Music Lantern that plays a tune and flashes lights ! SMD 0805 Soldering practice! The only issues were the orientation of the CD4060BM IC. Switch did not work and not sure why? I desoldered and resoldered but problem not solved. The only way to get this kit to work is to bridge the two tracks underneath the board.

@pacificpational2626 What's that brother? 🤔
@pacificpational2626 I need one of those because the neighbours dogs are annoying. 😆
I keep trying to add this for days but it gets constantly deleted, so i will try one last time. No, i don't mean DAB radio....we can't get that here. I mean real internet radio, with thousands of stations and genres, etc. Quality varies, but at least you get great reception without any fade or interference....and it's free. Wish we could get DAB, too. But that's proprietory, i think, whereas internet radio is open source and Arduino, so easily hackable and modifiable. Maybe this comment will work. Stay safe out there, mate.
Talking about radio...have you ever built an internet radio, yet? I bought one, and it works, but the menu's and firmware is crap and clunky. I want to build one, and have everything needed, but it's too cold in my workshop right now for my old bones. I love that i can get great reception from any of thousands of streams ...my main interest being talk radio. Just wondered if you'd built one, yet?
@@englishrupe01 No I haven't. "Crap and clunky" I know what you mean. Chinese AliExpress sellers sold me a camera with no instructions, no software. I'm losing count of all the shitty things I bought that didn't work, or had bugs, or I struggled to get it to work. That second last project (the Nvarcher FM radio) was like that sigh. Lack of documentation. Some times you get boards without proper symbols. That's why it was so difficult to assemble. Add the Chinglish which can be very difficult to translate. "Too cold in your workshop" it's like that in my workshop. Hopefully I can insulate it this week and reclad it. My current issue is sporadic back pain which is affecting my upper body. All sorts of strange pins and needles like some witch doctor is stabbing me with a hot needle and laughing at my pain. 😂 "Great reception" it sounds interesting. I must look into it. Did you buy a DIY KIT from AliExpress? Talk Radio. Okay. I'm thinking of getting another short wave radio kit although I already have another kit to build. No, not yet. Still after I finally finished my renovation I might look into it. There are still 4 sections to finish which seems kinda endless not that I actually do much when I do clad a wall but the next wall is a reasonably big wall which means I need to start it early and work reasonably quickly to get it finished before the sun sets. Night. It's 4AM here. I need to try to get some sleep. Night. Thanks for you comment. 🙂🥱
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Thanks for the reply. Hey, don't ever feel you have to reply quickly...or even at all, if you don't feel like it. I won't take offence, no worries. I didn't mean to wake you at 4 a.m....darn..sorry, mate. On the parts for the radio..no kit, just a few needed parts including ESP32, any small screen of choice, and a VS1053 module. There are loads of examples in Instructables, All About Circuits, etc and RUclips video's to follow with these. They are very cheap to make but more expensive to buy a specific radio (just rip-off's really). About your back...very sorry to hear that. I have similar, only about 15 years on. I injured my spine when i was painting the upper floor window about 30ft up, on my roof. I pulled hard on the sprayer line, but there was no more line and i was lifting the entire sprayer & 5 gal paint. My leg went numb that night, and, researching, i read that peripheral neuropathy was on its way.Took about 12 years and several pointless surgeries but now i have constant back pain, treated with opioids, and gabapentin, which does help the neuropathy burning pain in lower extremities. But i am old, and supposed to be in pain anyway, i guess. ;-) Mind you, i don't mean to say that is what you have....just that i can sympathise. Pain is shit, though, eh? Don't let them operate/experiment on you. My last one i asked my wife to smuggle me in one of my guns, sorry to say. Shouldn't have asked her. But it was v bad. Never again. Anyway, the radio is pretty easy to make, plus any speaker you have around. Then, you just upload a sketch plus a link to a file with all the many stations. And you get FM level reception on thousands of stations. Really clever, Hope your pain subsides soon, mate.
