The best method to grow grass - a comparison of popular products on the market
In this video I test three of the popular grass growing products on the market today. I test Scotts EZ Seed, Hydro Mousse liquid lawn and, a grass seed mat roll. I tested them in both sunny and shady areas right next to each other so we can see which product works best. In addition to providing a review and recommendation I also show how to apply each product, how to prepare the area and how to maintain it in the first two weeks after the initial application.

      Thanks for watching. I am still using the downspout filter.. I figured 1: I already bought it so it couldn't hurt to keep it in. 2: The gutter guards are not perfect.. some dirt does get in (not a lot.. but not nothing) so I like it as a secondary layer of protection.

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 25 дней назад

      Good question. I don't have corners on my house so I was not able to show it. It is kind of a hybrid to how you do the ends and how you go from one gutter guard to the next.. you cut the front hard metal (the part that you are putting the screws into) only leaving the mesh, so that the hard pieces of metal on the two gutter guards touch and the metal mesh overlaps. Hard to explain in text but as I mentioned I am fortunate in this case to have no corners on my home.. I just have straight shots.

  • @dennisgibbs5708
    @dennisgibbs5708 26 дней назад

    Your video here is very good! One of the advertised “GutterLeafGuard” problems/complaints was when rain water freezes on cold days (32 degrees or less), the next rain will run over flow over the gutter guards and then onto the ground! This causes problems. Have you heard about this problem?

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 25 дней назад

      I think if it is draining correctly this should not happen. The water should go right into your gutter and then down your downspout. If water is pooling long enough to freeze I would assume there is a blockage.

The results I have had on extremely moldy, and fungus covered brick siding and wooden fences are unbelievable, but you must be patient. • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 3 месяца назад

      Oh it is not hard at all. You move it one way for more cold and the other for more hot. The difference with normal kitchen faucets and this one is that most normal kitchen faucets the temperature control is the same lever as turning the water on and off.. On this model they are separate.. so there is one lever for just turning the water on and then there is a separate control not tied to that which controls temp.

    So, you're unhappy with the product after 3 weeks. Here's my recommendation. Try reading the information that the manufacturer supplies with the product. It depends on the intensity of the contamination. If it is a lighter green growth, you will see results within 1-2 weeks. Otherwise, it may take 2-3 months to see improvement. In the very worst case scenario, where contamination is extreme, it may take 6-12 months to see results.

      So, it's now been 4 months. Still unhappy. And the manufacturer never says you will get a residue on your siding until you power wash it off. How long have you been the product manager for this product?

      Your misleading video was posted 3 weeks after you applied Wet & Forget to your siding. I don't recall seeing a follow-up video from you showing the condition of your siding after 4 months. In fact, your answer to another reply was to claim that your video shows residue on your siding "months" after the application, yet you say in the the very same video that its only been 3 weeks. I'm not a project manager for any product, but I can spot lame product reviews from a mile away.

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 4 месяца назад

      @@djk2063 As I type this it has been 4 months. And I can tell you that my upstairs still has the residue in areas that has not received hard rain (directly under the lip of the vinyl siding) or was too high for me to power wash. The manufacturer directly says "No Scrubbing Or Rinsing".. Well my video is to show other home owners that if you do not rinse it (power wash it) you will have visible residue on your home for some time (in my case months). This was not my only issue with the product. As mentioned the fan attachment that goes in the front of the spray so it can spray in a fan pattern broke almost immediately.. and the product did not reach the 30 feet it promised on the bottle. As to why no follow-up video.. it was not worth my time. I honestly did not get this product with any intention of reviewing it at all (most people are not going to search for reviews on a $30 product) but I had such a poor experience I decided to share my experience. My experience is one data point that people can use when making their decision. I am not the only person and I am not in position of authority. But others can use it as a data point if they wish. Note: the manufacture also says "Safe around plants and landscaping when used as directed"... well the "use as directed" is to rinse it off of plants immediately. So, if you want to go after someone for being misleading go after the manufacture for the safety around plants, the ability to reach 30 feet and giving the user the impression that they will have a clean house shortly after spraying it.

    W&F works slowly but permanently. It can take months to eliminate nature's stains. It's not a cleaner. It's an inhibitor. It worked for me on concrete. Bought 2 gallons of concentrate for $29.

    Mine came with 5.5 inch, is that normal? my gutter is 5 inch.

      I think that makes sense.. you do want it to be longer than the gutter. Just make sure you can both fit the back under the shingle and fit the front to the front of your gutter.

    Thank you for the video and the recommendation. Question: why didn't you overlap the pieces and just use one screw to pull them together??

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 6 месяцев назад

      Hm, I guess you *could* do that.. the only negative I would see is creating a little bit of a gap at the overlap point. And also using more material... but I think it could work..

    One question: at the end of the gutter, why fold the mesh inside rather than outside and secure it with a screw?

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 6 месяцев назад

      Hm, interesting idea.. I could totally see doing that. I think the only consideration is how easy / hard it might be to do that.. In my case, on my big roof that might be a difficult task.. but I can totally see it depending on each persons situation.

    I agree that these types of gutter guards do a great job of filtering out small debris like pine needles, dirt, leaf buds, berries etc. I have found that the trade off is that this type of debris sits on top of the gutter guard and clogs the micromesh. Because of the debris on top and how small the micromesh is and the steep pitch of your roof I think you’re at risk of the gutter guards being overwhelmed by heavy rains in which case the rain water overflows the edge of your gutter and you’re at risk of the water leaking into your basement. It would have been really helpful to see a video of things in action and footage during a hard rain to see whether the gutter guards restrict the water to the point of causing overflow over the sides of your gutter. I understand no one wants to take video high up on a ladder in a pouring rain and subject their phone or go pro from being ruined but that’s the real test.

      I can see your point. I can say that on my lower roof I have seen some pine needles that do tend to stay on the lower part of the gutter guards (never fully covering it) but that is only on my lower roof which roof to gutter is very low slope so the gutter guard is close to being flat.. On my higher roofs the slope is much greater. On those I do not see any debris that stay on the gutter guard. I would anticipate on others higher roofs this would also be the situation. The company does also offer a brush on an adjustable pole for cleaning debris.

      Thanks so much. I believe 5" gutters are the "standard" that are on most houses. I am not sure in what situations other sizes are used.
