Jeep Road installs offroad sway bar
Просмотров 653 года назад
We install a Raptor off road anti-sway bar. this bar has more flexibility than the stock anti-sway bar but has enough stiffness to still be useable on the road. At least that's what they say in their marketing! I'm looking forward to having to disconnect and re-connect before and after trails!

Jeep Road Search for OHV offroad 4x4 trails in Texas

Following the advice of an app/website called All Trails (www.alltrails.com) I ran the Jeep up to Montgomery county in the Sam Houston National Forest to look for an OHV (Off Highway Vehicle ie ATV's, dirt bikes, 4x4's etc) trail in or near Kelly Pond Loop Rd. www.alltrails.com/trail/us/texas/kellys-pond-loop Turns out I DID find a trail that I ended up going down, but it was made for ATV's or ...

Cane Corso big dogs in a Jeep

It's been a bit of a challenge trying to figure out how to carry my wife and I, our luggage, camping gear and our dogs in our Jeep JKU. We came from a 4runner which had much more room. Nevertheless, i think folding down the seats and putting up netting is the best optikn we've come up with so far.
Clear Creek tr still open for Jeeping

It's Father's Day, so I invited my Dad to follow me and see if we could still go down Clear Creek trail in Pearland. Yep. Still open. In the video i mention Dad's new JK. I know an internet goblin is gonna say they aren't new anymore. I should have said new-ish, and hasn't been offroad, still unblemished, unscratched, unpin-striped, and totally stock. Anyone some folks asked if the tr was still...

Jeeping Schnebly Hill Rd Badge of Honor Trail

Since we are Jeeping on a Budget, we took advantage of a business conference in Tucson, AZ to make the short drive up to Sedona and run Schnebly Hill Rd. This is a little trail/wagon-path that runs from Flagstaff to Sedona. Unfortunately we could only do the lower 4-5 miles. The upper portion of the road was closed for some reason.
Gunner JKU Jeep tries Barnwell mountain for the first time

Chrisy and I took our JKU to Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area with the BCJC crew. It was our first time there and we weren't sure what to expect after 2 weeks of rain and heavy rain that morning! It wasn't awful, though, I think most of the trails were passable. We ended up doing 2 & 3 diamond trails. Some of those 3 diamond trails were pretty challenging, especially as muddy as they were. Wait tell them tires take the fenders off just to heavy to go to steel weight isss eeeeehhhhhhuuuuuge
I drive 1869 every day to go to my house
I'm in Pearland as well. Used to make the run down to Sargent to fish years ago. We'd take CR 230 running up the coast and eventually pop out on the beach and run all the way to the mouth of the San Bernard to fish. From what I'm hearing right now, the San Bernard has silted over and you can keep going and drive all the way to the west side of the mouth of the Brazos. Typically you can't get to the area between the rivers because of the Bernard. Might make for a good run/video right now.
Nice rig !
Thanks you very much my fellow Jeep brother 🫡
What about Sam Houston forest ?

@21_TicZ Where are you driving it? Just around town you can get away with it. Any real hill climbs I would regear.
So towards the end he said off roading...I have a wrangler because I like that I can take the doors and roof off not really going off road..is this information still relevant if not off roading?
I recommend adding an EMP Shield to all your vehicles.
You should check out Bryan Beach in Freeport, TX. More people go there than sargent, but there's some serious off-road sections there.
Good video, I think in January,I’ll head down there grill a few steaks.