Oh, i forgot you also need a PCM5102A for the internet radio, too. But, all in, it would come to less than 20 bucks for everything...pretty good, plus fun to make.
@englishrupe01 It's okay, I haven't been sleeping to well lately. I rarely sleep properly these days especially if its a warm night. I appreciate your messages because as I'm getting older I'm becoming more isolated. I rarely hear from the last two members of my family. I'm lucky if I get a phone call once a month from my eldest sister. My niece is the same; she does her own thing now. Anyway I guess you're in front of your wood heater toasty warm.🔥 😊 Have you had any snow? ☃️ Anyway take care and all da best.
@englishrupe01 I'll respond to your other points later. I'm not feeling too well. My bodies aching and there is no relief anymore. I miss the opiates in a way. Lol 😅
You still getting by, down there, mate? We are sitting by our cozy wood stoves in the cabin over here, in 25 mph winds and about 20 below freezing. Very little snow, so far, luckily, and we have plenty of firewood. Hope you have your new workshop all set up now? All the best for the New Year.
@@englishrupe01Yeah, still here. 😀 I built a Nvarcher TA7358 radio and the destroyed an IC after plugging a 3.5mm headphone jack into the headphone jack instead of the line out. Don't ask me why I did that. Sigh. I've ordered another IC and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. It's already been way over a months now. It should be in Australia but who really knows what happened to them. Kinda annoying. I'm currently recladding my house which is burning through most of my money. It's a very expensive endeavour and I still have two major walls to do and two small sections. Financially I'm struggling. I ended up getting my gas cut off. Too expensive. I'm still wondering what I will do when winter comes around again. Cold showers are okay in summer but winter. I guess I'll reluctantly get it put back on. Same to you sir! (The New Year.) Thanks for dropping by; its nice to hear from you again. 🙂☃️ Bye for now ! 👋🏻

@@decem_unosquattro9538 Sorry you lost some, but i didn't delete it. Maybe YT up to their tricks again. That's a rough deal on the cladding. It's prob the darn high price of oil for making the cladding. Maybe it will drop in a bit, hopefully. Yes, cold showers are tough. Maybe hang up a can and fill it with warm from the kettle, instead? We do that, when the power goes out here, and warm the water on the wood stove. We also have an artesian well here, which gives us free drinking water running out constantly. We are very lucky for that. Just an accident, really, from when we drilled our well. That's a really cool project, on your radio. Hope you get it fixed. Have you experimented at all with the Si7842 radio's? I have a couple now but want to make more, and other IC's i have, too. Yes, that was a tough mistake (the wrong jack) that i have made before, although i managed to skate through on mine without damage. That's crazy it takes a month? It only takes ten days to USA now from China with AliEx stuff. Anyway, all the best mate, and hope things improve.
@@englishrupe01 "I didn't delete it ..." I don't know what happened? I answered your statements and sent the comment only to then realise half of what I had written was missing. Anyway. YT ? I don't know. "In regards to the wood" yes ocean freight is definitely more expensive than it was years ago. I read they use two types of oil. The thick tar like garbage oil and sweet crude oil which is very light and thin. They're not allowed to use the thick oils in port because its dirty and it damages the environment. It has high sulfar content which makes it burn black like coal. In Port they use good quality diesel out of port the rubbish. Venezuela has the thick low grade oil. All the good stuff is from the Middle East and strangely Malaysia. Malaysia has the best oil in the world apparently. The problem is 1/3 of the world's timber was coming from Russia. They're probably sanctioning Russia on pine. Or maybe there is now a monopoly on pine. The good thing is I bought more than I could afford which forced me to take some drastic measures. No, I expect the price to rise not drop. A lot of building companies have gone broke. Timber is obviously a big reason for the cost blow-outs. Another is the cost of the U.S dollar. Our dollar is plummeting against it. This really hurts us as fuel is incredibly high now. We prop up the U.S dollar. Our xrate means the U.S gives us 60 cents for 1.00 AUD. So that means our fuel is expensive. The problem is endless wars. Any country using the U.S dollar is supporting this parasitic currency. Add in oligarchs are paying no tax. They're stealing