Take a look at the fact that the legislators have "not "protected the environment from over development and real estate interests. If you look at Google Earth you can see the real Florida is over populated, and overdeveloped! The politicians are owned by the developers and big real estate! The politicians too are guilty. Somebody has financial interest in improving the "waterway"to be reclassified as navigable and the land will have been sold to them before the reclassification. They were going to try to buy the guys land but improve it without common knowledge in the public. Using state funds. Then turn around and buy it reclassify it and sell it for 2 times the value. Pfft I had my local town come to my property while they were running reclaimed water lines in the neighborhood. They broke all my sprinklers they broke a water pipe and caused two sections of my lawn to collapse and create big 8 to 10" dips. They removed a bunch of soil and grass and replaced the grass without the dirt leaving and un even area. They flooded a beautiful stone path with mud from the pipe break and more. I called the town manager twice trying to get him to come out and see the damage. He never showed up. Some Florida towns have terrible management.

Sorry but poor people have no rights ..You must be able to afford a good lawyer and sue them for property damages and anything else your lawyer can come up with ..Any kids or grandkids playing in the area ... I would definitely sue them for all future medical needs due for the trespassing and using chemicals ..And don't think it will be settled in county or State court ...This needs to be settled in federal District Court !!!

The weeds on that pond apear to be water lettuce not duckweed which can have severe detrimental effects to life in the pond. It can completely block off all light to the desirable native species which stops all oxygen production in the pond and in turn kills the fish. Also that berm looked way too small to hold water in during the wet season. So essentially it's a seasonal thing making that pond "navigable" even if it's only seasonal. Also there's easements for any body of water.

I would like to know what has been done since this story went online to prevent this from happening again? I have seen no further response or updates and I think a lot of people that have been pissed off seeing this would like to know this did not just get swept under the rug or the land owner was not threatened in any way if he pursued this case with FWC, State Attorneys office and letter to Ron DeSantis.
