  • Recently bought this '78 Ford. On of just 14 built to this specification according to the Marti Report. It was ordered new in Belgium and took nearly a year to be delivered, 351M V-8, very basic spec. It was even ordered with blackwall tires when new. 47K original KM's. Sorry for the crappy sound in this video.

No doubt. The 76-78 LTD is indeed the most beautiful ever- manufactured. Love the sedan version in black.

I had a 1977 LTD Landau. It had fender skirts. I sold it to a guy from Germany in the 90s. He shipped it from theUS. I hope he still has it. It was clean. Original paint. Painted on pin stripe.

A neighbor had one identical to this same color. He drove it for 15 years from 1978 until 1993 when he bought a Ford van.

A gorgeously preserved B-EAUTY! Nice color combo, I always liked that Camel interior with a dark exterior. Does it still live in Belgium or is it in US again? I've been a fan of the 75-78 LTD's and Custom 500's ever since they came out. My preference is the Police versions. My first was a 1975 LTD hardtop with that same 351M engine. My second was a 1978 LTD with the 460 Police Interceptor I bought in 1982 from my State Police. Cars that used to be everywhere in the MILLIONS and now you have to look in old movies and online to see them. Getting VERY rare I think. Beautiful car, sir.

I just bought a two-door of the same car no rust absolutely perfect, to keep it from getting sent overseas outside of America. These car dealers get a hold of them and Jack the price up three times it's High book value and Export them and they're gone

Gorgeous car. I can tell by the sound that whoever set up the carburetor did not do it right. It is running rich, the timing sounds a bit too far retarded, and the idle is about 300 rpm too high. Sure is beautiful, though.
This is the base model, with few options. The Landau Luxury Group would really make it much nicer. There is something wrong with the door card on the driver's door. The panel with the remote control for the rear view mirror should be a brushed metal plate to match the other 3 doors. I know that panel exists because base Thunderbirds used the same panel, both with and without power windows and/or power locks.

I thought the "Landau" was the top of the line trim level? Or is the Landau Luxury Group an option package? My Grandfather had a 78 LTD Landau like this in gold/tan when I was growing up and his had leather/vinyl seats and power windows/locks/front seats which I thought was standard equipment.

... Yeah, these Fords are "kind of" of four-door hardtop, but not really. A REAL four-door hardtop has no posts between the front and rear doors. "Nice try, but no cigar." In constrast, the big Chryslers of '74 - '78 WERE real four-door hardtops... and with optional front-door VENT windows, too. .. But many of those big Chryslers had those awful "lean-burn" engines . . . . . So, as usual, it's a trade-off.

Really well preserved example . My grandparents last car. I drove it. How shall I say this, not very good. You sit too low. Handles poorly, slow and was way out of date even in 1978 let alone today.

I see what appears to be cigarettes in the middle console. I just hope you're not smoking in this very nice car.
