@andysmith3125 it depends on the report that comes with the car. If it doesn't have a report or has an essential report, then you can't make a claim. Whereas an assured report you can. However, I've bought cars with engine problems that haven't been declared and have argued to BCA that serious faults should be declared at all times - they disagreed obviously as they can make more money if bidders think there's no faults. I've been meaning to sign up to G3. Are they any good?

@andysmith3125 that's how Ibstarted out to be fair - mainly Ebay and FB. But the amount of cars being sold not as described were unreal. Although BCA doesn't list all the faults, you can bid what you want so I only put low ball bids on

@blairarcher8952 depending on age, I either offer an official warranty or a gentleman's agreement. I've always helped customers out no matter the problem. Luckily, I rarely encounter any problems once I've sold a car

@loopyloutube2 I'll do a video at some point showing my process. I scroll through all of the auction sites close to me for auctions for the following day. I save all cars I'd be interested in putting a bid on. I then scroll through pictures for damage, check any reports highlighting any mechanical issues and then conduct MOT checks. Once I'm happy, I then chuck loads of low ball bids on all of them in the hope of winning at least one. And that's pretty much my process 🤣

@parvinkukar1259 the rip was just too big to sew up so I just left it. I couldn't find a replacement seat with the same pattern so I just highlighted it in the description. I find the trick to FB marketplace is deleting the ad (not reposting) and readvertising every 2 or 3 days. Seems to work. If I get messages asking what the best price is then I ask them to come and view and make an offer. Usually don't get a response back 🤣

@@carsnstuffuk that’s a trick I do as well, but I find auto trader much better customers and happy to cost in the extra £30 or so for a couple of weeks. Great content keep it up

@parvinkukar1259 auto trader is much better and more genuine buyers. I pay £45 as it stays on there until it's sold. I just put it on FB first as it's free and to be fair, there's where I sell most cars anyway

@michaeltaylor1553 there's still auction fees to pay at BCA to be fair. The more you buy, the better the membership with reduced fees. You've still got to be careful with what you buy at BCA too as it's quite rare every problem is disclosed.

To be fair, I've been speaking throughout most of my videos. For some reason I decided against it until the last part of the video - won't be making that mistake again 🤣

@andysmith3125 Is that on FB marketplace? Keep deleting and reposting (dont refresh). I find decent pics can make the world of difference to an ad too. To be fair, I mainly focus on cars under 100k mls though

When you advertise on FB marketplace, I find if you keep deleting the advert and relisting then it bumps it back up. I do this every few days

Do you advertise as Trade sale rather than a private sale? I guess you have trade insurance and plates.

@iampaulnorris I don't advertise as either. I just explain when a customer turns up and they're OK with it. Never had anyone turn away because I'm a trader - think it's just good being honest. I always tell them its within my interest to make sure the car is in a good sellable condition with minimal issues. You won't get that with a private sale normally. And yes, both trade insurance and plates 👍

@SimonWarden-y3m I am indeed so I add it to my insurance before driving it away. This is a hibby/part time gig I'm doing too but definitely recommend taking out trade insurance as you'll find you'll be adding more than 1 vehicle at a time so it's very handy to have

I usually avoid reports that have any liquid (oil or coolant) and any engine warning signs. So mainly a clean report or ones without a report that doesn't have any declarations of any issues. I then put loads of proxy bids in and hope I get something dead cheap. Leaves me with enough wiggle room in case anything goes wrong

@mellennialmindset6379 that sounds quite a lot! I used quotezone who contacted a number of insurers on my behalf so I just went with the best quote at the time. I live in Gloucestershire, have £7,500 indemnity (value of each vehicle) and can have up to 10 vehicles. I think location has a huge impact on price to be honest.

@owenadams9122 no not really to be honest. I've had ups and downs with most on there. This Skoda was from Johnsons group and an engine light came on almost straight away - so it makes you wonder if the main dealers delete the codes and then chuck them through the auction...

@opeyemiosho5441 FB, Ebay and autotrader. Mixed results really. I advertise on FB for a 1 week or 2 because it's free, I then advertise on autotrader and if I still haven't sold it after a couple of months, then it goes on Ebay either as a buy it now/best offer or an auction

@dominic77999 the fees are quite high to begin with but the more cars you buy the better the membership. I started on blue, silver and now on gold so fees are still quite high but not as bad.

@johnmattock1 No they include VAT. Unless you buy commercial vehicles. Final price doesn't include auction fees though

@anthonyward1698 Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. At the end of each tax year, I have a spreadsheet that includes all overheads (trade insurance, cleaning materials, accountant etc). Each video highlights the profit on each vehicle without these overheads but it wouldn't be too much added on top to be fair anyway as I average around 40 to 50 a year

@ElCaminooo thanks mate, really appreciate it! Trade insurance is probably going to set you back around £1500 for the first year depending on what options you choose, location etc. I don't have a website as I mainly use FB, Ebay and autotrader.

Still have to give a 3 month warranty as a trader by law.

@dailylifefactuk more of a gentleman's agreement with the cheaper stuff really. If anything goes wrong I just tell the customer to come to me and I can use my local garage. More expensive stuff (£4k upwards) I use a warranty company called Handler Protect. Haven't made any claims yet so can't vouch for them

@carsnstuffuk I used to be a full time dealer about 15 years ago but I rarely used auctions, always bought private or off the trade but it was a lot of messing about viewing a lot of crap and took up a lot of time so be good to buy online, just a bit worried buying a lemon, are faults listed on the cars? So say I bought a car and the engine management light was on or clutch was slipping for example would I have any sort of means not to pay for it if the fault wasn't listed?

Thanks for watching, it's much appreciated. I don't advertise as either if I don't have to. I just explain when I communicate with the potential buyer and 9 times out of 10 they're fine with it. If anything, it's better selling as a trader as it's in my interest to ensure the car is in tip top shape for the new owner rather than a private buyer flogging it because it's got issues.

@stevePC cheers mate. Whatever works for you- it's all trial and error anyway. Some cars sell better than others and if it wasn't for the mileage I doubt I would've had much interest to be fair

Great flip, and personally I would of got out a needle and thread and closed up the cigarette hole just to take the eye off it and treated it a fresh set of hub caps as they only cost around £10. Where do you advertise, fb marketplace, auto trader etc?

@parvinkukar1259 I've tried and failed miserably with sewing in the past 🤣 If they weren't original trims then I would've changed them so I try and save the originals where I can and keep cars as original as possible.

Oh and Facebook and eBay mainly. Autotrader very rarely.
