Book Haul - June 2024 | Adding to the Hoard
"Only 9 books" I'm not sure if I got through 9 chapters in that same time. I'm pretty sure I did get through 9 sentences though. And I like going back to the classics. One book I have wanted to read for a while is War and Peace. Only has about 590,000 words. Should be a breeze to get through.
You have so much Manga. You should do a “favorite manga” or “My top __ Manga” video!
There's a song by Nightwish called Phantom of The Opera. Such a great song by a great band especially with Tarja singing. I'm going to congratulate you early on hitting 500 subscribers.
“Only 9 books.” 😂 Only on Booktube do we think that’s small! It’s ok, Aubrey! ♥️You did fine!
Haha, Thank you! 😊
You know, I am beginning to think that you might like dragons. It is subtle but there are clues if you read between the lines. 🐲 While not a series I have wanted to start reading works by Gillian Flynn for a while now. I always liked the Gone Girl movie, and Sharp Objects looks like a great miniseries. Her books have been sitting on my shelves for years now and I want to finally get around to one of them. They are thrillers so they are meant to be fast reads. But we will see how well that works out.
The good thing about thriller and/or mystery series is that you can often take them book by book without worrying too much about big gaps in between. I've never read any Gillian Flynn, but I have heard that her books are good! And yes, I do love dragons. How could you tell? Haha 😊🐉
Gosh you are beautiful!
Oh, that's so sweet. Thank you so much! 😊
🐲 ⛩I hope you will enjoy all the new series you will start this year. Even if you won’t get to all of them, at least you have many promising options to choose from, so I hope you won’t feel too guilty about it. This year I also want to enjoy reading without pressure or stress. I have started Heaven Official’s Blessing this week and I am already obsessed, I’ve finished the first book and started the second one right away. Book two already feels more dramatic with a lot of setup for future plot developments, or at least that’s what I am sensing. Thank you for giving me that last little push to pick it up. At first I was worried that the writing style would put me off or that it would be distracting or even confusing, but after I got used to the style, it did not bother me at all, it’s an easy and quick read. The characters are already dear to me. I love the aspects of Chinese mythology and folklore. I was also surprised by how humorous the series is and I find myself chuckling and laughing quite a bit. I am worried about all the (past) trauma that is going to come up, there have been hints here and there, so I had to google if danmei have happy endings, and it said they usually do, so I hope that is true.😅 I can’t wait to get the rest of the books, I think I will fly through them really quickly. (By the way, I completely forgot to mention it, but I’ve changed my youtube username from Chris Linde to Mio Lind, all my previous comments were left with the old name; I hope that wasn’t confusing.)
Hello again! Thank you for letting me know about the username change! Thank you so much! I think that, with all of the books that we want to read and things that we want to do in our lives, we start to feel guilty for "not doing enough" at a given time. Hopefully, we can both just enjoy the next year and all that it brings us. 😊 I'm so glad that you're enjoying it!! I love Heaven Official's Blessing SO MUCH. So many of the characters are so easy to love, especially Xie Lian, who is precious and wonderful, haha. The writing style does take a bit to get used to, but once you do, the story is so worth it. And yeah, Xie Lian's past is pretty traumatic, but don't lose hope! 😊 Which book are you on?
@@AubreyLikestoRead You’re welcome! I thought it would be confusing if I didn’t mention it. 😅 I have now finished book two and will hopefully start book three this weekend. I think it will relate the events between Xie Lian’s first ascension and his first banishment and I am very much intrigued already. Xie Lian really is such a lovable character; I just want to comfort him whenever things go badly for him. He has all his emotions and feelings locked inside, which is just so sad. But I already love Hua Cheng, too. I am so intrigued by his back story and can’t wait to find out more about him. I also quite like the banter between Mu Qing and Feng Xin, they make me laugh, as does the Lord /Lady Wind Master, I like them a lot and I hope there will be more of their chaotic energy. 😄
@@Mio_Lind Oh, there will be. Shi Qingxuan is a delight, haha! Poor Xie Lian is just misunderstood or looked down on by so many people and for no good reason! He's such a sweetheart! And just wait because the backstories get pretty crazy! Feng Xin and Mu Qing crack me up, too. If you're interested, the first two seasons of the donghua/anime are out. I believe they're available on both Netflix and Crunchyroll, and they cover through part of book two. It's a very visually pleasing series, and I really like the characterizations so far!
