I bought mechanical license for both streaming and digital download for a holiday Xmas Cover song. I’m getting a lot of mixed info about the distribution from distrokid that it will block the remake for being available to be added to the instagram, TikTok and facebooks library. Even if I pay again for another mechanical license through distroKid, how do I get the song available on social media platform libraries to it can be added to reels and stories?

i dealwith distrokid. but I recently re-recorded a well known song BUT I used their instrument track and my song keeps getting flagged.. any way to get around this? you can call it a cover song, but the instruments are from the actual song because I'm a just vocalist/mixing engineer. (not an instrument player).. HELPPP!!!!!!

Emily, i purchased the Protools template sometime ago and i noticed it was set to 96 KHz. Do you use to mix in 96khz? Is it worth to work at a higher sample rate?

He finishes with a NTI Eq after that. For the most part just the Air 20k band. They still want 7k for a used one. I think the Maag plugin prob does the same thing

Also i tried mixing a song in LUNA with about 70 audio tracks, as i started mixing to an extent, my audio started glitching, i checked my buffer size and have 16gb ram with an HDD 750gb, how can i fix that?

Do you think Luna is underrated? I find it amazing considering it is free and feels optimized for Apple Silicone, and monthly updates is incredible. I feel like I would buy the Pro version to support them. 4 updates from Avid this year so far, one being a x.x.1 update....

on pro Q3 a practical tip: Instead of leaving your mouse on the spectrum which then turns purple, left click and hold, the spectrum turns green/blue and you keep all your peaks points and you can therefore modify them all without having to redo everything each time. You can also let it click when the spectrum is already purple

Super helpful video! I sound design in ProTools (which doesn't usually require much playlist interaction) and do music production in Cubase, but recently switched totally over to PT and then realized I basically don't know anything about comping in PT. lol. So this was just what I needed as I stare down a million playlists. Thank you!

my ears went automatically to the middle clips, I work with eq > compression on a daily basis. I thought that the second snare was tight in a way that i prefer, and the second kick was too boomy to my taste. I work with post sound, dialogue, effects, and have to deal with a LOT of noise, wind, unwanted low freqs, so I first eq to clean-up, then compress, then I use a second eq (with more texture an color) to achieve tonal balance! Great content!!

Your first tip. “Go to the UA Audio support and there it is how to set it up, and bam! was up and running …. I am getting better at asking for directions 😅. Hi I have an issue with audio suite in the latest version of pro tools on the latest sequona Mac. The plug ins works but the render is not working on any plugin . If I put it on a track it works . I think it’s a bug cause it’s not supported on the latest Mac. Any thought ?

Hi Emily - discovered your channel today and working my way thru your videos. In this video at 5:20 you explain that the Drum Room track was routed 'automatically' to your Rooms bus. How can you set up a template so that imported tracks get automatic routing to the correct busses / aux channels?

I have ignored WAVES for awhile now - their marketing practices drove me NUTS (UA... I'm looking at you...), and I felt like they were resorting to gimmik-y plug-ins, rather than professional tools for awhile. This is the first thing they've put out in a long time that has gotten my attention. I really like the visual feedback of this as opposed to the Soothe plug in (which I use a lot).

i never got this issue until i updated to Sonoma.. i can have a session with only 4 audio tracks, and 2 aux’s. ℹ constantly get the error in every session now, and I’m working off a 2 year old Macbook Pro, An External SSD, & Pro Tools Ultimate, It Makes Me Angry, Because I Spent A lot Of Money On Good Hardware To Avoid Issues Like This. Before One Of You Smart Asses Try To Be Condescending About My Chosen Hardware, This Just Recently Started Happening To Me, I’ve Thrown Heavy Workloads At My Computer With A Regular Hard Drive, And Didn’t Get Errors. I Think Updating The Plugins Could Be Effecting It Also. I Run Into The Same Issues On FL Studio Too, And I Have All My Sound Bank’s And Virtual Instruments On My SSD. It Sucks Because When I Pirated/Stole Software And Plugins, I Had No Crashes. Now I’m Thousands Of Dollars Invested, And Can Barely Mix A Session Because Of The Constant Crashes. I’m Building My Next Computer

They did, but I still do not understand the obsession with resonance suppression. Music is a collection of resonances after all. I get it, there are some really nasty ones but the can always be eliminated with a FF Pro Q3.

Hey Emily, this is a great video. Just wondering if you have any on panning in a three piece band? I know some people hard pan doubled guitar takes, but sometimes that seems too 'big' when you'd rather just have a raw three-piece sound. But it's also sort of hard to balance symmetrically with one guitar track only. Not sure what you balance opposite it. On stage, it would be bass left, guitar right, but I'm not sure if that would be lop-sided in headphones.
