Barring some catastrophic misstep from Gunn and co., I don't see how this movie doesn't have a billion dollar box office. Hope and positivity ruled the Internet the day that trailer dropped and you can't make that many grown men cry (myself included) from simply watching a teaser trailer and not expect it to have massive implications come July 11. DC and Superman in particular are back in a big way and it's about damn time.

@camrontaysom6512 After the response I saw on Thursday, I felt even more confident it'll hit the billion dollar mark. I know the sentimentality Gunn injected in all his prior projects is perfect for Superman, and his sense of action is also pretty underrated. I'm biased of course, but the only way I see it not doing a bil is the impact from Jurassic World and F4. Superman's the template tho, so if anyone can do it, it's him 🙌

If it doesn't hit a billion, it'll still come close like Oppenheimer because Superman may have it's own Barbie with Jurrasic World

@ComicConcept Totally agree, though I'm very biased as well. The way I see it, Jurassic World has dinos and that's cool, but those moves haven't been especially great and the brand is stale. F4 is a coin toss at best because the Marvel/Disney brand is very damaged and has a lot of baggage. I don't think Captain Falcon America will do it any favors either. The F4 are popular, sure, but nowhere near Superman levels. And we DC fans are a whole different breed as well lol. Superman is the embodiment of the best of humanity, given form. That's a powerful draw, and DC's marketing team clearly knows how to cook with it. Gunn truly wants to bring the fans home, and I am so here for it 🙌🦸

I could see Superman hitting 1.5billion.

I would say that after the Silver Age came the dark age because the 70s was when the Batman comics became more serious and dark and then it went to another level in the 80s with Watchmen and the Dark Knight Returns revolutionizing comics but then the 90s took it way too far.
The "Modern Age" is a bad term because every current age is the modern age and it says nothing about the content.
This next age is really the "Cinematic Age" and it started with Marvel's Civil War. That book was widely referred to as the "cinemazation" of comicbooks at the time. The Ultimates and Ultimate Marvel was also hitting big at the time ans those books became the template for Phase 1 of the MCU. The animated Ultimates adaptation, Ultimate Avengers was even called the "The greatest movie never made" by Variety and then it became the blueprint for the biggest movie of the time, the Avengers in 2012.
