I am just thinking, I work at a medical ward with a specialty in endo, I am a LPN (or what goes for lpn's where I live) and a lot of our patients either have or develop delirium while in the hospital. The main cure for delirium is sleep. Fortunately my country does not preround and the round is one doctor and one nurse talking to the patient about what was found, what the patient wants to happen, and plans for the future.

Honestly, at this point I'm not surprised that House usually tends to go for the "rare" diseases/conditions first, when normally we'd assume something simpler. It's like an oncologist thinking everything's cancer or at least a symptom of one. Given his backstory, and his penchant to be more intrigued about difficult cases, it tracks. I love your reaction!

The scene where Monica has the Turkey on her head to make Chandler laugh, then Joey sees her and runs away screaming is one of the funniest moments in the entire series. Monica was equally OCD before the weight loss. If you are using a real tree at Christmas, putting it up that early (You said Nov 3rd?) is risky. Real trees get very dry, even if you have it in water, creating a serious fire hazard inside of your home (that is also covered in lights. How old are your Christmas tree lights? Super dry tree and old wires plugged in to the wall socket is a recipe for disaster). Ask a firefighter friend about this. Their eyes will get very wide with concern.

The fact that Wilson asks House to risk his life, then ends up blaming House for Amber dying is ridiculous, it always upset me when I watch this episode. House didnt call Amber, didnt ask her to come get him, didnt cause her illness or give her the pills that killed her and he had nothing to do with the bus crash. I know people experiencing loss look for blame, but this blame was well beneath Wilson's character.

Often times in TV and movies they will re-use existing characters in certain roles in order to reduce the introduction an exit of secondary or tertiary characters. House having the conversation with Cuddy instead of the surgeon is not only common, but pretty standard. When you have an hour or 2 to tell a story, extra characters for one scene instead of established characters is generally frowned upon. A common example of this is in war movies. They will often have the same sergeant who was a recruit's drill instructor follow the recruit into combat. Trainers in the military do just that. When one group makes it through boot camp that instructor gets ready for the next group of trainees. DIs dont train one group then go off to war with that group (like Vince Vaughn in Hacksaw Ridge, never happen. Vince would have just moved on to the next training class.. Also the commander of the training unit went to war with the trqainees as well. Training in the military is very specialized, and the training officers and NCOs train class after class, they dont train one class and ship out with them, even back in WW2). Giving established characters scenes instead of transitioning to an all new character mid-story is the norm.

I think they were "trying" the cardiac thump but I don't think it would help if his heart stopped. But then again in a different episode House stopped breathing and had a weak pulse but instead of laying him flat and getting a crash cart Foreman rips open House's shirt and twists his nipples and House comes to...

Isn't there a way to restore blood flow to the muscle but instead of letting the blood pump into the bloodstream, you run it through a machine first to clean the bacteria, necrotic tissue, etc. Like they do in a dialysis machine?

This show was/is the best medical show. It was the most realistic.

I had a diabetic that woke up while I was giving him D50, and he held a gun to my head. After everything was said and done the police asked me if I wanted to press charges, I was like “why, he had no idea what he was doing and thought I broke into his house.” I will say, just because I in no way held it against him, it still affected me mentally, and I wasn’t even injured in anyway. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have those type of injuries.

Notice dr cox by freakish coincidence says (don’t worry he’s not going to die in the next 30 minutes) he asks JD to do tests on Ben, within 30 minutes Ben dies, talk about a twist of fate if I ever saw one

If I remember right, this patient had been awake for days because he was a law student. He perceived the MDs of stabbing him in the back when doing the LP, so they called a psych consult but the pt stabbed the MDs in the back like he thought they did to him. He came back years later, and was lucid and super calm, but it threw Carter in a major PTSD episode. It’s been a LONG time since I saw this season but that is what I remember.

I've had therapists give me their number (Im in the Netherlands, for context) but the number is for their workphone, they have it on during workhours (outside of meetings/appointments ofcourse) but I've only ever texted those numbers if I was running late for an appointment or something

*01:47** A former friend of mine lost one of his in the strangest way I mean logistically it just doesn't sound right but I'll explain best I can as I wasn't there. He lived in a caravan & was drunk & I assume naked, he was going to the toilet in the middle of the night & somehow in the process of opening the door he slipped & closed it on his crotch & ended up having to have it surgically removed when he got to the hospital. Another friend had to have his put back in when he had an accident try to shave downstairs, he ran downstairs with no pants on cupping his nether before showing his dad what he'd done, his ball was literally in his hand with blood everywhere & we ended up having to go to hospital & missing a party that was apparently "an amazing night".*

*In 2009 me & my friends chipped in for the Ricky Hatton v Manny Pacquiao PPV. I rode my BMX downhill with no breaks, my friends mother was pulling out of the drive & before I knew it I was sailing over her car & landing on the next door neighbours. Her mother came rushing to my side as I slid off the bonnet climbing to my feet awkwardly, she insisted I go to hospital, I said I was fine & wanted to watch the fight & get drunk with my friends, luckily the fight ended early as I felt sick, I stood up too fast & my friend screams I turn round to see what she's screaming at, there's blood all over the sofa & I finally drop. waking up in an ambulance with someone pressing a towel on the back of my head, finally get seen to after another hour of waiting in & out of consciousness, a surgeon comes in & I am put under anesthetic after signing a form. I wake up hours later & the doctor tells me how foolish & lucky I was, I had a 1.3 Inch shard of glass pulled from the back of my head.*

This is one change that like that they made. In the game you actually see Bill and he's alive and Frank and Bill had a fight and Frank ended up dying... less nicely when he went off on his own. This was much better and more impactful. Though you miss some great Ellie and Bill interactions.
