Can you daily drive a squarebody?

Can we take this 1980 c10 converted to a k10 with a 6.2 turbo diesel and make it a reliable daily driver? The c10 was converted to 4wd 25 years ago. Originally a 5.7 diesel, we dropped in a 6.2 diesel with a banks turbo charger.

It sure looks like they copied the Chevrolet Mark Four heads, almost exactly.
That’s like saying the LS is a copy of the 351w
@@RustyDreamsGarage that's stupid talking. Why? Compare horse power output.. Compare engine swaps, put an ls in everything, swap a 351w into nothing.
@@clarkpolinski5775 because the LS has commonly been called a copy of the 351w…

@RustyDreamsGarage I was an A.S.E. certificated mechanic before I went to aircraft school and worked on heavy jets. Go find your diaper, wipe your do-do, take a chil pill, then converse like you are intelligent... what big block engine dominates most of drag racing? Change your diaper and shut the F up.
Never seen a longbed step side before looks great on the truck
@@Zack-smith thanks! 🫡

Tortoise and the hare
Those old Chevy diesel trucks were always underpowered yet still get trashed out
The turbo helps wake it up. Similar to a stock sbc 350 of the same year but with considerably more torque.

We need more update videos!
More in the works!
These videos are cool but that music is terrible
someone gutted my shaker, I was horrified to figure out that it was a 1200 dollar option to fix/replace it. the seal alone scares me with that $300 price.
@@natejones963 torinos aren’t cheap to work on. The aftermarket mustang midplate is the same as the Torino and can be used.
@@RustyDreamsGarage I’m well aware. My 71 GT for just a set of replacement springs were $700. It’s nuts how much stuff is. But I’ll never sell it so it’s worth it to me to fix and enjoy the car
Good video! Guess youtube knows of my own 70 1/2 falcon two door. I love having people try and guess what it is, so far only one hardcore ford guy knew exactly what it was out of the hundreds that have called it all sorts of things
sound has gon ttfn&ty
On it’s first move from Alabama to Roanoke, I took photos of her when she stopped in Greensboro. I sold bunches of 8 x 10s to the local rail fans
When was that? It looks like it might have been back in the '80s or '90s.
I'm not sure of the date exactly. But, it's definitely between 86 and 91. (The locomotive was brought out of service in 91 for repairs and was still out of service when the steam program ended in 1994)
I believe it was 1987
Nothing can beat the Sight and Sound of a steam locomotive
Big Joe.
First time seeing this thanks for posting 👍👍👍
Nice. A 1968 model with strike wheels? Nice. Those wheels are rare.
What socket did you use
Love the video. Also the game show music from the 70's.
Got any Steam Locomotive Videos.
At some point soon. The great thing about my channel is the variety 😊
I love the Norfolk & Western Railway ever since I saw their company produced video Operation Fast Freight and today I now have all 9 Herron Rail N&W DVD's and even some O scale models of them (2 As, 1 E2, 1 Y6b, 1 Y3a, 2 GP9s, 1 K, 2 Js)
Looking factory fresh👍
What is the total cost for parts
Who knows anymore
Calling jets injectors is calling a magazine a clip.
These aren’t the jets lol. Those are the injectors. Literally called the injector housing
Plunger/pump isn't clean either
It’s perfectly clean
NOT INJECTORS BUT RATHER ARE JETS!! THIS ONE SYSTEM WITHIN THE CARBURETOR IS THE ACCELERATION PUMP!
Wrong. These aren’t the jets lol. Those are the injectors. Literally called the injector housing
Back in the good ol' days before spray paint!
The cars look so much better without the spray can vandalism.
It's awesome to see rare footage containing original audio of the C&O Alleghenies' hooter whistles, which demonstrates how some of them had short-bell hooters while others had long-bell ones. Fun fact: The long-bell hooters were made by Nathan and were the same hooters used on the B&O EM-1s and some of the T-3 4-8-2s, also in the video.
You are correct. Some of the T3 Mountains on the B&O had Nathan single chime whistles just like the EM-1's did. The C&O Allegheny type had the same Nathan whistles but half of them had the small high pitched hooter whistles
Would you do Steam In the 50's & 60's ( Green Frog productions ) Please.

Get a gear drive
The new timing chain will do just fine
@@RustyDreamsGarage Agree. Remember many of those original 70s era ford chains quitting. Gear drives are accurate but not for everybody
Prodigious! Especially enjoyed the incidental Virginian Railway exposures and the brave dog house brakemen. Skip Salmon Turkey Bottom Roanoke

what’s the brand of that camper shell or the dimensions
I’m not sure, I think it’s a Leer. My grandpa bought it the same day he bought the truck brand new.
Did you figure it out? Mine is doing the same thing with a lean code on bank2 followed by a misfire on cylinder 5

I happen to have a copy of the Popular Science magazine from March 1952 which has a large illustrated article about "Jawn Henry". It is worth the read if you can find a copy.