our resources. The Liberal government policies have essentially destroyed this country. High debt 2.2 trillion debt now. High energy costs gas, fuel, electricity all private now. Immigration (competition for housing) Oligarchs buying up houses which drives up the price. Outsourcing jobs Insourcing jobs Globalisation (foreign ownership of our land) Military policy being tied to NATO means our puppets agree to U.S imperialism. As a colony of America we are paying for very expensive subs, fighter jets and other military hardware. We lost our sovereignty and our democracy is quasi-democracy which could flip at any moment. Hot water. I leave the hose in the sun and purge the hot water out to wash the dishes. I get at least 10 litres like that. Cold showers are fine for the summer. Winter will become the problem. No hot water. The good thing is the insulation in the walls now and the white paint which reflects the radiant sunlight. 10-20°C degrees cooler. The bad is in winter it's actually colder unless I heat with gas. I was thinking maybe I could make a wooden box and sleep in the wooden box like a coffin. It sounds really wacky but maybe I'll be forced to take these extreme measures to solve the heating problem. Water is a problem here also. It's toxic now because they added fluoride to keep us dumb and docile. The Nazis and the Soviets did it to their prisoners drinking water. The artesian well sounds good. Hopefully it's safe to drink. I guess you've had it tested.
@@englishrupe01 Yeah my big radio is a thing of beauty and I thoroughly enjoy building it despite the chinglish they use on the instruction pamphlets. Some how I manage to work out how it was supposed to be assembled. It was a slow drawn out process. I basically had to go through every single component to make sure it was the correct component and the correct orientation. It was a painstaking process. Still in the end I was excited to finally fire it up. The joy was wonderful! I don't really understand why there are so many components. I think they call this a discrete radio or discreet components. Maybe you'll remember. I guess one day I'll understand the different areas and what they actually do. I also bought another smaller diy radio kit which I haven't started yet. It's better in that it has better documentation. I'd like to build a nice wood panelled box for my Nvarcher TA7358. One thing that I find disappointing is the LED is not backlit. I could have looked very nice at night if it had a backlight behind the LED. Si 7842 hmm I'm not sure but I very vaguely remember some radio boffin talking about different fm radio chips. I assume that's what that chip is. I don't know much about that particular chip and what it's capabilities are. Still I will explore it at a later date.

Anyway looking through the shematic I noticed 4 resistors with different values. IiRC it was R10, R19, R12 and R? I'm not sure. One replaced resistor fixed the vibration motor. A 1.2K resistor fixed it. It was a 1K resistor. IiRC.
This clock if you can get it to work is a very nice clock. I encourage you to build it. It has a countdown timer and a stop watch. Also the vibration motor is kinda interesting. I'd be curious to know whether you can get it to work properly.
The clock with the nearly 400 0603 LEDs is a thing of beauty. The video doesn't do it justice. It looks truelly beautiful with the aluminium pcb. Those pretty green LEDs look like the green in opal green is so intense as is the brightness. If you haven't built one yet I encourage you to try it. It probably my favourite clock. I ordered green and I don't regret it. I've ordered more but red this time. Anyway thanks for the comments. You're a real gentleman. 🤝
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Cool....yes i think ICStation has their act together in giving better information on any kit they sell, so even if you don't buy it from them it is worth checking out their directions and schematics, etc.
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Yes, i agree....it does look beautiful, especially with those tiny LED's......almost understated. I really like the green version.
The Geiger tube is installed incorrectly. Pay attention to the positive and negative poles
Okay, yes you are correct thanks for noticing that. I turned it around I hope it's not damaged.
As the original author of the black circuit board, I want to tell you that P2 can't be short-circuited. It should be a battery-powered input port. The blue adjustable potentiometer is used to adjust the suitable working voltage for different Geiger tubes. If you can, please tell me your WeChat or QQ number, we can communicate with each other
I don't use Wechat still later I shall install.