@@AubreyLikestoRead Yeah, I already can see that, so far Xie Lian only ever wants the best for everyone, always trying to save others and protect them, yet everyone always gets mad at him or just completely misunderstands his intentions, it’s breaking my heart. 🥲I like how Hua Cheng seems to care about nothing except protecting Xie Lian. I also really liked the scene with the umbrella, when he shields him from the blood rain, at first I didn’t know what the illustration on the cover of the first volume meant, but once I read that scene I thought it was very sweet. 😊 I really really really want to watch the Donghua but I currently don’t have a Crunchyroll or Netflix subscription - I would love to hear the original language and the pronunciation of their names as I am struggling with that a lot; I couldn’t make sense of the pronunciation guide in the back of the books either - I tried looking it up but I stopped immediately, as I accidentally stumbled upon a small but in my opinion significant spoiler and I regretted that instantly. So I forbade myself from looking up anything else until I’ve finished reading the series. haha…😆
@@Mio_Lind I love them so much!! 💜😊 There are a number of moments throughout the series that just make me so happy, like giggling, kicking my feet, etc., haha. 😄 I understand completely. I do recommend that you watch the dubbed version in the original Mandarin whenever you get the chance to do so; it's so much better! And yeah, I'm currently learning Mandarin, but I still have trouble pronouncing names sometimes unless I hear them spoken aloud/see the accents or a pronunciation guide. 😅
An hour long video, count me in 👌
Haha, I hope you enjoyed it! 😊
I loved Warriors as a kid! I loved the New Prophecy series. I've been wanting to read the newer series as well.
I did, too!! I'm not sure how many of them there are now, though! 😊

😊🐉😊🧝🏻♀️😊🧙🏻😊💜
I do not keep track of my series like that. I do however have plenty series that I have started. I'm really bad about TV shows. Tons of shows I start and get a few seasons into but never finish. Although I do have something I occasionally just get through all of it. Right now that is Frieren Beyond Journey's End. It is such a good show. It is sincere and heartfelt. Just a really great show all around. I don't really mind not finishing stuff though. What I have a problem with is I keep getting things even though I know I will never be able to finish it all. Especially bad with video games. My Steam library is over 300 games and I have only played about 20% of them. Movies, shows, games, books. There is just so much I already have and I just keep getting more. I have actually read all the Witcher books before the show came out. And the first book of short stories for me was the best of the series. And unfortunately I did not enjoy it when it switched to novels. Can't recommend the short stories enough though. ❄ And I'm not sure if you got the snow you were hoping for but where I live I did get snow. Got to be off work for three days because of it. It was nice to have that reprieve. Stayed inside and played Baldur's Gate 3 with a buddy. ❄
I understand completely! I have a number of shows that I am also in the middle of. Not that I'm giving up on them, though! Although, there are some shows that I actually drop if the plot changes too much and loses me. Frieren looks so good! Definitely on my want-to-try list! I also continue to get/start new pieces of media (mainly books, haha), which can be stressful but also just gives me more options to enjoy! Unfortunately, the snow here did not stay on the ground for long, but I'm holding out hope for more this season! I'm glad that you got to enjoy some where you live!! 😊 (Also, sorry for responding so late; it's just been one of those weeks, haha.)
@AubreyLikestoRead I actually got the Frieren Blu-ray because I liked it so much. Almost had a problem with when I opened it up and the two blu-ray discs were loose in the first tray. A tray that only fits one disc. Luckily when I played them both at home later they worked just fine. But that was about to be a huge problem. And over the last year I have made more of an effort to finish stuff I have started before. I have gotten enough things at this point in my life. With a massive library of stuff. At this point I should be able to find something. And its no problem to take a while. I have been super busy too. I was trying to write this comment back all day at work and wasn't able to.
