    Polesphere looks soooo good! The regressions, progressions, and other tricks in a similar family bit makes me think of it as the grammar/linguistics of pole dance! I would be one to do the quizzes.

    I've choreographed one routine for myself for pole so far (previously choreographed marching band a couple decades ago). Since the music I was using was instrumental, I printed out copies of the sheet music to mark up with move cues for specific bars. This is very different from how one of my teachers choreographs, but we each find what works for us, and my system may change in future depending on the songs and type of routine I'm aiming for.

    What Jake was saying about 3x/week for 12 weeks and it not being regulated is horrible. In Canada, appointment costs are generally regulated, at the provincial level, but there are still practices that charge different rates and employ the unethical practices you've discussed.

    All signed up for the flexibility workshop, can’t wait! Loved the summer series. Quick q for the workshop - will it be covering how the lower back is involved in the pancake stretch/split? It’s interesting to me that when we sit on a yoga block and do a pancake stretch vs not sit on a block, the range of motion in your lower back changes so much. I would be curious about unlocking the flexibility we get when sitting on a block, off the block!

    I like this explanation of why Jamilla should be saved for higher level beginners to intermediate polers. Would you also recommend for instructors to wait on full bracket spins like carousel and boomerang? Or is the strain on the wrist safe for most students because of the full extension?

    Thanks for talking about TENS in regards to pain relief. TENS has also been touted as a recovery aid - what does the literature say about it in this aspect (and do you have any thoughts on it?)

    • @thepolephysio
      @thepolephysio Год назад

      Great question. There is no strong evidence to suggest TENS is effective as a recovery aid from exercise. Everything that suggests it may be helpful in improving DOMS is purely subjective and personal opinion. But again, the good news is that using TENS in recovery doesn’t cause harm. So we aren’t strongly for ‘using it’ to aid in recovery, but we aren’t strongly ‘against it’ either. There are more important things to focus on in recovery - ie sleep, nutrition etc (doi.org/10.1016/j.jpain.2022.05.004). However there is some to suggest TENS may have some benefit in rehabilitation/strengthening. For those who have poor muscle recruitment (ie. mild nerve damage), TENS can be very helpful at recruiting these muscles during rehabilitation & helping to recover the nerve. And there’s evidence in the works to determine whether it’s helpful in improving performance in professional athletes/those with decent baseline strength. We will hopefully know more on this within a few more years. What’s been done so far isn’t the most robust research, but it’s a good start & showing promise in this area. doi.org/10.1080/17461391.2022.2107437

    Oh wow! I so much love this series. Thank you for this high quality and for free content! Listening to you is like meeting the nerdy pole friends I have not yet found in my studio. It's so interesting how you are depuzzeling movements and the exercises are a great bonus which I already added to my warm up routine. It's handy that you're showing the cheating positions as well and talk in detail through the exercises. I could relate a lot to the common problems as rolling up toes and cramping in quads instead of having nice lines. Getting hints where to work on keeps me motivated to improve my off the pole work. Thank you so much again - I take a huge out of that content. Big hugs from Germany <3

    I love this and can totally vouch for Simone and Dani's amazing help! I have an ankle injury and this is so very educational. I'm interested to know how you might deal with curling toes (as in when the foot is resting the toes naturally curl under) making that point exercise hard to get straight toes?

    • @thepolephysio
      @thepolephysio Год назад

      Thanks Laura for the comment! It's been our pleasure to help you on your rehab journey. Most of the time the way to fix curling toes is to practice. We'll get good as we go along, we're never going to be perfect to start and these things can take time. But you can use your spare hand to manually help correct the too when first learning.

    How many reps for each exercise? Thanks for interesting topic 😉

    • @thepolephysio
      @thepolephysio Год назад

      The answer will always depend on the individual and the demands that they place their ankles/feet under. We suggest focusing less on reps on beginning and focusing on nailing technique instead. Once nailing technique you can gradually build up your resistance to fatigue.
