I had this exact car and color! What a mushball of a ride. So comfy. Needed to put air shocks on the back to keep it from dragging its hind quarters on every dip. Headlight covers never worked.

I drove that car from highschool through my first enlistment. Put 178k in the clock and she still ran beautifully when I sold it, which to this day was a huge mistake. Quick question did the Ambassador become the Matador in terms of top tier at AMC?? My buddy has a Barcelona edition burgundy two tone 360 4 bbl and beautifully done.

Had a 2 door landau, 400 engine, beautiful car, but were under powered at the time due to pollution controls.

We had a mid-level model it was a nice metallic blue with a black vinyl top a bit of trim cloth and vinyl interior AC the 318 which had plenty Gulf power my sister ended up with it eventually and she traded it for a loaded Corolla I always thought very highly of the dark we had a Plymouth valiant before that pretty much barebones it had wheel covers and some trim and AM radio slant six and automatic the gas mileage was really good on that car it was a 69

I knew someone who had one of these with the optional 318. It absolutely enhanced that car's elegant good looks. It goes without saying that to find one today is quite a feat, 8 or slant 6.

Having owned many Chrysler cars in the 1960's and 1970's looking at that dash just brings back so many memories. The instruments, key, gear lever. Wish Chrysler was still that o so dependable car. Put a Dodge in your garage.

He difference in build quality between these and the aspen volare is enormous the old Dart is very solidly built and the aspen volare's although nicely put together feel very cheap and flimsy

Gorgeous car. I can tell by the sound that whoever set up the carburetor did not do it right. It is running rich, the timing sounds a bit too far retarded, and the idle is about 300 rpm too high. Sure is beautiful, though. This is the base model, with few options. The Landau Luxury Group would really make it much nicer. There is something wrong with the door card on the driver's door. The panel with the remote control for the rear view mirror should be a brushed metal plate to match the other 3 doors. I know that panel exists because base Thunderbirds used the same panel, both with and without power windows and/or power locks.