@@kevinhefley7287 Oh my gosh, I hate it when that happens! I know that things can come loose in transit, but sometimes it seems like people don't package discs properly. Yeah, I have so many things to read in my library, as well! (And lists of things to watch, haha.) And thank you for taking the time to comment. I always really appreciate it! 😊
@@AubreyLikestoRead I have never been one to comment on videos as long as I have been on RUclips. Maybe made a half dozen since about 2005. I really like commenting on your videos. And inevitably this week instead of getting through some of my backlog of stuff I bought two games instead. Heroes of Hammerwatch II, which I am loving. I have already put in about 20 hours into the game. And I also got Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Because of course I did. I also don't even know how you get two discs in a one disc tray. I assume these places pack them with machines. But I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. I'm just lucky the discs were fine so now I don't have to think about it. You know, until the next time I order something. Then I will just be thinking about that.
@@kevinhefley7287 Well, I'm so glad that you do! 😊 I understand completely. I have also acquired new books this month, which adds to my backlog of a tbr. However, so far, all of the ones that I haven't read have been preorders, so I guess there's that, haha. I'm glad that you're enjoying your game! I always get a little stressed when I order something that it will arrive damaged or get rained on or something. I try not to think about it, haha!
Fun to listen to this! I’m working on my journaling with all your bookish talk. 😍♥️
Thank you so much!! 😊 I hope that your journaling is going well! (Also, sorry for responding so late; it's been one of those weeks, haha.)
I must thank you! I was given the Bartimeaus trilogy as a gift (signed to me, incredibly!) when I was child and until now, I had no clue there was a fourth book!!! But I now have the same problem… there is no cover that matches my set 😭
It's so frustrating, isn't it? Hopefully, we'll both find the editions that we're looking for! And signed copies? That'a amazing! 😃 (Also, sorry for responding so late; it's just been one of those weeks, haha.)
❄❄❄ I love reading series, but for some reason I have issues with reading the last book. I've lost count of the number of series I've not finished.
Do you just not want it to end? I love reading the endings but then am always sad that it's over! 😊❄️ (Also, sorry for responding so late; it's just been one of those weeks, haha.)
@@AubreyLikestoRead I don't really know, to be honest. It's not exactly not wanting to end, because I do reread a lot. But well! Hope everything's ok :)
@@patriciamoutinho9264 Thank you!! I hope that you are doing well, also! 😊
Love your shirt! ♥️🌲😁
Thank you so much!! 😊🎄💜
Awww! Beautiful large copy of My Happy Marriage! How different are light novels vs. the manga?
It's so pretty!! I'm so happy with it!! 😊 I can't speak specifically to My Happy Marriage, but typically, just as the manga tends to have more content than the anime, in my experience, light novels tend to have more than the manga.
I’m reading the Goblin Emperor right now! I’m enjoying it! Have you read the others in the series? I’m so sorry that you’ve been so sick! ♥️
Oh, that's wonderful!! It's so good!! 😄💜 I haven't started The Cemeteries of Amalo yet, but I plan to this year, especially with the next book coming out Thank you so much! 😊
Sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. My go-to when I'm super sick is extra hot tomato soup, usually from a mug. I hope you are taking time to rest and take care of yourself. It's a bummer being sick over the holidays. I've definitely been there before.
Thank you so much!! 😊 I'm starting to feel better but still not great. I'm actually not a fan of tomatoes, but hot potato soup is great, haha! Thank you for the advice, though!
Haven’t heard of that Elfhame novel, but the Folk of the Air trilogy is pretty good
I've heard that so many people enjoy it. I'm looking forward to trying it! 😊
@ Yes. It was not what I was expecting at all. Tons of politics and scheming!
@@LotsOfBooksThat is also what I've heard, haha!
Good R2 pillow, great video and even better holiday sweater! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Mistborn when you get to it.
Thank you so much!! I'm so excited to start it! 😊
You always have some really interesting recommendations. I also hope you had a great Christmas! A book I saw recently that I thought was interesting was The Wager. I'm pretty sure it is non-fiction. But it sounded good. About a ship that was shipwrecked and faced mutiny. While you love deserts, I love mountains. Ever since I was a kid when I watched Lord of the Rings it was always so incredible to see those shots of the mountains. And I have still never seen a mountain. Even when I have flown I wouldn't look out the window just so if I ever do see a mountain it is from the ground. And my goal for 2025. Finish a book. Literally any book. I might go grab some children's book just to get that done. Maybe something by Dr. Seuss. Also ideally I'd like to finish editing my own book. I worked so hard to finish the first draft then I have barely put any work on it since then.
