MSI Z490 MPG Per Core Overclock is Broken? Here's an Easy Quick 10700K 5.2Ghz Overclock - 360mm AIO
I'm back in the BIOS attempting a per core overclock, but MSI Z490 Per Core is "broken". Who's to blame, MSI, Intel, Microsoft? I dunno. Anyways, here's a quick easy 5.2Ghz Overclock for the 10700k. This is a continuation of the 5.1Ghz OC video. So watch that one first for other settings I didn't cover here. Not confirmed stable, but an easy starting point for you. I crash at low voltage, raise it .01V and it runs Cinebench R20. That's always the 1st test I run on an OC. I'm just messing around with my toy, so I recorded it. More videos coming. We're going to revisit the Lenovo IdeaPad 3, and I'll show before and after benchmark results since the upgrade. Please leave feedback if you'd li...

      I wouldn't think so. As long as your temps are OK. I wouldn't go over 1.4v. However, I run my 11700K at 1.417v 😆. It's fine though. My 11700K just isn't as good of a sample of silicon as my 10700K is. I'd rate my 11700K as a "bronze" sample and my 10700K as a strong "gold plated silver" sample. The 10700K isn't quite a "golden" sample, but it's pretty close.

    why are the aio fans behind the radiator? i dont understand this faan config assuming top and back fans are exhaust fans

    • @TheSmileyTek
      @TheSmileyTek Год назад

      Sure. The aio fans pull air in through the radiator. Pull configuration. The thought is that it's easier to clean dust off the radiator fins (with a quick rinse) than it is the fan blades. It sort of acts kind of like a dust filter. Top and back fans are exhaust. I set the top exhaust fans to a lower speed so the air coming in can make it to the rear of the case without being drawn directly out of the top. I have upgraded to 11700K and a 3080 since those days. Still having a blast with my toy though, that's for sure.

      Unfortunately there is no option to upgrade the graphical performance. The model I have has integrated graphics (iGPU), so it is what it is. Most laptops don't really have many upgrade paths, other than drive capacity, and memory. When buying a laptop they are sort of frozen in time in terms of capability. Most that is. There are some that have options to upgrade a discreet gpu. But, the model in the video isn't one. They are usually more pricey. The only real option is to use Steam Link if you have a PC that can run games well, it let's you use that PC remotely. I've tested it out on this laptop. Works pretty well for single player campaign type games.

      That’s plenty of cooling. 98 gaming is high. Is it just a quick spike here and there? Check the Load Line settings. I set my Load Line Calibration (LLC) to Mode 3. Confirm your thermal paste application, and that your cooler is mounted with even pressure. Tighten in a cross pattern.

    • @Andyz1605
      @Andyz1605 2 года назад

      @@TheSmileyTek btw what is LLC ? can you give me simple explain ? if i use higher than mode 3 what happen ?

    • @TheSmileyTek
      @TheSmileyTek 2 года назад

      Sure, LLC tells the motherboard to provide a little more voltage to the CPU when it goes from Idle to Load. Setting LLC to a higher mode could allow the voltage to stay higher under load rather than dropping off, or "drooping". I was thinking a lower setting may keep your temps down, if it doesn't cause stability issues (aka a crash). In other words, maybe allowing the voltage to taper off under load could keep your temps lower. Higher voltage = higher temps. Although, it may just be the "silicon lottery". Not all CPUs can reach higher frequencies at lower voltages. So mileage may vary.

I followed your settings, but I run with hyperthreading off (for now) and I`m getting pretty good results. I have testet with Prime95, AIDA 64, Cinebench R20 and CPU stress test on 3D mark. Currently overclocked to 5Ghz and 1.280 Volts. Highest temp (as expected) I got was with with Prime 95/small FFT`s: 90 Degrees. On AIDA 64 (full stress withouth GPU and disks) I get 78 degrees after 10 mins. Cinebench R20: 77 degrees. CPU test in 3D Mark: 60 degrees. So to my "issue"; I`ve testet from 1.33 volts and run several test, and then stepped down to my current 1.280 volts. More ore less the same temps I got at 1.290 volts. So should I keep going to crash/blue screen and hope for even better temps, or should I just be happy with these results? I will do aa several hrs AIDA-stress test in the end though :) Also mention that I use this PC for VR simulators mainly, so maybe Prime95 isn`t relevant to stresstest with :/ -Again, thanks for amazing tutorials! @@uniseslayer4758 Nice! You'll love it. If you are going to install an aio and fan "hubs", you may need extra usb. Here's the one I grabbed from Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B08N4QVMJ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GTW9819VDXZ9KA1WK3P3

    Small tip, the ring eats voltage, if you need to bump up the voltage to insanity try dropping the ring speed. So the pro is you can clock higher maybe, cons you increase latency whats bad for memory oc

    Im new to this, and im stumped on voltage. My 10700kf is at 5.08mhz but the core is .80v ! Do i need to raise it? Temp avg 30-50c, up to 77c, 100c cpu-z stress temp. 3 chassis fans, 1 cpu fan. Asus h570 plus prime, iolo 16gbx2 (32ghz), Nvidia p400x2, team 1tb ssd m.2

      🤔. You're running 5.08Ghz @ 0.80V? That's pretty dang impressive to be honest. That's a pretty low voltage. The higher you raise the voltage, the temps will potentially be higher as well. When you say 1 CPU fan I assume you're air cooling, which is fine, but you wouldn't want to skimp on a quality air cooler if you're overclocking. What CPU cooler are you using?

    Hi Smily, I would grateful for your advice. I have just bought a Lenovo Ideapad 3 17.3 inch intel pentium gold, 4 gb ram, and 1 tb HDD - window 10S. I want to upgrade with 256 GS SSD from my existing Lenovo laptop and increase the RAM. Should I do the upgrade before I setp the new laptop or after the upgrade. Please help

      Either way should be fine. You'll just need to clone the old drive to the new one if it is going to be your new "boot" drive.

    Thanks for this. This was the first OC guide I saw and used as soon as I got my 10700K around a month ago. Everything seems great so far. My R15 score is around the same as yours but my max temps went up to 84C on a couple of the cores, which is not a big deal because it's being cooled by a 280mm AIO liquid cooler so 84C being the max under stress test is fine by me. I did however choose "fixed mode" over "Dynamic" just to have all cores on 5.1Ghz. Maybe that's why my temps were a bit higher
