Italys 3 Cheapest Regions to Buy Property
Nice video. Nice to see how people see our country. Slovenia is not just Ljubljana, yes, its capital city, but you have to explore some more. I prefer living in a smaller city, you may laugh, but Ljubljana is to big and to crowded for me. Few years ago I was thinking to move to some other country, but I changed my mind. Slovenia is realy so comfortable to live in, I did not find anything similar. If you plan to move, do explore some other cities as well. Its worth it. Where ever you live in Slovenia, there is not more than a good hour to Ljubljana by car. And you can choose climate. Coast with higher temperatures and mild winter, colder mountain area of flat Panonia area.. or somewhere in the middle. Prices for houses are lower outside Ljubljana, expences somewhat the same. In general Ljubljana is few % more expensive than other cities. Something to think about. You asked for wifi.. its 20€ + a month. Same with cell phone. And many people speak english, but you will soon learn the language, at least basics. In any case, you are welcome.
Thank you for this valuable information!!
If only she could stay on topic.
Health care is all right for small medical issues. If you have to get surgery however, you'll wish to be back in the US or any other advanced country.
I think these numbers are a little low for prices of rent and groceries. If you are living nice like this guy you will pay closer to 900 a month in rent and 500 a month on groceries for two people. I have lived in almost every city in Brazil now and only stay in the best neighborhoods and this is what you can expect. Maybe in the suburbs or outside the city center these prices are more realistic.
I love Colombia and plan to retire in Colombia in 8 years at the latest (I'm 50). But I still don't understand why many Colombians advise against moving to Colombia - even for my ex-wife, who is Colombian, it is and was unimaginable to live in Colombia again. Who is misjudging the situation? Just by the way: I pay well over 1000 EUR per month for my health insurance here. From the lower health insurance costs alone, I could lead an average good life in Colombia... apart from the fact that I love the country and its people... ♥️🇨🇴
CAN YOU SUGGEST TO ME AN ATTORNEY THAT CAN HELP ME GET A PENSION VISA!
Thanks. Very helpful for considering a move to Italy ☺️🇮🇹
MONTENEGRO--PERU---CAMBODIA=3
To understand why a foreigner who has not committed crime will not be deported from Argentina, neither heavily penalized if overdue on his/her visa, you must know the Argentinean national constitution: CONSTITUTION OF THE ARGENTINE NATION; PREAMBLE: We, the representatives of the people of the Argentine Nation, gathered in General Constituent Assembly by the will and election of the Provinces which compose it, in fulfilment of pre-existing pacts, in order to form a national union, guarantee justice, secure domestic peace, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves, to our posterity, and to all men of the world who wish to dwell on Argentine soil: invoking the protection of God, source of all reason and justice: do ordain, decree, and establish this Constitution for the Argentine Nation. The key take is: “... and to all men of the world who wish to dwell on Argentine soil…”, which means that allowance to live in Argentina comes down protected straight from national constitution.
The health services are about to change for foreigners, you will need to prove that you are a properly settle resident, this happens because so far Argentina has been too extremely a generous country, arguably the most generous country in the world; and this is not an hyperbolic and bombastic statement. What country in the world provides FREE medical services in public hospitals to 3000 per month non-resident foreigners? Well, Argentina does it in the province of Jujuy and Salta, the provinces that border Bolivia. Every month, 3000 Bolivians living in Bolivia cross to Salta and Jujuy for FREE medical treatment. That has to stop, but because the current despicable woke agendas those Bolivians could not be denied medical services. Argentinean hospitals are so far not backed by a legislation that allows them to determine who is entitled to medical services and who is not. Although not in the whooping numbers as the Bolivians in Salta and Jujuy, also Chileans cross the border in Patagonian provinces to milk the medical services of Argentinean hospitals and health centres. Furthermore, what country in the world provides FREE university education to foreigners that on completion of their studies then return to their countries? Well, Argentina does. I don’t have the figures, but they are in the many thousands of university students from the whole of Spanish speaking countries of the American* continent. If you want to study in Argentina, all what you need are certificates of previous studies and certified previously studies syllabuses and that’s it, you are in. That has to stop, Argentina is not a rich a country that can afford that. And even worse, except the Brazilians, all other neighbouring countries hate the Argentineans and call us arrogant, racists and petulant; yet the enjoy and have a great time coming to milk away Argentina. The above described situation have been going on for many decades, since century XIX I would say. However, as it happened far away in the provinces, the politicians in Buenos Aires never gave a damn about those problems. However, since the Special Military Operation in Jewkraine began, there has been a massive influx of Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians to Buenos Aires, also to milk away the Argentinean generosity and to obtain world-widely accepted Argentinean passport through giving birth in Argentina. That’s the straw that broke the camel’s back and thus is that a legislation is coming up about health and education services for foreigners.
