Sue and Chris travel the country looking for adventures. Serendipity is our 14' 2015 Jayco 145RB Trailer. It's a great size for us to find unexpected things of awe and beauty. We just purchased a 2023 RAM Promaster which we are going to convert. We named it Synchronicity.
We also have an 1833 Greek Revival Farm House that we restored. It keeps us busy when we are not traveling. We love learning new things!

3D Printed RYOBI 18V 150Db Air Horn
With Football and New Years coming up, I thought I would make a portable air horn. I've seen several people scavenge old RYOBI impact drivers to make one. I didn't have one that I wanted to sacrifice and I didn't want to purchase a new one. So I designed and 3D printed one that uses an inexpensive horn compressor kit and a RYOBI replacement trigger

DIY Adirondack Chair made from Old Skiis
Просмотров 33221 день назад
I’ve been trying to clean out the basement. We had a lot of skiis from the kids growing up. I tried to donate them, but nobody wants skiis/ bindings that are over 10 years old. Sue got me some Adirondack chairs a couple of years ago. I love them. They are very comfortable. I decided to repurpose the skiis and a snow board into a chair. I used trex like boards from Home Depot. It came out neat ⛷...
Making Halloween Pumpkins from old Propane Tanks using Plasma Cutter

Sue and I purchased a 2023 Promaster 159WB High Top van. With the COVID back up, it took six months to arrive. It took us about 2 months to have it 90% done and we started using it. We now have had it for a year and have put around 10K miles on it. We are very happy with how it turned out and thought we would share a walk thru. #vanlife #vantour #promaster Here is some of the equipment we insta...
Installing a Sliding Door Hidden Step in Promaster Van
Просмотров 6756 месяцев назад
We love our Promaster Van Build. We were using a Harbor Freight step stool to get in/out of the sliding door. The problem was that it wasn't always steady and we had to store it some where. I found a low-profile Stromberg Carlson Manual RV Step that installs nicely. It only took me about an hour to install. I had to drill out three 5/16" holes in the van frame (I used one existing hole). I used...
Blue Heron Bobbing Wind Toy
Просмотров 3787 месяцев назад
I love wind toys. I've designed quite a few wind spinners. I live near a nature preserve that hosts many different birds. We often see big Blue Herons silently standing in the marsh. They suddenly bob their head down and grab a fish. I thought I'd try to make a wind toy that bobs up and down. The Prusa XL with 5 heads is great for easily printing these multi-color projects. Less issues / filame...
RYOBI Carving, Filleting, Foam Cutting Electric Knife
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.8 месяцев назад
When I see a useful idea for a RYOBI tool, I prototype it and hope the user community can convince RYOBI to make one. While working on my Promaster Van Conversion, I found a need for a carving knife to cut the bed/seat cushion foam. I decided to prototype an 18V and a 4V USB version. I think it would be a great product for carving meat, filleting fish, and cutting foam. Here are my results. I p...
Making Clear Replacement Parts: Pros & Cons of of 3D Printing, Silicone Molds, and Heat Forming
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.8 месяцев назад
I was trying to help a friend make some replacement parts for his Tonka Toy Collection. He needed a clear windshield for his Clipper Boat. I've never really 3D printed clear parts before, so I thought I'd give it a try. As I suspected, 3D printed parts aren't really clear because of all the layer lines. So I tried making a Silicone Rubber mold to pour an Epoxy part. I also tried laser cutting C...
Making Replacement Parts for a Tonka 1963 Jeep
Просмотров 80210 месяцев назад
A friend's friend collects old Tonka toys. He finds them on Ebay and tries to fix them up. He mentioned that several replacement parts are not available. My friend told him that I could probably make him the parts by 3D scanning and printing them. Here's how I made one. I used a Revopoint POP2 3D scanner to scan the back bench seat from a 1963 Tonka Jeep Runabout. The Revo Scan5 software allowe...

