- Welcome to the @Cars 'N' Stuff channel where we're starting off our RUclips journey to try and showcase how we buy and sell cars.
In this video, we're showing how we made just under £6,00 by making the car more presentable and doing a few things to it.
On this occasion, we've bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S (R56) with 96k miles. We've purchased it for £2,090.40 along with paying a for an MOT, service, tyres and travelling - that figure soon became £2,456.40
Now, until we arrive, we don't know what shape it's in (pictures from BCA aren't the best) so I always go expecting the worse.
However, to my surprise, it's in pretty good condition and it drove like a dream!
After posting it for sale, at £3,250, it was soon snapped up by a lovely local couple and we did a deal at £3,000 - making £560 profit in just 2 days.

Who do you use for your trade insurance
@Paul Hussey I contact a few brokers each year but Markerstudy have been the cheapest for the past few years

Do you have a channel too? I'd be happy to subscribe! I don't do any mechanics as I'd cause more problems for myself. Luckily I have a garage that gives me a good discount with the amount of work I throw their way

Great informative video mate! What is the best trade insurance to go for if your under 25? I’m trying to make the step up to BCA so now looking into trade insurance
Thanks mate. I highly recommend Markerstudy but I'm unsure on the under 25 bit. Best thing to do is Google trade insurance and use a comparison site

hi, really helpful videos, am starting car flipping in Dudley as well. Could you please enlighten me regarding insurance ? do you pay for 1 day insurance or other options ?
Hi mate, I have a trade insurance policy so just Google search it and a broker will probably be in touch. That'll work out cheaper than just taking out a 1 day policy overall as you'll need it to be insured on test drives etc.

@Earl I started off paying around £1500 (unlimited cars and £5k car values) but you soon make that up with the profit you make over the course of a year. I pay just over £800 now with max car value of £7500
Do you have to open an LTD or sole trader to buy from BCA? or you can just get trader insurance and this is enough?
I'm a sole trader with trade insurance. You can open a Ltd business but I haven't yet. However I might do in the future depending on how well I do
@@carsnstuffuk as a solo trader what if you sell cars and break even or lose money does it affect you as a solo trader in terms of taxes and company revenue?
@Pollux it'll count as a loss so you'll pay less tax. Don't want too many of those though but it happens from time to time
@@carsnstuffuk thanks for sharing your tips, yes like I've bought 3 cars from Copart and all 3 cars have timing chain change required, so it cost me 1200£ to fix it (each car), and all 3 sold out at a loss, that's why I'm wondering, how you approach it if you get such problem.
@Pollux that's why I don't buy from Copart as you can see the bodywork that needs doing but they never mention any engine issues. Sorry to hear that mate

Just some advice about commentary. .. obviously you read it but the art is to make it sound like you are just talking "off the cuff" hope that helps.
Appreciate the advice mate. I've tried and still learning to be honest. I'm sure I'll get there eventually but will prob take a bit of time
