Hi there, I'm Jenn!
I came back from Central America feeling refreshed, then unexpectedly thrown into another busy interview cycle. But this time, my approach is different. I'm not operating from a place of scarcity, and I'm fine with any outcome. I'm open to taking another Product job if it's the right fit, or I'm open to doing something completely new like moving to a different country for the summer to facilitate new ways of...

Hi there, I'm Jenn! Introducing myself and sharing a bit more about the purpose of this channel. As a first-generation Filipino American, I was raised with the belief that stability, wealth, and security should always come first. However, as I've evolved and grown, I've come to realize that there's more to life than these traditional markers of success. In this video, I open up about a pivotal ...

I just watched all your videos from the beginning. We have a lot of similarities! I’m Filipina- American, early-30s, born & raised in the Bay Area, currently living in SF and currently working in tech. I always considered myself a creative, but got pressured into studying dental assisting at first. I ended up graduating from UCLA in my late-20s, and after ending a 6yr relationship, I feel like I’m stuck in life. I feel like I’m having the quarter-life crisis that most of my friends had in their mid-20s while I’m in my 30s, and I feel like I’m too old to be feeling this way. I recently started an instagram to express myself and connect with people in the travel/ geography space, but I’m struggling with putting myself out on social media and being seen. Anyways, I’ve subscribed to follow you on your self-discovery journey!😊

Thanks so much for sharing your story! I’m sorry to hear about your recent relationship. If there’s anything I’ve learned through this process so far (and after talking with many different people), it’s that “feeling stuck” or starting over” happens any age (mostly at times we don’t expect) and no one really “has it all together.” Great job on starting an IG and exploring your creativity! I think we all have a unique view of the world that’s worth sharing. I can relate as it’s definitely been a struggle for me to put myself on YT, but so far the pros have far outweighed the cons. Keep going 💖 I hope you are being kind to yourself in this season of transition. We are all doing the best we can and deserve compassion. Would love to connect with you someday since you’re SF based, perhaps we can coordinate on Discord!

Thanks for sharing your life so openly. I can relate to so much of "the work" you are doing. I took up journaling a few years ago and it has been a tremendous help. I now have 4 different daily journals (gratitude, 3 questions journal, health and wellness, and general) which I complete probably 4 out of 5 days. The rule I made for myself was just write something down. If I'm too exhausted to ride a journal entry a lot of the times, I'll just say I'm exhausted. Sometimes that will be it and other times I'll end up writing two pages. Anyway you are talented and you are gonna find a happy balance. Keep the faith in yourself and your journey!

The journey is a mysterious one. If i may share, i was in my early 30s in consultancy for 5 years i left because i was looking for new ground. I got in contractor works and had a decent stretch of 5 years now mid 30s, things just gets hard and its begging on a new path. I wholy relate and if we may be get that sabbatical and explore our objectives. It would lead us somewhere. Most importsnt is to be in an environement that welcomes it

Hi Jenn I can’t imagine how it must feel to be this vulnerable but i am SO HAPPY that you are!! I think you’re really helping a lot of people who silently feel the same way, myself included! Have you thought about maybe taking something on part time? That could help you have the stability you crave but also give room for growth. The interior design job and animal shelter opportunities sound nice, maybe something like that can help you progress towards what you are looking for. I wish you all the best! 💗

Hi Christina! I’m so glad to hear it’s helpful 🥰 It makes being vulnerable worth it for me. I have thought about taking part time roles and have definitely applied to jobs that align more with my interests (interior design, dogs) but sadly I’m only getting interviews for Product roles. It’s a tough market right now! Thanks for your advice, I’ll definitely keep shooting my resume out!

I’m the first U.S. born child of immigrants. As a result, risk taking is so incredibly difficult (near impossible) for me but I took the plunge and quit my job over a year ago to focus on my healing. I had been working since I was a teenager and I was so burned out at 31. Initially the waves of regret and wanting to run back to security were so strong. In retrospect, I cannot believe I had the courage to even do it! Now, my life feels intentional and I’m taking steps in the direction that I WANT to go in. Ironically the loss of control has given me more control. It will all work out for you ❤️

Hi Alex! Thanks for sharing your story. It’s great that you’re self aware and able to be honest with yourself about your situation. That’s the first step to change! To be honest, I think I lied to myself for a long time and convinced myself I was happy because my previous roles afforded me the lifestyle I wanted. But looking back, I was apathetic, and that’s no way to live either. I still don’t know what I want to do, but I hope the reflections and exercises I share down the line will be helpful. Maybe sometimes we just need space to think. Wishing you all the best! 🤍

your situation with school is very relatable. I worked hard in community college to hopefully transfer to a good college to major in accounting. I was able to get into the accounting program but the classes were just way over my limit which led me to drop out and move back home with my parents and find a job around my area. Now, I am stuck in an administrative job that is constantly draining me…sometimes I wish college would work out for me 😔

It takes time for our bodies to get used to a new reality. Even if it's embracing a resting season, it doesn't happen overnight. Our old selves still come knocking back. I deeply resonated when you said "I can't stand it. I can't stand sitting in the discomfort" I went back to my same 9-5 four months after quitting. After the first few months of feeling embarrassed and like I failed at pursuing my own goals, I'm embracing trying new things outside of work and truly enjoy it knowing I have a paycheck coming my way that week wether I decide to pursue something creative or not! The whole experience taught me I had to ease my way into an entrepreneurship mindset instead of cold plunge my way into it, and that there is nothing wrong with 9-5 work... rooting for you and I hope you forge your path <3

Hi, it's completely random that I comment here, but maybe you actually read it. if you have time off and feel that life is perhaps more then figuring out ways to save on your taxes then I'd recommend in no particular order: therapy (ego state, inner parts integration, somatic experiencing (find a very good therapist)), the gateway experience & core shamanism. I could also well imagine that if you follow this path then you will not necessarily want to publicly document that, whichi think would be just fine. All the best!

Hi there! Thanks for your comment! I am very risk averse and security is important to me, so I can definitely relate. On the bright side, at least you recognize there is an urge to find something new - that in itself is a great starting point ☺️ Whether or not it’s a new job, I hope you find something you enjoy (like a hobby or new interest) that points you in the right direction!

I just got laid off at almost 28 right before the holidays after working in my industry for about 8-9 years.. I have no idea what to do. I never had any idea what I wanted to do. I have no idea how I would take that much time with bills/family but I do want to take some time. Subscribed. I am with you

Hi Taylor, I’m so sorry to hear that. Job loss is so difficult emotionally, especially after 9 years of dedicated service and bills/family to look after. I don’t know where to start either, but I hope we both figure it out eventually ♥️

Hey Jen 👋 it’s so nice knowing you 😊 I understand how scary it can get while starting a little later than others. I can completely relate. as someone who is trying to figure out things on her own with the continuous fear of failure, i can tell you are very brave and courageous to do this. Finding something you would love ❤ And thanks for making us a part of it 😊

Hi Ranjana! Thanks for your kind words and sharing your experience. I too am afraid of failing which is why I’ve played it safe my whole life and took the traditional path. I’m proud of both of us for putting ourselves out there! I read this quote today and it resonated with me - I hope you get something from it too! “Failure is not the enemy of success, inertia, fear and apathy are. If you failed, it means you believed in yourself enough to try.” ♥️
