAC implementation latency, so this feels earned. I hope the console folks will eventually get a taste of that weird, wonderful, unbalanced, wild, spirit summoning, Torrenting, truly seamless multiplayer someday. In a future game, maybe. Just maybe. If From finally decides to hire outside help to handle their network engineering for them.

I couldn't agree more about the Dark Art part. Part of it is of course our and the community's mounting familiarity, but there have been gradual losses in theme, presentation, and implementation as well. The gradual increase of concessions for convenience, combined with clinging to this antiquated format for online interaction... I don't have anything more to add that has not already been said a thousand times, but I'm glad to see an ounce of that return in this new landscape

I'm still many months away from completing the DLC, but I'm honestly really excited to make a new character for all these DLC weapons and just immerse myself in seamless co-op invasions! Great video! You’ve just put words to a feeling that I haven’t quite understood for long while now. Invasions in DS3 felt like a dark art. That is what I originally became enraptured with, and have been trying unsuccessfully to recreate for myself in ER. I’ve been playing pretty steadily since launch, but finding myself invading less and less, and doing more weird little challenge runs. Maybe it’s time to reinstall seamless on the PC. I had never done invasions that way- just goofed around in PvE for an hour or two. This could be really great. Thanks Rofo.

It feels like this is the next “Wex Dust” kind of community created content that could be implemented in mainline games for the future. I really hope the next game with invasions is not open world, but any future “Elden Ring” could benefit from a ton of these ideas. You know my stance on all this but I like some of what has been shown here. Great build, great commentary, love the fights (especially the banished halberd Kevin duo 😆) P.s. seeing Torrent on screen in an invasion is really jarring

Started this as well. Much better latency, less packet loss. Superior all around. Only issue is the occassional cheater/players on a different mod

Also, the Putrescence Cleaver has deep ravine vibes- mechanically and aesthetically. I have learned to use it without irony.

The (warranted, fair, deserved) OnlyW*ifu callout. What an ordeal. Either way, Finn the Cat is now safe, and hopefully does not escape again. Our cats are chipped, and they have QR code collars for if anyone can get close enough to them. But they're terrified of everything, including doors and the out-of-doors, so running out of the house doesn't seem very likely.

I was so invested in this mate I'm so glad you found your little boy! I know how much our furry little companions mean to us, our boy Norman the dog is absolutely our child! We don't have or want children but Norman is 100 percent our baby boy and we love him just as much as people love their children. I'm so pleased Finn is home and safe ❤

I miss my Sl 36 Lapp twink with +3 drakeblood great sword lightning infused. While it was really strong I had to get all the way to dragon shrine with an Sl36 and make it into the ringed city which was nightmarish.

How do you get to the dragonkin soldier down there without fighting mimic tear or radahn? I mean I guess you can come back from the drop down to caelid well, but you'd have to glitch right?

2 years later, now this is more viable with all the new toys in the DLC.

I still love me some level 81 invasions but its so hard to squeeze some of the new toys onto certain builds. Bleed Milady is so underwhelming at 81 but at 150 its pretty great and lets me use the new Ansbach spell (when it gets patched).

I've gotten pretty far on my level 30 characters. Definitely way harder than my first playthrough at 138

At the moment I’m feeling pretty posi about great katanas and scadutree fragments (esp the latter, being able to do the DLC at RL 80 with only moderate prep is nice!), but time will tell! I’m very excited to see you mess around with the toys in the DLC! There’s still a lot of life left in this game, thankfully

I don't think it's fair to hand wave peoples disappointment for Elden Ring story because there was a much much heavier emphasis on the story both from a base game perspective but as well as the marketing and the expectation wasn't solely people's hype or expectations as in past souls games/dlcs. The unfortunate thing is to a lesser degree the story's direction is similar to a GoT season 8 situation where there was a very good story tee'd up but they did something else cause *shrug* reasons? I guess. I just wish Radahn had any hint in the base game lore beyond a whisper in the trailer other than the question of why Melania fought him cause the whole concept of fate in statsis was a lot more compelling and fleshed out with exposition, so it felt like it had an answer if you piece the lore together that sufficed and was better than the actual explanation lol... Lack of any real hint beyond that i believe is the crux of disappointed people at least amongst my friends and I. Haven't really heard anyonen mention his orientation tbh beyond memeing the synthetic man

Power stance Great Katana is a ton of fun. Thr CrL1 hits dumb hard, has crazy bleed build up on occult, and the 2h hyper armor is garbage anyway.

I honestly feel like the radahn fight would have been alright if it wasn't the very last boss fight. Was expecting to fight miquella as some new horrifying abomination since alot of the lore was hinting to that. Also never heard anyone say radahn gay but during the whole war in calid thing he was not going or nor did he really agree to the plans they had hence the whole rot nuke and everything being infected there due to the battle.

I’m not in any rush to get builds finished either because running around like a chicken is WAY too much fun at the moment 😮 Agreed on the great katanas (at the moment with my experience) they feel like a one trick pony. Think I’m gonna take the time to figure them out though. Gonna really do a deep dive into all of the things we got 🫶
