We stayed in Murcia for 5 months as a trial in 2022 and it rained non stop for three months😂 the wettest winter for a century. Climate scientists say the whole southern Spain will have extreme heat and lack of water. Perhaps closer to the Pyrenees would be a better choice.
@@margaretmacneill3133 It's never rained non stop for three months in Murcia. Maybe stop letting your idiotic political beliefs make you say and believe things that arent true.
Timely video. My wife and I are in Valencia in Oct/Nov 2024. We came here quite excited and for the first few days found the city really interesting despite the amount of trash on the streets. However, that all changed once we started seeing the locals demonstrating against tourists, especially AirBnB users. There's definitely an anti-tourst sentiment here. It gets worse. Outside our AirBnB window we can see garbage dumpsters. We now have noticed just how much dumpster diving goes on in this city. People of all stripes looking for anything and everything. We've also been shocked and disgusted at the amount of defecation going as well. Every day someone peeing all around the dumpters. WTF! This occurred before the flooding even happened. If this is real Spain then we won't be coming back.
You witnessed recent demonstrations in Valencia? I know that there is a movement in Spain that feels overwhelmed with tourists and are certainly pushing back. Spain is the second most traveled country in the world. I've not been to Barcelona in years but I hear it's hard to move around now during the summer months.
Yes, recent demonstrations about tourism. We were also told by our AirBnB host to NOT mention that were staying in an AirBnB because people may become annoyed. Needless to say the mood has changed with lots of people focused on the recovery and their anger has turned to the government's poor response. Lot's of bad governing and the blame game.
Very similar in the Canaries, it is not so much the people against tourism or tourists as they rely on tourists for a living. People are angry at the govts for allowing so many apartments and houses to be rented out as B&Bs and the locals are deprived of having properties to rent at affordable prices for the poor salaries they earn 😢😢😢 We are on Tenerife, rent my daughter's apartment here full time and I look at a block opposite where more than 75% of the apartments are empty 60% of the year! It is truly sad.
There is one State you did not mention that should be on this list. And also should be #1 MOST HATED! That State is my Home State of Oregon. There in Oregon! People are selfish, careless, clueless, dishonest, disrespectful & just plain rude. And they get WAY TOO MUCH RAIN. And they over there do not care one bit how bad the rain is or the thousands killed each year from floods & depression like I do. And if I had the money to move out of that disgraceful state! I would do it! I don’t know how people from the better States that move to Oregon could stand the ongoing rain & the careless vermin of people that live there when I know I can’t! All 10 of those States can’t be half as bad as Oregon. I’ve been to New York, California, Kentucky & Illinois. And you have them on this list. And all 4 of those 10 States on there I have been ARE NOT HALF AS BAD AS OREGON AT ALL. Oregon for BAD STATES is the WORST AS WORST CAN GET.
southwest of spain is hotter than the gates of hell in the summer
Yes, it can be:). You could set up your base in the south and head to A Coruna in the summer:)
The Northern Coast of Spain is amazing, while Catalonia has a much more reasonable summer climate.

Could it be that trash on the streets ended up in the drainage pipes during two years of drought?
