ROFL you can only dodge reality for so long. Is Lebron bigger and stronger yes, but he has never had that killer instinct, drive or dominance in key/clutch situations on the court other greats (not just MJ many others) had. He never has throughout his career and that has always been my knock on Lebron since he entered the league. You would never hear stories of MJ Bird Kobe Curry, ect say lets try to get the ball to whoever has the most open shot. Never they always said give me the ball and everyone knew that was the best chance to win, even the defenses.

The greatest players of any and every era in NBA history want and sometimes demand to be the ones taking the final shot because they are best player on the court and the best player gives you the best odds making those shots. Jordan didnt take 100% of game winning shots (he gave Kerr, Paxon, Pippen, and others several throughout his career, but he knew he gave his team the best odds because he was the best player on the court.

Lebron has had multiple finals where he wasnt even of the better players of his own team. Jordan was not only the player on his team every finals, but the best on the court every finals.

the reason they are more "versatile" is because they removed most of the contact and defensive focus of the game. If you reintroduced those two things into today's NBA, all of that versatility and/or talent would no longer be there. One could easily make the argument it took MORE talent and versatility to play in an era of contact and where defense not only was a larger part of the game, but would actually build teams that made it it's focus.

It's more of a show, and fans are getting tired. I am more impressed by watching earlier basketball than today's basketball. It's actually exciting to watch those older games.

I just wonder if James would have been able to hang if he came into the league in '83 instead of '03... Physically, absolutely. One of the most gifted athletes in history. But could he have stood up to HARD, physical defense, and been able to play the mental game of that era? Bird, Jordan, Hill, Rodman, Magic were all legendary trash talkers that could beat their opponents mentally before dominating on the court. I don't know if LeBron could hang.