San luis and cordoba provinces have very beautiful and safe towns, villa Carlos Paz in cordoba is one of them
Mendoza appears like a nice city for retirement in Argentina. Cost of living seems low. Spanish might be necessary for gringos to be able to negotiate rentals ? Few US expats seem like they want to live there - not sure why it isn't more popular than it is ? Perhaps not enough English speaking locals for some US expats. Rents aren't really the cheapest compared to S E Asia ?
Mendoza is a stunning and affordable option, but its lower popularity among US expats is likely due to Argentina’s volatile economy and its distance from the U.S., especially with closer Latin American options available. Spanish is essential, as rentals often require negotiation, which can be challenging without fluency. While rentals in Southeast Asia are some of the cheapest in the world, great deals can still be found in Mendoza if you’re on the ground and can negotiate in Spanish.
Sound like any foreigner has to live under the rule of bureaucrats of dubious competence and honest. That's not for me.
What country do you like? Or would consider moving to?
Your referring to retirement yet don't mention health care.?..is it safe..? do they tax on pension.?... not very informative.. also Cambodia has a high pesticide use of foods....This is very limited information
Thank you Ré and Guy, and Guy's wife. You work is superb, and much appreciated.I've always wanted to go to Argentina.
Great vid thanks
Just a small correction that everybody makes. The city of Buenos Aires (CABA) has 3.5 million people. The province of Buenos Aires (PABA), has about 15.5 million people. The province is enormous land wise.
Thank you for this!
You can do rafting and camping in the rivers of mendoza, hiking in the mountains too! ... check the government office of tourism, they have all the information that you need for free, also the municipality offices too.-
Thank you for sharing this!
Where is that beautiful place ??? I will be going in two months and I'm looking for a long term stay place.
Did you watch the video? He shares where they live!
Considering the move as well ! Anyone can attest is is cheaper same or more expensive than Colombia ?
Some things are cheaper, some things are more expensive. For people coming from North America, Argentina is a great deal.
Why not put the wife on the tube?
She prefers to be behind the camera.
I visited Mendoza and noticed buildings and houses had prison bars in their windows. Similar to BA. They're there to prevent robberies. There are also stories of foreigners getting robbed at gunpoint in cities like BA, Cordoba and Mendoza
Have you ever been to Mexico, or USA?! YOU'RE LUCKY IF YOU ARE ONLY ROBBED!!!
@Peter-m5n7m California is one of the safest places in the world. Have u ever heard of Silicon Valley or Newport Beach? Never been robbed. Never even seen a gun!
No Place in South America is really safe, if u are looking for safety then south east Asia is best and cheapest region in the world. I am here ^ years and pretty happy , except hot and humid whole year around , , so I guess no place is perfect lol
That's why we reference the Global Peace Index that ranks countries around the globe each year on safety. Argentina is very safe when compared to many countries including the US. Thanks for sharing!
El Salvador is safe thanks to President Bukele. Antigua Cuscatlan is a nice city.
The reason for the much higher electricity rates in Argentina is that the Milei government is abolishing the subsidies on all utility rates.
Thank you for this!
Is solar energy popular in Argentina?!
Great content. I just made the move from USA to Argentina. I enjoy Buenos Aires but I'm highly considering moving to Córdoba or Mendoza. The biggest highlights is that those cities have nature and beautiful scenery, whilst Buenos Aires is a huge Metropolis (concrete jungle).
