UNRESOLVED: Corlys and Rhaenys supporting Rhaenyra
One aspect of season 1 of House of the Dragon that puzzled many viewers was the rapid shift in Corlys and Rhaenys’s support for Rhaenyra. Despite her numerous slights against them-having an affair with Ser Harwyn Strong, bearing illegitimate children not fathered by Laenor, and being implicated in Laenor’s murder (at least from the perspective of Corlys and Rhaenys)-they seem to forgive and support her without much hesitation. These significant betrayals should have been difficult for Corlys and Rhaenys to overlook, and yet they do. What’s worse is that the show provides weak justifications for their decision, making it feel rushed and unresolved. Therefore, in this video, I explore this ...

Who is CREGAN STARK & why is he IMPORTANT???
Просмотров 10 тыс.14 часов назад
Cregan Stark is an important character in the Dance of Dragons, fiercely supporting Rhaenyra’s cause and becoming one of her most pivotal allies in the war for the Iron Throne, but he is actually even more important for the role that he plays after the war is done. As Hand of the King and regent to the young Aegon, he manages to bring swift justice to the poisoners of Aegon II and he secures th...
What will happen in SEASON 2 of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON???
Просмотров 5 тыс.День назад
On March 21st, two House of the Dragon trailers dropped: one from the Black perspective and one from the Green. This brilliance of the marketing actually mirrors the war of the Dance of the Dragons itself, splitting the realm into Rhaenyra's Black supporters and Aegon's Greens. The trailers suggest that the show will explore this divided narrative in a full and nuanced manner - but what exactly...
The Historical Inspirations for Fire & Blood
Просмотров 5 тыс.Месяц назад
We all know that George RR Martin draws from historical events and characters when he writes his 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books. We know that he was inspired by the Wars of the Roses for The War of the Five Kings, and that many of the characters in his main books’ stories were inspired by characters from the same time period as that civil war (e.g. Tyrion Lannister was clearly inspired by Richa...
THE TRAGIC LIFE OF VISERYS III
Просмотров 16 тыс.2 месяца назад
Viserys III is a terrible person, both in the books and on the tv show. He is cruel and vain and a classical bully - some might even say he is a downright villain. However, is it possible that there are reasons for Viserys’s behaviours? Is it possible that Viserys’s cruelty is as a result of his circumstances? We know that Viserys wasn’t always cruel to Daenerys and that there are passages thro...

Though the character has many flaws, there are still many book fans that find him to be intriguing due to his effective leadership. They are fascinated by Tywin’s feats: winning the War of the Five Kings, forging alliances, and uniting the Seven Kingdoms under Lannister rule. It’s becaus...
Is House of the Dragon a WOKE show??? (or the influence of MODERN POLITICS)
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.2 месяца назад
Is House of the Dragon ‘woke’? There are some fans who certainly believe so, especially those who are more familiar with the contents of George RR Martin’s books. They believe that House of the Dragon is riddled with ‘woke’ agendas ranging from race-swapping characters for the sake of diversity and inclusion (instead of for the sake of good and cohesive storytelling, for example), all the way t...
Why RHAENYRA WAS WRONG for sleeping with SER CRISTON
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
In the fourth episode of House of the Dragon, there's a scene portraying Rhaenyra engaging in intimate relations with Ser Criston Cole. The show presents this moment as a tender moment between the two characters, but the reality is far from sweet. This scene only shows just how selfish and reckless Rhaenyra truly is. She’s completely willing to jeopardize Ser Criston’s life for her own desires,...
Was MAEGOR THE CRUEL a NECESSARY EVIL for the Targaryen Dynasty

Maegor the Cruel, a tyrant in Westerosi history, ruled with unparalleled brutality, instilling fear through gruesome violence and savage terror. While his reign saw widespread torture and massacres, some argue that it was a necessary evil and they suggest that his harsh methods were crucial to crush rebellions and eliminate threats to the Targaryen regime. In this video, I try to delve deeper i...
Is AEMOND an evil VILLAIN???
Просмотров 14 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Is Aemond truly the villain history paints him to be? If you've delved into the books, chances are you'd say 'yes.' However, the show does flip the script, revealing a more nuanced character with Aemond. We see his childhood hardships and his distant relationship with his father, and this provides some insights on the character that make him a lot more fascinating and complex. He is no longer t...
Why is DAERON TARGARYEN an important character in the DANCE OF DRAGONS???