P2 I don't think I've used it yet. Thank you sir.
The blue adjustable potentiometer (trimmer) - ah I see now thank you.
Okay Wechat QR code added to my banner. 👍
This is the shape I designed, but this circuit board is imitated, not made by me
Are you saying this board is not the original and in fact it was you that designed and made this board?
This makes me angry because what I think I bought was or is a bait and switch product. It's like a counterfeit product which is most probably inferior to the original board. In this case maybe it was you that designed the original geiger counter which is what I thought I was getting. 🤔
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Yes, I happened to see the video you released and found that it was not the board I made, but it was highly similar in appearance. The material may not be as good as mine, but it can still achieve the desired effect. After all, the electrical schematic diagram is the same. In addition to the cover tube, the most expensive component on the board is the power switch. My kit uses copper switches. The resistance pin made in Taiwan is copper with a diameter of 0.5mm. Other components are also of high quality and reliable performance
I don't understand what you mean by cover tube? Geiger tube? I liked the original pcb and its a pity they didn't send me what I thought I was buying. It's despicable and it just creates bad feeling and maybe reluctance to buy more diy kits and other electronic components. Shematic - I don't know because I didn't get the legit one advertised on AliExpress. :( This radiation detector is okay I guess. I like the switch on this one it looks like good quality.
"Copper switches" I guess you mean the internal mechanical contacts. 🤔
Quite an interesting squeaker, it's bad that there is no assembly process, people like it. Thank you for not forgetting, I am very pleased.
Yeah you're right it is a squeaker Konstantine :) ha ha and yeah it would be much better if they had good instructions with the kit. :-D I wandered where you got to. I hope you are okay. I read some bad things about what's happening in UKR.
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Yes, unfortunately, good things rarely happen to us now. But we try to be happy just because we are still alive.
I read every day the situation in your country. I just assume that everything that is black is actually white, and everything that is white is actually black. I've given up on mainstream media. I imagine you are living without pwr, and without gas. It's not good here either. The costs of living are getting higher and higher. More businesses are going bankrupt and things we buy are getting harder to get. I bought timber yesterday which was bowed and not square. A large trucking company went into receivership which supplies food to our three major supermarkets. 1500 jobs maybe lost. That's on top of three or four big housing builders that went broke. Sanctions are hurting us because timber is harder to get now. I read one third of timber comes from RUS. Despite the gloom I manage to keep soldering more kits which is always interesting and fun. I'm building small digital clocks. Three so far are partially working but time doesn't advance. I downloaded an instruction manual from ICStation (TJ-56-619 4Bit Digital Electronic Clock DIY KIT). Looking at the shematic in the instructions it appears 4 resistors are of the wrong values. 😕 R2, R3, R19, R10. R2 is 1K in the kit I bought. It should be 1.2K. This SMD resistor is connected to the two smd LEDs which is connected to TP5400 U1 IC (lithium battery management chip). As we know this would lighten the brightness of the two SMD LEDs. R3 is 1.1K but on the ICStation shematic it should be 1.2K ohm. How this will affect the battery charging circuit I don't know? R19, is again 1K but in ICStation shematic it should be 1.2K. This resister is connected to Q2 which is S9012 transistor that switches vibration motor of and on. If current is too high how does it affect the transistor? Maybe its okay and within tolerances but if it's too high how will that affect the transistor? R10 again is connected to another S9012 transistor which is connected to the clock buzzer. I think it does work but not very loud and doesn't stay on for long enough. :-? I'm now wondering whether maybe I destroyed all three 32.768Khz crystal oscillators? Probability is low. I haven't destroyed any other crystal oscillator on any other digital clock kit. I tried replacing two 22pF smd caps on my kits thinking maybe the smd caps supplied in the kit were not the correct values. 🤔 These 2pF caps are connected to the crystal oscillator. Everything appears to work except the time doesn't move or doesn't advance. It just stays at the set time e.g. 14:28 and never moves. Hours later it's still 14:28 (24 hour time only) Auto brightness and manual brightness work correctly so that the 4bit digital tube functions as intended. **Stopwatch** is setable and works correctly. **Countdown Timer** is stable and works as it is meant to. **Fu-1** works its sets the time correctly. **Fu-2** sets the date **Fu-3** it's sets first alarm **Fu-4** it sets the second alarm **Fu-5** it sets hourly chime, and display brightness manually 1~15 or automatically using the photo-resistor. **Fu-6**Vibration Motor off or on. **Fu-7** temperature calibration (assume it works) Things that don't work or don't appear to work correctly. - buzzer short duration? - LEDs are a bit too bright. - time doesn't advance forward? Anyway I shall modify the resistors to the shematic not the kit list values. Try to prepare for the worst Konstantine. Take care and hopefully this war will end sooner than later. Dec ❤️
Hello I can’t find battery anywhere. Please share where I may purchase please 😊! Your the 1st to show this 2018 model which I love ❤the newer have battery w wire & connector can’t imagine them needing battery already anyway. Thanks - Nashville Plumber!