Howdy! I'm also planning to visit Argentina. I'm looking to visit Cordoba because it is a Bavarian heritage community. I was stationed in Nord Bayren 1973-1976.
In my mid-later 30s (mid 50s now) I went to Panama, Uruguray and Argentina. Really didn't like most spots, tbh. The bustling city of BsAs suited me best despite its crazyness at times (protests shutting down public transpo, the inflation issue). Costa Rica has entered my view recently. Chile not at all. Makes me curious on Chile, I'll have to read more, cheers.
It's been a long time since I was there, but I loved Mendoza! Thanks for this content. Can you comment on the exchange rate situation? I've heard that the "blue rate" is essentially no longer a thing and that the only rate available is the official rate. Is that true? If so, I would imagine that the cost of living in USD has increased significantly because the "blue rate" gave you about 2X the number of Argentine Pesos for each USD as the official rate did. Are those days over?
Yes those days are over. Blue rate is close to official rate. And items have increased dramatically in price. Still cheaper than US.
@@EXPATditionsUS is cheaper because salaries are much much higher in the US
It’s amazing to see a Country that hasn’t been converted into one big parking lot like the USA! I’m retired and have been looking for a place to. Retire I will put Indonesia on my list. Thank you Kate Gypsy!!
As a person with pets I know that with the right health certificate dogs and cats can come to Uruguay. How is veterinary care in regard to access, cost and quality? Is Uruguay pet friendly? I imagine with all the agriculture farm animals are well cared for, but how about our fur kids?!! Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA
I have been traveling to Costa Rica for 22 years and it is not cheap. Sure, if you want to live in the hood, you can get cheap rent. I lived in CR in 2016 and rented a one-bedroom apartment in a safe area and it was $800 a month. Housing costs are always underpriced in videos because you get what you pay for no matter what country.
If you want to live in the areas where most expats live, you will pay a lot more in any country.
You forgot to mention health care
Tbh people here in Ljubljana are sick and tired of americans coming to live here permanently... the rents are barely affordable for locals not to mention buying a home for a millenial is close to impossible! All thanks to Americans and Russians that potentially increase prices on the market.
Remember, your perspective doesn't necessarily reflect the experiences or opinions of an entire city's population.
Why not Mexico? Mexico is big country you can't find anywhere in Mexico to live comfortably at 1000 per month? 🎉
Mexico is great! We've done a lot on Mexico and will continue as we love the country!
To me Chile is the best.
Argentina is highly affordable BUT the currency's unstable & this affects prices for lots of goods. The Spanish spoken in Argentina is unique & not easy to understand among Spanish speakers -- thanks to Italian immigrants in the 19th century who significantly changed the language. Equador used to be a great option for expats but it changed quickly into a drug cartel battlefield. Think about that before choosing Latin America -- I'd rent & avoid buying property because you could end up stuck in a bad place.
CR is definitely NOT inexpensive
I want to look at the residency requirements in Chile
Nice job. Chile sounds really interesting to me.
Yea, Chile is such a beautiful country!
Hi, Did Mike ever get back with the name of the company he has his inexpensive insurance through? Thanks!
Yea, this is what he said: insurance is with Squaremouth, $180.00 every 6 months.
I thoroughly enjoyed your top 5 picks. I lived in Panama briefly & have been back several times since. It is where I will end up again. Such a beautiful country & the people are wonderful. Thank you.
You don’t have the right prices for Costa Rica. It’s way more expensive than what you say.
Agree to disagree.
Great kingdom of Cambodia 🇰🇭
Sardines are not fried, in Portugal. They are grilled.
Costs Rics murder has increased. President Bukele in El Salvador has slashed murder by building a prison housing 40 K people. Murder is lower in El Salvador than anywhere in Latin America now.
El Salvador is the best. Antonio Cuscatlan is cheap and safe.
Great information, your voice is calm and nice to listen to, thanks for all.
The exchange rate in Argentina is not favorable anymore, I guess
