Very nice and drinkable scots. I prefer this to Johnny Walker, Ballantines and other better known (advertiesed)bulk whiskies.

I had the same reaction as you when I first tasted this one : just wonderful ! I also tasted the Lagavulin 8 year old (48%), very good! You should give it a try sometime.

i tried many whiskies for price from $22 to $50 and i was always wondering what this cheap one taste like. my god. absolute disaster. it tastes like melted plastic or rubber. undrinkable.

I think this is a beautiful whisky - outstanding for the price, and yes - very unique. I get this really nice toasted cedar note. At my archery club, we used to re-use the arrowheads from broken wooden arrows. You'd hold the arrowhead in the fire of a little gas burner, and the glue would heat up to a critical point - which made the arrowhead fly off in whatever direction. Underneath, the cedar arrow shaft would be browned by the heat - and the aroma of toasted cedar would fill the air. Such a specific note, i know hahahaha But every time i drink a glass of this it brings me back to those good times.

I've had ballantines once, at a family party: they had very little else. I thought it was quite nice with the meal!

I have a Laphroiag 10 sitting unboxed, about 80% full, for about 7-8 years... and the whiskey definitely tastes much better to me now than the recently opened bottle I tried. The top sharp notes have died down some, opening up the base notes and the smokey/medicinal notes are much smoother, and with a much better texture on the mouth.

Laphroaig is my favorite too.

I have a video idea: let one or more of your friends do a blind test on this one. No one have done this yet what i can see on youtube, it may be interesting to have them guess the price and more.

I really like this Scotch very much. It is heavy on the phenol so be prepared. The first time I tried it a year ago, the first few sips of it went down very smoothly. Then I tried another sip and it hit the very back of my tongue wrong. I immediately felt a heavy burning and rawness with heavy coughing. LOL. Point being, pay attention and don't disrespect Laphroaig by thinking it is some girly drink or it will let you know it!

I just came across this whisky tonight while browsing my local liquor store's website. First time hearing of this so intrigued I came looking for reviews. Based on this review seems like it's definitely worth a try. Can't really go wrong for 14 bucks.

I bought the Highland Queen 16 single malt. The cheapest 16 yo single malt I've ever seen. As a price of a 12 yo I believe is fantastic. If they could bottle it at 46 they could really get it better positioned. I guess is aiming a budget market. My advice, put a couple of drops of water. Makes a big difference.

It's not bad for the price...

It is definately not the worst (Cheap being the key word here) blrended scotch out there. If you get it on a good price. I'd say 10 € is a good price for it. If it's double that you can probably get something better. Still it's pratty tasty. In my honest opinion.

its not terrible, definitely doesnt have the nail polish notes of walker red, but it is kinda weak tasting - initially very fruity and floral and toffee-like and pleasant, but unfortunately dissipates quite quickly. good for the price, but i would still go for a bottle of jameson instead, packs a better punch for the buck
