I can say the majority of my clients were very ungrateful with not only their temp accomodation but also their permanent offers. We always tried to avoid shared with families. I had clients refusing TA as not enough wardrobe space, no garden, too many stairs etc. Most clients were being evicted by their families due to overcrowding or fleeing DA. Yet happy to refuse a flat because they want a house. There isnt enough affordable housing that is very true. The benefit cap and rental limits set by the previous govt has made it worse. Our current govt absolutely doesnt care either. So glad I left this area of work.

Some of these people would be better to compromise. Their lives are in flux - you want a house with two bedrooms, three bedrooms, and if they can't get it, they reject. But they're be better off compromising. That might mean moving to somewhere other than where they were born. Maybe taking a one bedroom place. Not ideal, but realistic.

It happen here in USA No where is safe from being homeless it suck that people are Thur out because everything keep going up people can't work four jobs if only one person and got kids along for rides only pray to God for them all things get better Ps ... At least there is a government provided stop gap. Unfortunately in the US, once you are evicted even not at your own fault, you have few options except the street.

UK is lot more prosperous after looting 45 trillions from India over 10 decades from 1850-1947 and many more from rest of its Colonies spread over the world. What happened to all that money??

Fraudsters charities is no good when to anyone like me when was forced in to a damp flat kitchen countertops not even level and rotted windows not even fitted properly with a lot of stairs with washing machine broken behind the toilet is leaking wiring hanging out of bedroom walls I have physical problems having spinal problems with having surgery through the years with a child with mental health problems isolated away from my family support over a corrupted social worker that didn’t give a fuck who wanted to separate me and my sons Housing my child is only 12 years old and we’re fleeing domestic and physical abuse from evil police officers who is strangers to us me and my child is uk citizens that never did have a permanent home over council corruptions who accused me of being a junkie and and alcoholic when I’m not treating me to take my child out of my care in the past I was accused of being in rehab when I never was I had police come on to my previous home locking me up for someone 10 years younger then me that didn’t even live in my area my mail letters and my child’s education letters going into next door neighbours who fraud us along with many more ppl she did it to because some of her family working in government and social services but police arrested me when I had Proof of my child’s details with her address on them who was privately trying foster my child through education system police would not do nothing about it only arrested me and nearly poisoned me and the next door neighbour was only laughing pretending to be me with an email having another mobile phone number for me pretending to be my child’s mum when she was a stranger to us Police arrested me instead of her but police couldn’t give me answers and accuse me for fraud having me and my child’s nhs details mixed up because of her but Brent social services come out to my house told me not to worry about it when that was my biggest worry my Motability got stopped my car got taken off me it was her on universal credits not me but now I’m on universal credits so she’s probably living in luxury out of my injustice money in her own country using different ID but yet uk government try do me for fraud even the landlord was all for her because as I said her family worked in government or with Government officials who had evil police attacking me and my child only asked about me and my child’s medical paperwork and she took pictures of my medical after she forced me to take this damp flat why didn’t she ask me about my physical medical before but she didn’t my child never again wanna see her my child knows she did us very wrong

Just remember, when you rent, the property it doesn't belong to you. Landlords have the right to do what they want with their property, so this talk about her paying the Landlord's mortgage is irrelevant. She paid for a space for 13 years, and that's what she got. Is it unfortunate that she has no place to go that is affordable? Yes, it is. It is a tough world out here, so you have to do your best to make good life decisions. People have got to learn how to live together so they can make it.

Why giving a three-bedroom house to a single blonde mother with two small children? Two bedrooms would be just enough.

One thing I cannot understand… why people without any “special great job” prefer to stay homeless but live in big cities like London while they could move somewhere rural and have a nice place to live for less than £1000, for the sake of children. We live in a lovely 2-bedroom cottage with small garden in SW Devon and our monthly rent is £800 per month. Well, we started from £700 but cost os going up. Flats are even cheaper. People without any special qualifications can find job anywhere. In our small town there are plenty of job offers.

And Christmas is cold and there no chance off getting anywere homeless team this time of year 😢😢😢😢😢😢😮

Never ever ever do not sponsor any charity or fundraisers. These days this is a most cynical business ever existed in human history. At any best variant they spent 0.5 % of their funds for the purpose they claimed and again among their friends and friends of their friends only. Base.

I think the only way to fix this is to make landlords responsible for finding alternative accommodation for section 21 evictions. Greedy selfish landlords will vanish if they become responsible for their despicable behaviour.

I will not say where I am, and I wont say what I do, but I deal with families like this most days, it is heartbreaking and soul destroying, I go home some nights totally drained, I want to help these people but I am restricted by rules, and no where to go, the government needs to rush through the no fault eviction law that stops people being evicted for no faults, This situation is only getting worse and needs sorting out across the country. I also do not trust this government to do anything.

Why does everyone call this a housing crisis and not landlord greed? Why do you sugar coat what's really happening? Why don't you talk about wage stagnation - as rents and housing costs go up, cost of living goes up, wages MUST go up. Why aren't you mentioning that?

No-fault evictions should be illegal unless the owner is moving in (which many use as a loophole, but still). Horrid she paid the landlords mortage for so many years and this is what happens.

It's a massive landlord scam. Same here in Ireland. Hotels are now refugee centres - no hate on those coming here, tthey just want a better life

My old neighbour who was in her 70s was evicted from her home after 35 years of renting. Her 90-something year old landlord decided to pass on the house to his 20-something year old grandson, who chose to bump up the monthly rent by £300. It's quite sad, she ended up moving to a shared rent controlled building for people aged 50+. Her garden was beautifully grown with decade old acer trees and mature shrubs. Everything was ripped out, a hot tub was put in and the property was turned into an Air BnB

USA is same, homeless and drug use is big. Apartments is about 2 yr or more wait. If you make $50 extra you have to report it n or no help from aid. We cant fix nothing in house because of food prices and all utilities are so high, make few hundred to much monthbto qualify for help , we are better than most but what do you do about fixing ,car, house stuff, drs ,dentist, anything in emergency? 3 vehicles and all real bad or not running at all. Its a shame. God Bless all homeless, sick ,hungry.