Thank you so much!! I hope that you did, as well, if you celebrate! 😊 The Wager is actually on my list. It sounds really good! I also love the mountains. I love to go hiking and enjoy the scenery and the closeness of nature, though none of the mountains that I have spent time on are of the towering, snowcapped variety. I saw some of those for the first time in person (and not out of a plane window) in Wyoming a few years ago. I highly recommend going if you get the chance! I wish you luck with both of your goals! You could always try a nice middle grade that reads quickly and makes you happy! And I especially wish you luck on your book! I know that, for me, I sometimes reach a checkpoint of sorts when working on a long-term task and then end up taking a longer break than intended. Hopefully, the editing process will go smoothly! 😊🎄
@@AubreyLikestoRead Thank you. I will need every bit of luck I can get so I won't get distracted from my editing. It is just so much. And i already know I need to add so many more scenes. Also Happy New Year! 🥳 And I don't get to travel much as I work too much. Been on 6 days a week for over a year. But if I ever do get a chance to travel again I want to go to New Zealand to see the Lord of the Rings locations and sets.
@@kevinhefley7287 Happy New Year!! 😊🎉 I can't even imagine, but I know that you can do it! Oh, me, too!! New Zealand is definitely on my list of places to visit, and that trip will absolutely include a visit to the Shire, a hike at "Mount Doom", etc.
Get you some Feverfew for those headaches! I get cluster headaches every winter, and started taking it after getting into holistic healing. It works like an absolute charm and is so much healthier for you than OTC's. Hope you give it a try. and feel better soon! Ps a lot of these books, I've never heard of before. so thanks for showing :)
Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video, and I appreciate the well wishes! I'm sorry that you also have to deal with headaches, but I'm glad that you're able to manage them! 😊
A lot of those look really good interested to see what you think of them. Your excitement for your tbr always rubs off and convinces me to work on my owned books mountain I haven't gotten to yet. Almost at the end of the marathon that is Wind and Truth!! 🎄
Oh, that's so exciting! I hope that you're enjoying it! And thank you so much!! 😊🎄
☃🎄I always get so excited watching your videos; I too love wolves, dragons and vampires. I also love the Mummy movie - mostly because at some point as a teenager I was obsessed with Ancient Egypt. 😆 I suffer from headaches, migraines and chronic pains; too. It has gotten worse in the last couple of years and affected my reading a lot. I am sorry you are going through something similar. I think it’s wonderful that you get genuinely excited about books, your excitement is contagious and I love that about your videos. For a long time I wanted to get back to reading more fantasy books again so I was really happy when I first found your channel earlier this year. “Under the Earth over the Sky” is on my 2025 TBR as well, I’d never heard of that book until I saw it in one of your haul videos this autumn, I immediately knew I had to get it. I also want to collect and read more dragon books next year. I loved “The Shadow of the Wind”, and if I remember correctly there are side characters appearing in the Angel’s Game as well, but it’s been a while since I read it, so I don’t remember it too well. I do remember liking “The Shadow of the Wind” better at the time, but my half-sister enjoyed “The Angel’s Game” more. I think Korean animations are called “aeni”, but I’ve seen Solo Leveling being referred to as an Anime, I think maybe because it is produced by a Japanese Studio - but I don’t know for sure. 😅 Also, I totally agree, why are gaming consoles so expensive? I would like to get a PS5, but it’s not in my budget right now, maybe in the future; which is probably for the best anyways, since I tend to get extremely motion sick and nauseous playing video games. (Not that that does stop me, I can get very emotionally invested when it comes to certain games.)🙃 I wish you a Merry Christmas! (Your Christmas tree is lovely.) 🎄 And I am so sorry for this really long comment.
