Plants that did great over the summer
Where did you get the clemensiorum? I've been trying to find one.
Your plants always look so healthy, I’m a little jealous.. Except with the silver Krohniana because mine is a lot like yours.. Taking her time growing..❤😊
Gosh I got mine for $5
Which one was my favorite? All of them! I have all except one that I haven’t heard of. Another tidbit of info is when you trellis a Hoya, don’t clip a vine pointing down otherwise the tendril will die back. I let mine grow insanely long so I can loop and clip to allow the tendril to grow more so I can clip it on the hoop trellis and not point it downward. Some Hoyas are ok trailing, others prefer to climb. When I got this tidbit of info I went around and checked my own Hoyas and yep, the new tendril died back and was starting a new growth point on that same vine but at a higher point. I have the same wrinkly problem on my sp. Burtonae aff. and I can’t get the wrinkles to go away. I propagated it because I thought it was dying, but it just stayed wrinkled. Come to think of it, my curtisii also wrinkles slightly. I use orchid fertilizer as a foliar spray on my Hoyas but I make sure there’s good air circulation to avoid any type of fungus on the leaves. You are going to have to give us a plant tour in 2025! Merry Christmas!
I saw a Hoya Sulawesi GPS 8867 in a video that looked like what you have as a Sarawak. Might be that, but won’t know for sure until she blooms. 😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴
Where do you get your white pots from?
💚💚💚
The hoya that you mentioned was Sarawak, the bottom leaves almost remind of my hoya elephant but without the beautiful splash. Could it be a hybrid ??
Okay so I could definitely see elephant ear. I feel like the blooms would solve this lol
That latifolia looks like a snow queen to me. I have one and that is what is was sold to me as. Gorgeous hoyas!!
Same opinion !
I’m so glad yours was labeled correctly! lol
Is is Stratum Or Leca you keep alot of your hoyas in that produce really good growth? You have mentioned it in previous videos I just cant remeber
Stratum! They do so well in it!
My kroniana silver was doing the same and the problem for mine was that that particular strand wasn’t planted deep enough. Some of its roots were exposed
Guess what! After reading this, I checked and that was the problem. I guess when I repotted It, I left that one up too high. I love comments like this! Thank you
Mathilde is just literally the best 🤗
The best!
Definitely a fitchii! lol them bic box store names🙄 😂
They gon do it every time too 😂😂😂
Question. Do you find the clemensiorum easy care? is it ok in ambient humidity? I've been considering purchasing one after seeing it in person recently 🤔
I do. I really do. I don’t do too much extra humidity. I have one In the room but this is pretty far from it. I highly recommend it. I do give it a good amount of light though
Is the sarawak an obovata?
Hey! I wish it was lol so then I could stop pulling my hair out over it! But no side by side they look pretty different
Your Hoya are stunning 😍 Love your Wayetii especially, the leaves on it are gorgeous. I live in south Australia where it’s very hot and dry,Australis Lisa comes from the northern part of Australia, where it’s warm and humid year round. Mine is smaller than yours in normal room conditions. 💚💚🌿🪴
That’s so cool! I wish I could be there instead of this cold lol have you actually seen the Australis growing wild before? I bet is so beautiful. Thanks for watching
Ooooo.... your variegated incrassata is beautiful. Still watching and enjoying.....
I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
I am obsessed with my krohniana silver right now! Found mine at Home Depot a couple months ago when i was there with my son, and i actually squealed! I am not usually a squeal-out-loud-er 😄 Your Mathilde is so so cute - i want one!
Mathilde is such a great little hoya - I'm with you, she's a must-have!
Hoya flowering is triggered by shortened hours of daylight and cooler temperatures (much like many orchids and "christmas" cactuses). I suspect that when hoyas are kept in optimal light and heat conditions artificially year round, they would be less likely to bloom. Also, in my experience, hoyas tend to be a few years old before they bloom for the first time - typically 3 to 7 years, depending on the variety (it seems the bigger the flower clusters of a particular variety, the more years of prep time it needs!)
Wow, you’re a total Hoya expert! thanks for all that info! I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I’ll be turning the lights off early these days
Agree with you regarding the Callistophylla. Wowza, your Icensis is really flexin'! Thank you for sharing.
I know, I’m obsessed with the Icensis too! Thanks for watching
Your hoyas are very nice! Lol @ your comment on "...looking good with a tan too." Hoya Matilde Splash is super cute. Thanks for sharing.
Matilde Splash is definitely a favorite. Thanks for watching!
I think the RB Dick is or was getting too much light. Some Hoyas get ugly spots instead of the pretty sun stressing. The light green leaves point to that also.