[̲̅p][̲̅r][̲̅o][̲̅m][̲̅o][̲̅s][̲̅m]
You know the game warden will seize your rig if he sees you on those atv trails. They are not for cars, but vehicles under 50" wide. You also need a pass and ohv sticker.
I was curious about that place. Thanks for your sacrifice and video as you saved me a waste of time👍
I went here not to long ago, i live 7 minutes from this place. I grew up in Alvin and we used to be able to go off roading anywhere. Now everything is blocked and fenced, use to go to chocolate bayou off 35 until they built that subdivision and closed it off to the public along the bayou. Said it was the neighborhoods private property or some crap lile that.
How is it? I used to go there all the time, i only went down ablit half a mile from the green tee entrance
@6.2LSCREW you have to enter from Pearland Park Way now, you jump the crub, then cross under the bridge. Its okay, its so closed off now you have maybe 1/2 mile, and that's it, and a few cuts threw the trees. You have to be careful, because if the cops catch you they will ticket you, seen them catch a few people before.
@@JeepTrailsandBarbells thats stupid. I used to go for miles out here. Theres nothing to do near clear lake any more. Im tired of this area.
@6.2LSCREW yep, i feel you. Can't go anywhere anymore. The closest off-road parks are creekside and extreme. But they are okay at best. Fun for a few hours, then you're pretty much ready to go. Creekside is only 20 to enter, so it isn't so bad, but still sucks. We actually just went to Hidden Falls this last weekend in Marble Falls. Its a 4 hour drive from Houston. I just posted some videos on it. If you have never been its a lot of fun.
@@JeepTrailsandBarbells i have a 2013 raptor and a couple of fourwheelers, i wish there were places closer to go riding and explore the wilderness in my truck. sam houston is okay too but its all dirt roads and only a few ohv trails. i would like to make a trip to hidden falls soon.
Was there last weekend we had a great time
Does Jones Jeeps rent Jeeps too ?
They use to but I don't think so anymore.
Question. I just got my 4Runner Limited 4x4. I wanna take it on a beginners off road track as I have not done it before lol so I want to know, How difficult was this? Should I get better tires for my truck before heading that way (I have the all season tires from factory)?
We just got a used (2015) renegade that has an ugly hood decal. I want to remove it, should i worry about it not coming off with a heat gun? I dont want to ruin the hood and have to repaint it.. dunno how long its been on there but good lord, its god awful lol. A big black area with bike tire tread thru it.. any advice?
Great video!
Nice crash course into a basic lift, but you missed some very important factors. Upgrading your rear and front track bar’s, drag link (flip), tie rod, control arms, and drive shafts will be necessary. Sure you can throw some 35’s on there and cut those fenders, but you will absolutely hate the ride.
Great area for getting naked!. Lots of seclusion to stay out of public View. I camp and hike nude there quite a bit.
What the heck?!! Are you serious?! LOL! I'm glad I didn't get anything like that on my dashcam!
@@JeepRoad LOL I'm just a nudist, not an exhibitionist. I get secluded where no one sees me.
I have a 10 month old BullMastiff thats about 135 pounds right now and growing, we live in Katy on the west side of Houston and are looking for trails to explore in our JT or even start overlanding soon. I have almost made up my mind to install a Cap on the Gladiator Bed for my pup soon, these breeds are just not suited to ride on the seats once they are fully grown.
Good video and many decent points that make sense. However running 80mph that setup is insane from my experience. I've been testing out Milestar Patagonia tires in Alaska and I believe they said the black wall was the strongest side of the tire so all my white letters are facing in. So Milestar has been extremely reliable for snow and ice plus work great for the summer.
Oohh cool. I didn't know one wall was stronger! Thanks for that tip! Good to know they work well in snow and ice too. We've only had one day with ice in the 3+ years I've had these tires!
We just went for thanksgiving weekend that place is so cool it will blow your mind
I live in the Houston area also, we just picked up a gladiator, can you recommend any locations within a couple hours for us to visit. Nothing too crazy just want to get some dirt on the wheels.
Hidden Falls 4x4 park is near Austin. Probably the best option. But highway 90 east near Crosby has some publicly accessible "trails" mostly mud holes. You could go to Sargent beach. See my video on that for directions and stuff
Live in Houston myself we just went to Hidden’s falls at Marbels falls
Is the clear creek trail still open?
Those are honestly some of the pretty tame trails out there. They have some really aggressive stuff lol. That trail there is my idea of a nice Cruise through the woods 🤘
Hummer h3 on 35s without any aftermarket bs.. Hummer h2 on 37s with out any after market parts... stupid jeep needs to learn something from GMC.
A Jeep was way cheaper then the h2 or h3. A Jeep is a small suv not like the hummer. With smaller diffs and engine a stock Jeep is more capable than h2 or h3
How many h2/h3 you see even still running the roads I can prolly recall like 3 in the last year
@@bartman8876 they may not be running but their frames are good.
@rogeliovelasquez9094 wouldn't know have not really seen them much lol
Thank you for this information sir.
The poster of this video is extremely lucky he didn't get ticketed by the park rangers there. That's federal property and the tickets are outrageous. Most of the trails have been closed from all the serious weather the Houston region has had, so you need to call the ranger office to see if you're even allowed to be out there. Also, it is illegal to ride an ATV on those trails without an ATV license. To ride a dirt bike out there you need an OHV sticker and to pay for either a year pass, or pay at the drop box at the trail head.
I was thinking the same thing...it's an expensive ticket too!
Having spent the last thirty years camping, dirt biking, hiking in the Sam Houston National Forest... I can tell you that for rangers are very few and far between. They primarily focus on off-road vehicles riding on the forest Service Roads, which is illegal unless they are street legal bikes. Rangers never get off road onto the trails.
I have rode my dirt bike out there for 30 years. I have never seen a park ranger giving ticket to anyone on a single track trail. I certainly have never gotten a ticket for not having a "OHV" sticker. But that guy in the jeep is probably going to get his ass into trouble trying to do off road jeep bullshiiite out there. Most of those trail are for 4 wheelers and dirt bikes.
Nice..u have a beautiful dogs..

Did you end up finding out why they were closed? Looking for to go there this October 2021. Thanks for posting!
how do you use the computer to tell it that the tire is a 33?
Glad a forest ranger didn’t see you. Those are designated 40” trails. Max width of 40” vehicles allowed on the trails. Be careful. I’m sure you know of hidden falls adventure park by now. If not, that is a great place to take the jeep
50" actually
We'll be taking the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Gladiator out to Hidden Falls on July 10th. Everyone is welcome to join.
Thank you for the video.
What gearing should I do for my Jeep Wrangler on 35s
You can look up a gear chart for tire sizes. Depending on your engine 4.56 is going to be a good blend of fuel efficiency and torque (offroad capability). If you do more offroading than highway driving you could move up to 4.88 or even more. I commute and drive cross country so i kept mine at 4.56
How's your Jeep these days? Any new upgrades to it? Still taking the Jeep out to its backyard? I need to go check these trails out. Looks like the Hill Country area. And don't mind some of these guys on here giving you a hard time about the trails you did. Obviously that was your first time and you were doing it solo without any guidance. Keep on Jeeping my friend.
Thanks Ace! I REALLY want to do the Colorado trails this summer, but it's looking like it's not in the budget. My next upgrade will definitely be an antirock sway bar. I'm putting $10-$20 dollars aside for that every chance I get. I grew up in Startzville near New Braunfels. Are you close to there?

It's been a year. I need to make a follow up video. My hood stayed clear from my old sticker for about 8 months. Recently i can see the glue residue showing up again where the old vinyl used to be! Apparently i didn't buff out enough clear coat. So weird that it was clear for more than 6 months then started to show again!

I'm trying to get 20+ yr old pen stripes off my '98 F-150. Absolute pain to deal with. I'm using tye Whizzy Wheel, which is similar to your eraser wheel. Even GooGone can't loosen the stripes.
