Enjoyed the vid! I just gotta say, I dunno if it's right to characterize Bird's performance in the first 3 quarters of this playoff game against Dominique as "lollygagging." The guy not only had painful bone spurs on the bottoms of both feet and 2 ruined Achilles tendons, but according to an article archived on the official NBA website, Bird also played that game while suffering from bronchial pneumonia. He subsequently had to have double Achilles surgery where they cut entirely through both tendons. While they were doing that, they then had to peel both tendons back from his heels and literally separate the fibers of the Achilles to get at the bone spurs on his feet. They discovered that the largest of the bone spurs had broken off from the bone, meaning it could move around in there - especially with impact from running on the court. I think he was hoping his teamates could carry that game but ended up having to turn it up in that 4th quarter and - somehow - managed to do that.
Agreed! Larry was an AMAZING player with all of his injuries. He played against Michael Jordan right before Larry retired with a messed up back, and still beat Michael Jordan, again! Michael could never beat Byrd even with Byrd’s serious back injury! “Lallygagging” I don’t think so. Hardest player ever, and played through major pain!
Lollygagging? Did you not hear the part about the bone spurs/Achilles tendons issues he was dealing with? In both feet. Shame on you. .....lollygagging??..... smh Granted, you are unaware that Bird also had bronchial pneumonia, but even so.... smh.... lollygagging??? 🤦♀️

☘️ Larry Legend
Dominique had a great series, too.
I like that Larry acknowledged that with him.
That was the greatest 4th quarter in NBA playoff history, which is still talked about today.
I think Im one of a few, but I watched him play through the 80s, ànd I have Dominique in my top ten (9). Birds 2.