Daeron Targaryen, the youngest of Viserys I and Alicent Hightower's children, stands out as the most popular and beloved son amongst her brood. He is known for his gentle demeanour and his valour as a dragon warrior during the Dance of Dragons. Fiercely loyal, he and his blue she-dragon, Tessarion, secured many victories for the Greens, earning him the moniker 'Daeron the Daring.' However, desp...
Why is RICKON STARK such an IMPORTANT CHARACTER in the books
Просмотров 53 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Rickon's significance in the A Song of Ice and Fire series often goes unnoticed, creating a sense of mystery around his role in the story. The Game of Thrones show, unfortunately, failed to grasp this, resulting in a baffling and unsatisfying exit for Rickon. However, in 'The Winds of Winter,' it's likely that Rickon will take centre stage, leaving readers curious about the importance of his ro...

He embodies justice, duty, and unwavering determination, making him one of the most captivating side-characters in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. It's these qualitie...
Why the GREEN FACTION deserves to rule the Seven Kingdoms
Просмотров 17 тыс.7 месяцев назад
The Green faction is very dutiful, and this leads them to believing in Aegon's cause as the rightful one over Rhaenyra's. They believe that Aegon's legitimacy is based on Andal and Valyrian customs, as well as the historical precedent that’s established through Targaryen history. It also helps that Aegon’s claim is backed by important symbols that bolster the Green faction’s authority to rule. ...
ALL the times that OTTO HIGHTOWER was RIGHT in House of the Dragon
Просмотров 18 тыс.8 месяцев назад
On a previous video, I spoke about how the show was biased against the characters of the Green faction, and how Otto Hightower was made to seem like a cold and slimy father and political player in the game of thrones. It is because of this portrayal of Otto (the fact that it makes him so unlikeable) that many people often overlook his sage council and advise throughout the season. There are man...

The funniest thing about the whole raceswap thing is that they make the Velaryons black for diversity. Then proceed to write out one of the most prominent actual black characters from the dance lmao.

Or, he sat on his hands and stayed North of the neck for as long as possible. He then came South and (figuring the warring was over) tried to dictate terms in the capital. Secured fiefdoms and positions of status for all the baseborn lads and second sons who came with him. Leveraged the life of Lord Corlys to secure a noble southern bride. Fucked off when it became evident he couldn’t squeeze anything more out of the gig. Didn’t do a single thing for Rhaenyra whilst she was alive? Needed convincing to uphold House Stark’s vow to defend her claim? Traitor in my opinion. Perhaps even a secret Green.

It's unbelievable how people love team black. I also respect what Vesris did about making rhaenyra heir . Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she can't rule. The reason i changed my mind is her wanting to lrt her bastards rule. Yes ageon was no better and raped people to but rhaenyra raped sir criston at a young age Literally everyone in team green expect otto and ageon are better than everyone on team black

I think a major point is being missed here, the Hightower's should never had meddled with the throne especially when the reigning power are mad, dragon wielding psychopaths'. Just by studying their history, Otto should never have pushed his daughter to marry a man as indecisive as Viserys with a an insane brother like Daemon.

Well, I feel like there’s nothing to little difference from their characters in TV show and books. They took similar decisions under similar circumstances. SPOILER; Corlys will change sides and in the season Finale, he expressed how discontent he was with Rhaenyra. So it’s not like it’s blind loyalty.

Great video, I agree Rhaenys suddenly being for team black was done poorly. In regards to having children with Laenor, I believe the best solution would have been to have Laenor’s cousin bed Rhaenyra that way the children look legit, will have Valeryon blood, and the uncle that calls Rhaenyra kids out would be satisfied since his blood would be on the throne and that way he wouldn’t accuse them of being bastards.
