Hi, both of these cars are excellent. For a novice driver, both are suitable. But I might choose the Honda CR-V gen 2 facelift. My wife drives it and is very happy with the car, the CR-V is very reliable and easy to drive. It is also a bit more comfortable and spacious than the Toyota Rav4 gen 2. However, the car needs regular servicing. If you need any advice on what servicing the CR-V requires, email me and I will advise you. I wish you the right choice and watch out for rust! Just make sure the car's chassis is not rusted.

I agree... I like the look of Discovery 2 the best. But of the regular SUVs, it's definitely the CR-V with the Rav4 gen 2.

Mě se právě na 2 gen hodně líbí ty dveře otevírající se do strany a hlavně ta rezerva na dveřích.. Mám rád tento klasický styl. 3 gen už je spíše crossover.

@andrejs1427 ​Honda má svůj systém 4x4. Real Time AWD (u první a druhé generace byl označován jako Real Time 4WD) Ale jde o totéž, jen v průběhu let byl systém zdokonalován a dostával více elektroniky a čidel. Jde o to, že auto primárně pohánějí přední kola, ale při ztrátě trakce se automaticky připojí ty zadní. CR-V má hydraulické čerpadlo, zadní diferenciál a rozdělovací převodovku 4WD. Čerpadlo neustále měří tlak a když senzory zaznamenají rozdíl mezi oběma čerpadly, zapne se. CR-V má spojku, která spojuje přední a zadní nápravu, která se aktivuje a zapíná pohon všech čtyř kol.

Since the tyres on the Toyota Rav4 were a different size to the original, I didn't want to mention that in the video. The original size for the Rav4 II is: 215/70 R16 and for the Honda CR-V II facelift is: 215/65 R16 (pre-facelift R15).

Yes, it's one of the best off-roaders today. Unfortunately, the current Land Rover models are terrible. The iconic Defender look is gone... and today's Discovery is no longer an off-roader, it's a luxury car for going to the theatre. Sadly, there will never be cars with minimal electronics and no DPF like the Discovery 1 and 2.

Ahoj, omlouvám se za pozdní odpověď. Ano ten zvuk moje CR-V gen 3 mělo. Nejprve jsem to řešil. Auto bylo na prohlídce turba, hadic atd.. Vše v naprostém pořádku. Pak jsem potkal další 2 CR-V i-CTDi a obě měly tento zvuk.. Tak jsem to přestal řešit. Nikdy s tím nebyl žádný problém. Stačí malá neškodná deformace na lopatce turba a už to začne mít podobný zvuk. Neřešil jsem to. CR-V 3 už nemám..

Ďakujem za odpoveď. To si ma potešil, možno to nebudem riešiť ani ja, i keď môžu byť poškodené lopatky variabilnej geometrie, čo nie je vidno bez rozobratia turba. Koľko si mal najazdených km? Môj má 165.000.

@pike1861 Já měl najeto podobně. Při prodeji cca 155 tis. Co jsem na autě ale řešil byl DPF filtr. Rozsvítil se, nechal jsem profesionálně vyčistit+ nové čidlo. Vše vyšlo na veliké peníze, jezdil jsem asi rok, pak auto prodal no a 3 týdny po prodeji mi volal nový majitel, že mu svítí zase DPF. To jediné na autě není dobře řešeno. Regenerace filtru na 2.2 i-CTDi je špatná. Ideálně sehnat kus koupený jako nový u nás a ne v Německu. U nás DPF neměly. Mluvím o 3 gen předfacelift s 2.2 i-CTDi.

@@OutOfTheWay4x4 Mám verziu bez dpf, takže o starosť menej. Akurát musím poriešiť pohon 4x4, pri zábere zadných kolies počuť búchanie, dúfam že pomôže výmena oleja v diferenciáli.

@pike1861 ​@pike1861 Tak originální verze bez DPF je klenot. Jinak určitě do diferenciálu nedávat nic jiného, než originální olej Honda! To je důležité. I kdyby ti 100x někdo nabízel jiný olej do diferenciálu a na jeho štítku bylo, že je na to vhodný. Pak přijdou problémy.

Each manufacturer refers to its 4x4 system by its own name. Honda has chosen the name RT-AWD. And apart from some electronic tweaks, the 4x4 system is defacto the same for all generations of the CR-V. Yes, I know, 4wd is a system where you can mechanically or automatically disconnect one of the axles. Which actually matches the CR-V's system. But the important thing is the naming by the manufacturer. And on the CR-V, it's Real Time AWD. Although some sites say 4WD.

Yes, I tracked it down... The system used to be officially called RT4WD and was later renamed to RTAWD with minor modifications. I don't think I'd bother with that, it's just wordsmithing. And pretty much everyone calls the system AWD these days.

To me 4wd means locking center diff and 2 speed transmissions! 😉

Yes..CRV is a fantastic and versatile car. But the D2 already belongs in the category of true off-roaders.

​@@PatrikKameník-l3g Ano, je v benzínu. Jasně, v dieselu má větší kroutící moment a pak i potřebnou sílu. U iVtecu se musí využívat vyšších otáček a té dinamiky. Souhlasím, Disco Td5 má nejkrásnější zvuk. To už se nikdy vyrábět nebude. To je klasika.

Ale jinak to není úplně porovnání. To se ani nedá. Ty offroadi jsou úplně jiná kategorie.