I'm in Australia buddy ! You've googled it and can't find batteries? That surprises me because the U.S of all places you should be able to find batteries although it's been awhile since I last checked for these batteries. Sorry I can't help! Edit* www.speedyspares.com/shop/home/4054-sony-headphone-battery-for-mdr-100abn-s0185321812.html I got mine from here in Australia. Just remember that these batteries are not brand new and its debatable whether or not they're worth buying now. I'm still using my ABN100 headphones but mostly I use my wired which is becoming difficult because my new phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Go on google they still appear to be available albeit its a risky venture trying to find fresh reasonable batteries. Thanks for the reply. Dec ❤
That's a nice kit. It's handy to have at least one linear power supply at hand, especially if you are into amateur radio much and lots of other times, too. The only downside is the awful efficiency.
I have a few linear power supplies as you may have noticed. 😅 I like building them. I want to test them but I haven't gotten around to learning how to do it. I shall test them one day. Yeah I read they aren't very efficient.🤔
Glad you got it fixed OK. Yep, those tiny diodes will get you every time. Get yourself one of those cheap jeweller's loupe's for about 5 bucks from Amazon, etc. Those give a great magnification and will identify these diodes easily. I know all about old eyes.
I'll take your advice and buy one because as we both know the printed diodes are so small that it's almost impossible to read them without some form of magnification. Also never assume anything. 😅 Thanks for the reply and advice. It's nice to hear from you again. Hopefully the snow has melted.

@4:34 Correction circle on a pcb silkscreen is usually Anode +. I said circle is cathode but this is actually INCORRECT! ANODE + 🔴 CATHODE - ⬛ A square on through hole is usually anode but not always. Checking with a multimeter is only way to know for sure..
Nice detailed video. I was looking at one similar which also had the date. Great tips, thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir, you're a scholar and a gentleman. 😀👍
I must have done 20 takes before I felt it was good enough to upload. I'm exhausted after all the hassle I had to endure. It took 3 hours to upload.
There's nothing wrong with the detector. Americium is primarily an alpha emitter. Alpha particles don't travel very far and are easy to stop. If you want to get a reading, you'll have to remove the plastic shroud and put the americium button directly against the Geiger tube.