Okay wow. Good to know. Glad I have a Hoya squad here 😅👌
Oh my goodness at least 4 more Hoya’s are going on my wish list. Yaaaaaa
Another Hoya you are making me get excited about. What a beauty. If you left her alone and she started growing. Oouuu wwweee
I have two plants, so far, that I learned about from your sharing. Thanks
I love sharing my plant love! 🌱
Hey Kayland. What ya got for us?
My condolences to you
I purchased Hoya Philippines last year and what drew me to it was the sun stressing. It’s gorgeous! I have not gotten blooms as of yet nor any peduncles. My AH-074 I purchased around the same time and she just finished blooming for me! The blooms are a floral, no particular flower, just like a bouquet of flowers and it’s not overwhelming. It was a little slow growing but now it’s growing relatively quick. I don’t know why but I struggle with my Hoya Sp. Aff. Burtoniae, the variegated one does well but the regular one, meh. 🫤 Just a side note, your Hoya will throw out a vine to find support, once it feels secure, the leaves will follow. 😊 Loved the video!
That last part about the vines-Golden! Thank you. 😊
I felt your pain so much with trying to let go of plants but you just can’t do it or pick lol. And so sorry about your grandma ❤️❤️
I'm so glad you can relate, it's like a love/hate relationship haha! ❤️
As far as the hoya thr33some, I would find a cute pot, pot the trellis into the wall-e-grow, and purge the one in the back
Best of both worlds in one planter. I like you style! Lol thanks!
So sad to hear about your grandmother
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandma!!! Grandmas leave special places in our hearts that NEVER go away!!! She gave you the gift of plants & that is her reminder to you that she’s still there with you!!! Plants are absolutely stunning!!!! That Hoya Sunrise is AMAZING!!!! 😎😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴🪴🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot!
Good morning, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear grandmother. I too learned to the art of plant keeping from my grandmother. I am happy that you were able to share your love of plants with her. Continue to make her proud!
It really was a gift to share that passion with her. 🙏
Try mixing 50/50 orchid /plant fertilizer both at half strength to your flowering plants. I get lipstick blooms about 3 times a year.
I love that, I’m going to give it a try!
The loss sucks but I'm glad you have great memories & a cactus. Mushrooms mean healthy soil full of nutrients. Prop the flame. It's easy in sphagnum moss so water should work too
Thanks! You totally get it!
❤
I tried something new with my moss poles to keep them moist. When I make them, I add a wick the length of the moss pole. (They sell it on Amazon in a roll you can cut to size) I make holes on a plastic cup for the wicks and then fit it on the top of the pole. Then fill the cup as needed
That’s a great idea! I’m always looking for new ways to keep my plants happy. Thanks a lot!
My Condolences to You and your Family 🙏🏾 🪴Happy Planting🌿
So sorry to hear about your grandma praying that your family will be okay your plants are so beautiful I have loss so many plants and this short time with this cold weather I keep my home pretty warm
Thank you so much. Wishing the best for Your plants. Spring will be back before we know it!
So so sorry about your amazing grandmother. I bought a Cryosperma johnstonii from Gabriella plants. 😢1st died shortly after arrival & they replaced. With this one, I waited a month and repoted in a slightly bigger ceramic pot and I keep it on the wetter side and help me Jesus my leaves are huge. She shoots out slipper leaves from the last stem. It's amazing to watch their progression. I wish I could add a pic. My altimeter fav for about 6 months.
Okay wow! Thank you for that because I have seriously been wondering about that one. Golden! 👌
SINCERESIST CONDOLENCES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, SHE'S INSIDE NOW
Thank you so much
My condolences about your grandmother. Nice to see you back and at it again despite what’s going on. She’ll live with you through the plants. Wishing you and your family a healing and peaceful holiday love.
Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot.
Congrats on your schooling choice!! That's so exciting! 🎉
Thanks, it's a big step for me!
I'm so sorry, sweetie. That is so hard 🫂 I'm glad you have this hobby to keep you focused and going. 🙏
It's been a lot, but plants have been a lifeline.
Oh honey, I’m so sorry for your loss. But, keep your head held high, I know your grandma is looking down on you and smiling ❤
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
You have a lot plans love it u go girl 😊
Thanks, it's my little jungle!
The Thai Pink Lipstick is one of my favorite plants! Mine tends to bloom in the cooler months. I vote for you to keep them all👍😁🩷
I love a good ol’ enabler 🤣 thanks for watching!
@GardenOfKayland that's what plant friends are for 😂!
That orchid is GORGEOUS 😍.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandma❤.
❤️💔