New RYOBI USB 2A/3A Lithium Battery Tests and Charger Hack
Просмотров 13 тыс.11 месяцев назад
RYOBI has come out with new 2A & 3A USB Lithium batteries (FVB02 & FVB03). They now have a charge status button and you can now use the USB-C port to both charge and to power other devices! Ryobi says that their FVCH01 3 Battery Charger is 80% faster than charging with the USB-C cable (It's not!). It is faster though. Unfortunately you need AC to use it. It turns out that it is pretty easy to h...

It's that time of year to make Ornaments. My friend Jim mentioned using small round mirrors for projects. Making Simple DIY VAN / RV Cushions
Просмотров 285Год назад
We're just finishing up our Van build. I just needed to make the mattress and seat cushion backs. I have a cheap sewing machine and elementary sewing skills. I decided to give it a try. Once I figured out the formula to size the fabric, it was pretty easy to make memory foam, boxed cornered, envelope back cushions. I did the seat bottoms in vinyl and the seat backs in a nice fabric my daughter ...

Oil level check is different on these. DON'T screw the plug in to check level, just insert until it seats and remove.
Unfortunately I have OLD 4v tools, and the new batteries don't fit into them....
1:15 - “… just a regular 18V Ryobi battery …” Then shows a 9AHr Ryobi battery. That’s a lot of AHr in my book for “regular” ;)
😂 it also works fine on 1.5Ah
@ - I figured that - and those 1.5 and 2 AHr batteries are the ones that regularly come with certain light duty Ryobi tools.
Very nice, any reason why a 5” hole saw blade not work?
Great project. Not everybody needs a Ryobi airhorn but lots of folks would like to build some kinda tool for their battery system and you've done a nice job of showing how that might be done!
@@MFunkibut check out my other ryobi projects on printables… I’m always trying to convince Ryobi to make them… some they have (magnifier, powerstation, bug zapper, heated scarf) others they haven’t yet (sewing machine, coffee maker, carving knife). It’s fun making them!
Excellent work! Thanks for creating stuff like this for Fanatics like us 👍
Some of the links are not correct items here and on printables.
Opps, Thanks I updated it
They all seem good now 👍