Ha ha I had forgotten all about alpha, beta and gamma radiation and how far they penetrate through materials. Yes you are correct it's not going to give a very high reading on Americium because of the type of isotope that it is. I funny that you commented today because yesterday I walked past a shop and thought I wonder if they have any old radioactive ☢️ watches, or crockery that I could use to to test my geiger counters. 🤔 Anyway thanks for the comment. Most appreciated. 👍
The M4011 Geiger tube can't detect alpha. Alpha can't even wear a piece of A4 paper. 4011 can only capture beta and gamma. A large amount of alpha can be detected with mica window tubes, and the alpha measurement in the smoke sensor is very powerful
@@decem_unosquattro9538 In the 1960s and 1970s, aircraft instruments or dials of military equipment would use a mixture of radioactive substances and phosphors for luminous effects
yes I read years ago that alpha particals theoretically cannot penetrate a piece of paper or human skin. I didn't realise my folly until much later after I had made the video. 😄😆
Mica tubes okay that's interesting. 🤔
M8.. It's hard to hear you in this video. Looking up the datasheet will tell you what the IC is.. Also using a radio to tune into the transmitter will let us know if it works.... Just a blank in the fm radio tuning is an indication the transmitter works... Its all part of the fun. You said this was a second attempt... Personally I would try again.
I can't, I just realised I only ordered one transmitter. 😑 I'll try to fix this one but it might end up in the too hard basket especially if the cause of the issue is the IC. I'd be surprised if it was because usually I can get the soldered IC without issues. Still who knows whether or not it got damaged or not. Anyway I'll have another look tomorrow.
Oh thanks for the reply buddy. 💙
Oh, sorry about the audio I was half drunk when I did it. 😅
Hey. Do you know how i can get it on the 3,5mtr band below 87.5mhz with a little modification
No, I'm just starting to teach myself about electronics. I think you need a Japanese radio. I think they have these lower "frequencies" that you are wanting. Anyway thank you for commenting on my channel.
Shame it wasn't a kit build, i agree, but it does look like a very nice finished product with a decent speaker. Cool.
I can't remember whether it was my fault or the sellers fault. One feels a little stupid when one unpacks a diy kit only to discover its already assembled. 😅😒 The only reason I bought it was to enjoy the challenge of building it. Sigh. Now it sits in a corner gathering dust.
Yes, its quite a handsome little radio and I like that it has an arduino 16x2 display. Of all the kits I built I like my 7 colour clock diy kit the most. It's the most practical build and its most interesting and fun to build. Also it has a nice display with nice numerals and I can see my soldering which I look at and think hey I soldered those components. 🤔😄 I just finished soldering my 14th SMD LED chaser. I bought 10 pieces of LED chaser running water LEDs. Which is half through hole components and half SMDs. Nearly every one of them didn't work. The next 20 LED chaser running water LEDs was all 0805 LEDs and resistors. Except for one all are working so far. So yeah my soldering has improved immensely since I first started soldering SMDs. On my profile picture you can see old Soviet style neon bulbs on red pcbs. I soldered 2 x 1206 SMDs on each side. So yeah I getting better at soldering SMDs. I've started on 0603 SMDs which aren't that difficult still the next levels are getting much harder. Rather than solder SMDs on those big pcbs which are designed for smd soldering I thought why not build these LED chaser lights. At the very least they actually do something. Anyway thanks for you replies. Decem.

Hey, cool tree! 🌲🌲🌲 But you didn’t show how you collected it, it’s a pity.🙃😉😀
Konstantin! What do you mean? How I collected it? 😀🤔
If you mean how I welded it ! Then it requires quite a lot of welds. 20 or 24 welds plus extra for the coin batteries, and the welds to hold it together. Hmmm I shall think about this. 🤔😀👍
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Sometimes they write to me under the videos that it’s bad that my assembly is accelerated, people don’t have time to enjoy it. As one viewer wrote, I won’t collect it myself, but I like to watch how others do it, and you speed everything up, no pleasure. 😁
Hi Konstantine, if I was to solder the Christmas tree it probably would take half an hour to maybe 45 minutes. The components are so small. 0603 resistors. Sometimes I peel back the strip's of LEDs and the fly off like flea's 😅 I frantically look around for where it landed most times I find them but sometimes they lost forever. I would have to do a lot of editing to create videos like that which would cost me money. I'd have to learn Adobe Premier or something like that. I'd need to cut lots of little segments and weld them all together. A very time consuming process. That's the only way I could do it. Otherwise one long 45 minute video would take 3 hours to upload and would anybody watch it? I don't know. I already do maybe 10 takes or more. Often I make mistakes. Forget to put something into the video. Forget something critical then I need to redo it again. It can be quite exhausting sometimes. Anyway I shall consider your comments. 🤝 Decem.