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad that you enjoy watching!! 😊 I'm so excited to read Under the Earth, Over the Sky, and I hope that you like it, too! I've never heard anyone else talk about it! (I am also planning to read more dragon books in 2025. I have curated quite a collection, haha. 😄) Thank you!! Every time I talk about a manhwa, I wonder what the animated adaptation would properly be called. I debated buying a PS5 for ages because of the cost, but my brother was able to get it for cheaper, and I knew that my dad was going to give me some birthday/Christmas money, so my brother convinced me to get it. I'm really happy with it so far, but they really shouldn't cost as much as they do (although, neither should most things, honestly, haha). I'm so sorry to hear that you are dealing with similar things! I've had migraines since I was twelve, and I've also been dealing with back and joint pain. Headaches can really take a toll on your daily life. I hope that it all eases up for you and that you are able to read and do lots of wonderful things this next year!! Merry Christmas, and thank you again! (And don't worry, your comment was delightful!) 🎄❄️
@@AubreyLikestoRead Thank you, you're so kind. I do actually get quite anxious to leave comments, I start to overthink and then it becomes a whole thing in my head and then often times I don't comment at all. But now I am glad I did. I wish you a wonderful reading year for 2025 with many exciting stories and fantastic worlds to discover; and I hope we will find ways to manage our chronic pains a little better. 😌
@@Mio_Lind You're very welcome! I'm glad that you commented, as well. 😊 I wish you the same!! Hopefully this coming year will be better in all ways than those before with more joy and happiness! 😊😊
I would love if you sometime made a video on ‘clean’ manga/no romance?! for children? Or for easily second-hand embarrassed 😂 people? 😏💗 Thanks for considering.
I could definitely try! It may have to wait until I've read more because a lot of manga does tend to have cringey moments, haha! 😄
@ noooo rush! Future video idea! It’s not like I don’t have anything to read here! 😂😉
So many intriguing sounding reads! I loved your squeal over the Lord of Rings quote! 😂
Thank you! Haha, I was already so excited about that book and had no idea that the quote was there. It just made it that much better! 😊😊
So sorry about your headache, Aubrey! 😢♥️
Thank you! It's still hanging around today, as well. Hopefully it'll be gone soon! 🙏🏻💜
The Empire books were my top reads of 2024. Yes they are dark, yes they are brutal at times but they are perhaps not as bloody as you might expect. Book 2 is more grim as you actually learn more about the bloodlines and how humans are used. Absolutely cannot wait for book 3.
About the end of last year and the beginning of this year I reread all of Harry Potter again. I haven't done that since the books first came out. When I was a kid my parents only got the audiobook for Order of the Phoenix. So I have gotten through that one a dozen times or more. And is my favorite book of the series. Although I think Prisoner of Azkaban is the best film. ☃
It's so nice to revisit a favorite story! I was rereading one Harry Potter book a year as the MinaLima editions were released, but they're not doing anymore, which is so sad! Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely one of my favorites, but really, I love all of them, haha. 😊⛄️
I also love reading mysteries in the winter especially victorian ones something so cozy about them. Been reading Lady Hardcastle ☃
There really is! Also, I just looked up this series, and it looks so good! 😊⛄️
@@AubreyLikestoRead Its very fun and Lady Hardcastle is like the elderly british grandma I always wanted.
@@GarrickReads Oh my gosh, I love British mystery series! And she sounds like such a fun protagonist.
❄️📚❄️📚 Great recommendations! I absolutely love the Emily Wilde's books! Oh yes, and Harry Potter and The Once and Future King (I just ran and looked on my shelves and I have the same cover)! I've added all the Jackaby series to my Goodreads. Thank you.😊
Thank you very much, and you're welcome! 😊 The cover is gorgeous, isn't it? And they're all such wonderful books! I really hope that young enjoy Jackaby! I would love to hear your thoughts once you start it. ⛄️❄️😊

Awesome Haul Aubrey!
Thank you so much!! 😊
I ordered City of Brass. Sounded interesting. I actually haven't gotten any books for quite a while. I only got a paperback of Little Women that I am reading now. What I do get a lot of are Blu-rays. Gotten about a dozen in the last month or so. I think last year I got closer to a 100 blu-rays. When your December book haul comes around are we going to get a total on the year for how many books you got? Also I think those are the copies of Lord of the Rings that my mother had. If they are the set I am thinking of Fellowship should have that picture of The Shire that Tolkien drew on it. Those were the copies that I read when I was a kid. Had to have a dictionary next to me to be able to get through because I wasn't a strong reader yet. I just had to try hard. Though that might be why I mispronounce a lot of things now. Never read much of Sanderson. Though I like his BYU lectures. I only read the first two books in Mistborn. My brother however is extremely excited to be getting Wind and Truth finally.