Love it i cant afford a charger i got my bike back after it was stole no battery display and wires but atleast i got it back managed to save for a battery and a cable since that was ripped out and after xmas ill be ordering a display i see lots on secondhand sites so its just a charger then and this is how i am going to go about it i seen a german utuber do it and the part needed to get the 5volts i have it in my baskit so as soon as ive got them im gona come back here as u speak english and may be able to help were i might need it ,,thats one impressive controller u have to be able to do so many batteries and then u been able to make your own adoptors etc ,respect man honestly we need more of your kind instead of oh its broke we gotta buy a new one ! Naa i wasnt raised that way
Another fellow laser owner who seals his exhaust vent with painters tape! Me too. Love it.
So could i make a charger from another controller wit say the bosch cable and connection from a bosch controller, I understand id have to suss that third cable out but just knowing another charger will charge it gives me ideas, thats some cool stuff youve done 😎
VERY slick
Nice Saw! :)
For lawn mower use only is what the warning clearly states on the HF website.
That is because it is a vertical shaft engine. If they don't say that in the posting, someone will try to mount it in the wrong orientation. This would destroy the engine due to oil starvation. An engine is an engine, it doesn't matter. You will need to make modifications on almost ANY engine replacement that isn't original. 😊
Well atleast the Ryobi Marketing Dept showed some restraint and didn’t claim “UP TO” 1000% faster charging… BTW awesome hack.
what if I wanted to make one and connect 2 or more batteries?
Excellent modding. this is my first of your uploads, definately won't be the last. You have some great idea's and projects. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful video. I will use it for my install. How is the long term use of the heater working out?
No music please.
Hi if you're active please respond. I have some questions. Thank you
i'm not dead and buried yet :-)
Please reduce the volume on (or really, eliminate) the background audio.
Whats the fuel consumption when you are running it? Im thinking of using one in some well drilling equipment
maybe your buck converter cant hold the current i guess
I get the same issues and am looking into heat management
Can this system be run with a higher watt inverter? Like he uses a 300w but could you technically run a 1000w or 1500w inverter on this? I know the power would drain faster. But these are power tool batteries designed to run fairly high demand appliances, I would hope you could at least power a griddle for a few hours or so
I built this one that uses the 18V batteries and can run 2600W inverter ruclips.net/video/lAAWFCU4iEM/видео.html
Why buy this when you could just get the inverter that also has USB charging?
@@laynelg8762 if you are running 12v appliances it’s much more efficient than converting to AC and then back to DC. The cigarette plug usually handles much higher amps at 12v than usb-c
Did it hold up while spinning at 1800rpm?
@@almarnordby2034 yup, still running fine
Which software you use to find the difference in the model and scan
@@akashsunny5134 I like PolyWorks and geomagic designx to do that
Why is it important to use the same batteries? Ryobi batteries have internal battery protection circuits, so they should just drop off the array as they get low.
@@GraflexGuy just being safe that all batteries are equally sharing the load
Same issue I’m having with the same model I bought from OfferUp. Not a big deal, the companies gone but I know how to build an ebike. The frame is the important part. Thanks for the info about plugging it in and just showing green
Good
Looks like a ~20% loss across the convertor. The (honestly too many)USB sockets etc would likely use a small amount of current when energized too. For a cheap convertor this isn't surprising.
The words UP TO mean a lot here. UP TO 80% faster than other charging methods. Now if you think harder, what's the WORST way to charge these? Oh yeah, 500ma USB ports exist. Reading and thinking are awesome tools.
Youre inlet needs to be LARGER than your outlet. PLUS, the inlet needs to be mounted low to draw in cool air while the outlet is mounted high to collect & discharge hot air. REMEMBER Hot air rises & cool air sinks. !
I can’t believe it doesn’t have pass through charging. Why does ryobi keep doing this
Thanks for this. I had this in my hand yesterday. 2 pack of 3 amp batteries. Put them back. But now i want the batteries but not the charger.
How did you assure that there would be adequate air flow for intake at the unit? attach a tube that accessed the open air of the isle? frame in the area with a screen in the isle? If a tube was used, what diameter? thank you very much!!
Question may you please list some cheaper solar charger controller under $50
When coming out your side slider, do you come out backwards or does the step pull out far enough that you are able to safely come out facing forward? thank you
Can it detect foundation dimensions?
I'm guessing it could see old foundation walls buried under the top soil. The beam shape spreads out as it goes deeper. I would work around the foundation and mark it with flags. Not how accurate it will be.
We will be putting the same heater on a 2023 promaster. Can the heater drain the gas tank or is it set to turn off with 1/4 tank left? thank you
I hooked up the webasto to the built-in fuel port. I assume it can drain the tank, but I haven't tried. The Webasto is *very* frugal with gas
@@SerendipitySue Thank you..your video was really helpful!!!
Very helpful!! Hopefully, we will be doing the same thing soon. I heard you have to be very careful of the slope of the fuel line. Did you have problems with this? thank you
I haven't had any issues with mine. I was more worried about the slope of the exhaust line so it would not keep moisture/water in it and rust
@@SerendipitySue Nice to hear this! I am very excited about getting a heater in. take care
Omg Arlo, Archie, and scout are the cuteeeesssttttt! Like like like 👍🏽
yes they are !
Where I live recerticication is less than $10 on those small tanks. Cenex recertified my 100 pounder for free when I filled up. This made me wince a little bit.😢
I checked and no one local does the inspections. Apparently visual inspections get you 2 more years
Great Video! thank you for the info.
Use compressor to flush out propane from tanks. Better to be on safe side
Any idea on charging this workx 24v directly
What a waste of propane tanks ! Could have returned them for full tanks at kiosks for propane tanks at Home Depot and other stores
Free old tanks are easy to get around our town if you needed one to trade in. Buying propane at exchange places is an expensive way to go
@@SerendipitySue we're not buying propane at the exchange we're buying a new tank - new tanks are expensive
Thank you
Could you make this solar charging capability?👀