I was hoping for the working demonstration. I was wondering about the device connected to the four pin header. Pin 1 and 4 power maybe and 2 and 3 TX RX? Might explain why they had to be crossed. TX has to connect to RX and vise versa. Maybe show in a follow up video? pls
HA HA I don't actually know what it is !?? 😄😆 Tx and Rx ? I have no idea amigo HA ha. I bought a book about electronics. Slowly I'll start to have a better understanding of what everything does. I know roughly what components do but how it all works in conjunction with all other components remains a mystery. I think some one ...ed up or it is deliberate. It seems strange how the sell these kits yet offer little or no support. Sometimes the instructions are very good. Sometimes they're completely useless. It might be English but it's more like Chinglish which to be honest is kinda useless also. Some guy with a better understanding of electronics knew where the fault lay. A follow up video of what?? 😆
HMM Well if I discover anything new I might consider it. Maybe I could do it on a bread board.🤔 I'm enjoying fixing problems and learning more. It's a fascinating topic electronics. Sigh. Good morning sir, I bought the GS1299 Stereo FM radio 📻 diy kit. In hindsight it is a problematic kit. The components I think are a little too close for comfort. The USB port in the kit is the wrong one. Sadly I could not get this fm radio to work correctly. It wouldn't search, nor could I find a radio station. One of the legs on the 1299 IC was either dry soldered or I damaged the IC. Because the usb port was the wrong size I could not charge the battery. Which fm stereo diy kits did you buy and what was your experience? 🤔 I'm a little peeved off that it didn't work. 🫤 I don't take failure to well. 😆😅 Anyway I look forward to your response. Nice one....thanks. The adjustable upright thing is a variable inductor. I have a couple of kits of these things that i haven't put together yet. You know, the receiver is also usable as a regular FM radio with auto-tuning, if you wanted. However, the other FM receiver kit (blue one) is way better with stereo reception and about the same price and size. For the transmitter, you could also use a single 18650....that would last forever ;-)
You're welcome ! 😊 A variable -conductor- inductor. I'll have to do some research on them. 🤔 I know what a inductor is but that is new to me. A variable inductor. What do you mean as a regular fm radio I thought that was it's intended purpose. Ohhhhh ... 😉 You do you mean the blue one? That's another kit on AliExpress? A single 18650. Okay. What's the other FM Receiver Kit? 🤔
Is that the HEX3653 ? 🤔
@@decem_unosquattro9538 Ah...no, a variable INDUCTOR. You know....really just a wire coil, like a regular inductor, but the core can be adjusted, as you did, by winding it up and down inside the wire coil. I assume there are different versions of the BEST H/A workstation. The American version 110V 60 Hertz with an American plug.
These are fun kits. Kinda useful and great practice. I love the radio kits too.
Yeah you're right. I didn't realise just how interesting and fun they are to build. It really is rather satisfying when one finally finishes the "build" and adds power to it and it works. One gets a feeling of achievement and success! Although I haven't had much success on SMDs. It's still an interesting challenge.
Maybe either the zebra strip or the battery connection? But maybe a bad microprocessor, and that's curtains. Refund anyway.
I don't know what was wrong with it. I think I got ripped off on that tool. 🤔 I think I got a discount on a replacement but I think AliExpress sided with the seller which meant I got the short end of the stick.
Great job, there. SMD is tricky & takes practice.
Your not wrong I'm already on my 8th or ninth SMD kit and none of them work. The last one I assembled worked perfectly for 30 minutes and when I returned from a coffee break it was no longer working. I'd love to know which component failed? Was it a IC? The 555 timer? Maybe one of the caps? Anyway that's what I'll try next. Diagnosing components and desoldering. 🤔 I just woke up after a rough night.