Little Women is such a good, cozy book. 😊 And I love to have physical media like blu-rays, dvds, etc. It's nice to know that you always have it available to watch. Gosh, I don't know about giving a yearly total. It might freak me out a bit to think about, haha! That's so cool that you read your mom's copies! I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings for the first time as a kid, as well. Then, I tried to read The Silmarillion when I was twelve. I only got about halfway through it before I gave up; I was just not ready for it yet. I've absolutely adored it since I read it in undergrad, though! I am also quite excited, though I'm sure I'm nowhere near as thrilled as those who are caught up on his books! I haven't looked into Sanderson outside of The Cosmere, but if I continue to love his books as much as I do Elantris, I may have to look into his lectures. 😊
@@AubreyLikestoRead I have been getting through Little Women at a decent pace for me. In the a few weeks I think I am on chapter 5. They had Christmas already, did the play and went to the party. Now I just need another 6 months and I can get through the next 35 chapters or so. I'll get there one day. And from a quick count I just did I got 130 blu-rays last year. With only counting complete box set blu-rays for shows as 1. If you counted each season on its own it would be about 170 or so. So there you go. Nothing to fear from saying what your yearly total will be. Now mine for this year will unfortunately be much lower because I did have to buy a car this year. Would have much preferred getting so many other things instead. Hopefully next year I will be able to afford to get a lot more. Even though I will have then filled out my shelves competetly if i did. If my mom had a copy of the Silmarillion when I was a kid I would have tried reading that too. Brandon's lectures are great. My brother started listening to his books when he had a job where he did data entry for old vet records. So he had 8 hours a day of going through files. And Brandon's long books were perfect to fit into that. I have a friend that constantly talks about Steelheart.
@@kevinhefley7287 Oof, I hate unexpected expenses. And expected ones when they're necessary rather than desired. Hopefully next year will be better for you! Also, sounds like you have quite the impressive collection! I don't have nearly that many blu-rays/dvds, but my brother does. He's a big movie buff and, like me, loves physical media. I hope that you're enjoying Little Women so far. That's all that matters, not how long it takes you to get through it. I have to remind myself of that a lot lately, haha. 😊
@@AubreyLikestoRead I am really loving it so far. It is sweet and sincere. In short supply of a lot of stories these days. I decided to order a box set of all the books. Two of which I think are what make Little Women in the copy I have from what I understand. But it also has Little Men and Jo's Boys. Never heard anything about them before. People only ever talk about Little Women. So I'm not sure if those two will be good or not. I am also going to watch the movies after I finish the book. A very interesting case study for adaptations since this book has had so many of them. Might get my niece a copy for Christmas or her birthday. Not that she ever reads. But it is nice to have the option for her. I also wish movies and shows had better options for physical media like books. Books get all sorts of prints. While I am lucky to get blu-ray for a lot of movies and shows are even less likely now with streaming. Like my favorite show of the Year was Shogun. Which would look absolutely beautiful in full 4k from a blu-ray. The bit rate would be leagues better than streaming it. But they aren't likely to ever release that.
@@kevinhefley7287 I agree completely! There are so many shows that I would love to own physically that just aren't readily available (if they are released physically at all.) And I know! It's so nice to encounter a wholesome story. I would love to continue the Little Women series at some point. 😊 And who knows! Maybe your niece will really like it! It only takes that one book to get someone into reading.
