@FloofyOneTorpheus Even just the way that's handled is so compelling. It's heavily implied, although I believe the news only mentions Rupert dying and not his family. It's like an eye for an eye, but once you hurt kids, you cross the ultimate line. The point of no return he was almost forced into for trying to do some good in the world. As a man, how do you not avenge your family by hurting the monster in the way they hurt you but in doing so becoming the same monster. We know he isn't a total monster cause if he was, maybe that little girl would not still be alive. It's complicated, but that's why it's so effective.

Totally missed them saying "along with his wife and 2 children." Thought they were going for more ambiguity than they actually were. Still super compelling.

Considering the timeline of events, I think he could legitimately claim to have been out of his right mind. He had just been forced to see his dead wife and child, been told he would be framed for their murder after coating his hands in their blood, and then was stuffed into a machine which irradiated him into a flaming green skeleton that could melt through walls. Not justifying him murking the kids by any means, but the fact that it was done in the heat of the moment after such a traumatic event does give him some room to redeem himself in my opinion.

@kitsunekage12 Exactly. I think that conflict is so compelling. The way he's punished by Thorne for skewing the data and how it escalates is executed so well in such little time. Like a steady stream of salt on a wound. I was wincing when Rupert made him see his family massacred. As he taunted him before atomizing him. All that trauma. Becoming a monster. Numbing the pain through crime. No excuse to hurt kids right, but it's like you can understand how and why he could do something that horrific. The father/husband in him telling him no and yes to revenge, simultaneously. Rupert in a way turned alex into a monster inside and out. I think how they portrayed him as this violent, almost wildcard up until the little girl who woke up in the middle of the night. He was worried she would give up his location, but he still didn't hurt her or her parents despite how gruesome we knew him to be. I think that was to tell us he still has some humanity left in there.

Of criticisms to make of him that one is pretty valid. Although I think most of the changes he makes are good and add depth to the characters, like with Polka dot Man. Except with Drax, but despite the changes I've always felt, he did his best to service them, and succeeded most of the time. Superman's gunna be the real test, but I trust him. Idk I feel like frankenstein is a decent contemporary adaptation from the Mary Shelley novel. He hated Victor, lashes out violently, and yearns for love. Meat and potatoes stuff with Gunns spin. Of the few DC comics I've read with him in it, he is admittedly way more stoic. I'm compelled tho. If you aren't, it's cool

@ryanhau1073 That's what I'm assuming as well. Almost similar to like Homelander and/or The Penguin, where you understand them but don't really feel bad for them. You also hate them but are extremely entertained while watching them. It's good they're not forgetting to make someone a genuine monster/villain. I think the same will be said about phosphorus in the upcoming ep.

@ComicConcept with Phoshorus, going to guess they will try to make him some kind of medium between a Flawed Yet Sympathetic and Completely Irredeemable Monster, if they can pull it off might make a more interesting character.

@camrontaysom6512 After the response I saw on Thursday, I felt even more confident it'll hit the billion dollar mark. I know the sentimentality Gunn injected in all his prior projects is perfect for Superman, and his sense of action is also pretty underrated. I'm biased of course, but the only way I see it not doing a bil is the impact from Jurassic World and F4. Superman's the template tho, so if anyone can do it, it's him 🙌

If it doesn't hit a billion, it'll still come close like Oppenheimer because Superman may have it's own Barbie with Jurrasic World

@ComicConcept Totally agree, though I'm very biased as well. The way I see it, Jurassic World has dinos and that's cool, but those moves haven't been especially great and the brand is stale. F4 is a coin toss at best because the Marvel/Disney brand is very damaged and has a lot of baggage. I don't think Captain Falcon America will do it any favors either. The F4 are popular, sure, but nowhere near Superman levels. And we DC fans are a whole different breed as well lol. Superman is the embodiment of the best of humanity, given form. That's a powerful draw, and DC's marketing team clearly knows how to cook with it. Gunn truly wants to bring the fans home, and I am so here for it 🙌🦸

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed it for the most part, but the ending soured the movie for me. But that's a good mentality to have for movies. That's my mindset towards the flash. I really like it, but a lot of people think it's trash, but I couldn't give af lol.

I agree, but you also have to understand this is most likely DC last chance to compete with marvel and DC fans first time that a product features a canonically inspired in the comic DC product that isnt a tv series or an animated movie