⭐🌟 So many beautiful new books! I really like the vintage Lord of the Rings editions, too bad you couldn't find a machting copy of The Fellowship of the Ring. My copy of "Candy" has not arrived yet, but seeing your copy got me even more excited. This month I've also got the first and second volume of "Heaven Official's Blessing", I hope I will love them and will get along with the writing, but I am very excited to finally give it a try. By the way your sweater looks so comfortable, I was admiring it all throughout this video. 🌟⭐
Thank you so much!! 😊 I got it at Old Navy (in the men's section, actually). I now have three sets that I need to find a matching copy of Fellowship for, so wish me luck! I'm so excited to finally have a copy of Candy, and I'm so excited for you to get yours!! And for you to start Heaven Official's Blessing! My copy of the first volume of the new hardcovers actually just came today, and it's SO pretty. You'll have to let me know when you start it. I really hope that you like it (partly so that I can continue to further my agenda of getting people to try my favorites, haha)! 😊⭐️💫
@@AubreyLikestoRead I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope you can finish all your LOTR sets. I guess it will be kind of like a treasure hunt! 😄 Definitely, I will let you know once I get started, I probably won't be getting to them in December, but I want to start reading the first volume in January for sure. I've bought the paperback editions for now, but I've been looking at those beautiful hardcovers online a lot. 😂
@@Mio_Lind Thank you! That's how I'm choosing to look at it, haha! 😊 The hardbacks are super pretty, but I love the cover art for the paperbacks, as well!
Wonderful video. I too will be starting Pillars of the Earth soon. Kitty sounds amazing. Cheers!
Thank you so much! 😊
I really enjoyed empire of the vampire 5 stars from me, and I must say the paperback is way less intimidating than the hardcover. The story is really good, and it isn't that dark of a book from my perspective. Hope you enjoy wen u get to read it. Also, omg the 2nd book in the dandelion dynasty is soo intimidating. I had picked it up from my library and it was hardpack and massive, I did a 360 and couldn't leave with it lol
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm very hopeful that I will like it, and people's positive comments have increased that hope, haha. The Dandelion Dynasty really seems like it will be right up my alley. I just need to find the time to devote to it, so I understand. While I love big books, I'm not always up to committing to them at a particular moment. 😅
Such a diverse haul ✨ I am picking up wind and truth today so very excited to see what you think about the cosmere as you read it!! That HOB box set is GORGEOUS
IT'S SO PRETTY. 🥰🥰 I'm so excited to get further into the Cosmere!! Elantris was great, so I can only imagine what his later works are like. 😊💫⭐️
@@AubreyLikestoRead def worth it even though every book he writes is the length of a trilogy. Also loved the sleepy cat what’s their name 🥰
@@GarrickReads I am super okay with long books, haha! 😊 And his name is Marcel. 🥰
Oooo! The Bartimaeus series is great! Good recommendation! I looove long videos! 🥹♥️ 🥧
Thank you so much!! 😊🥧 And yes, it's one of my favorites! 😄💜
I personally love the longer videos. With how positive you are it is great to listen you talk about books you love for whatever reason. Also that Wolf Brother book sounds interesting. I haven't read anything set in the prehistoric era that isn't a textbook. I also haven't read Narnia since I was a kid. I keep looking at the audiobook in my library because each book is narrated by someone different. Including Sir Patrick Stewart and Kenneth Branagh.
Thank you so much!! 😊 It is a really good middle-grade series! I really love the dynamics between the different characters, and the setting makes survival such an integral part of the story. That sounds really cool! I don't really listen to audiobooks because I have a number of podcasts that take up my listening time, but that's really tempting. Plus, it's always fun to revisit an old favorite. 😊
❤📚🍄❤️ I have The Bartimaeus series and need to read it! Great recommendations! I added The Angel of the Crows to my list. The Goblin Emperor is already on my list. 🤗 I look forward to part two! Thanks!
Thank you so much!! 😊 All three are SUCH amazing books/series! I'm so excited for you to read them! (And my plan to spread the love for Katherine Addison is working, haha.) 🍄🍄
@@AubreyLikestoRead Good job!! 😆
@@starlasell5698 Haha, thank you! 😄
The goblin empire aounds really cool!!
It's SO GOOD. Maia is one of my favorite characters! (Everyone should read Katherine Addison's books; they're so good, haha!) 😊
Just when I was making my winter tbr, thank you :)
You're very welcome! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!! 😊
Wow the Amulet of Samarkand unlocked a core memory of my cousin recommending me books when I was really young I should go back and reread it! Black Butler really has me curious might pick up vol 1 next time I buy manga. 🥧
You should! I've reread it several times, and it still really stands out for my as an adult. And Black Butler is just so addictive. It can be a little cringey at times, but I love the characters and the plot so much. 😊🥧
@@AubreyLikestoRead Read too much manga to let a lil cringe stop me
@@GarrickReads Haha, I understand that! 😄
