Dark Souls 2 here we gooooooo My first piece of advice would be to go down the path by the Majula bonfire with the torch next to it. I think that's the first area the devs want you to explore, but idk with how hard it is to spot 😮 It's definitely easier than Heide's Tower.

The game really has its own charm but playing it is painful lol. I haven't finished it and when I do play it I realise why lol. It's too hard for my ability so rerunning areas when I die repeatedly gets annoying. More than Elden Ring or DS1. My basic controller skills can't handle the spongy controls. It handles a bit different and enemies gank you more. And there's often range shooting out of nowhere while you fight 10 enemies with melee lol. OK that's a slight exaggeration but basically the gist of it. And yet I think of it fondly. It's like chilli or something

"Adp is annoying because I can't level up how I want." Dude. You listened to scare mongers and that's your own fault. You're good enough that you skipped several levels and went straight to Heide's Tower. I'm mid game on a new playthrough and only just hit your level of adp. You also really don't pay attention. Starting area is Forest ot Fallen Giants. The game literally showed you becoming human using a human effigy without burning it. So you burnt your human effigy. You skipped the tutorial rock beside the bonfire that tells you how to light your torch. You also missed that in the room with three knights only one was going to attack. The other two lifted their shield and were just going to watch. Then you ran past and they all went after you.

You should download the DS2 lighting engine mod along with it's textures. It will straight up make the game look Better than Elden Ring

DS2 has a soft spot for me. When I have soulsborne dreams, it’s DS2 dreams. It’s genuinely scarier than Bloodborne for me.

Take the little path down the hill by the first fire in Majula much easier starting route.

My understanding of why people hate scholar of the first sin, is that ds2 was already kind of obnoxious and annoying with enemy placement and mobs, and Scholar made it even worse. Adding an extra 15 dudes to a tiny room that already had 8 on original version. I could be totally off here, I haven't played ds2 yet, but that's what I've come to understand

little tip for ADP just so you don't waste too many lvls, 15 - 20 is a good sweet spot to aim for and you can usually base iFrames off your AGL. e.g. 96 AGL = 11 iFrames (DS1 mid-roll) 105 AGL = 13iFrames (DS1 light-roll)

hey davo got any pro tips how much adp i need in this? im thinking buying this game and since u r the pro maybe u could give some tips?

Stat tips here : *11 ADP is enough as it gives you 89 AGL in your substats and that's pretty much anything you need out of it for most of the game, if you level it up more you most likely won't gain much *You can equip heavy stuff as long as it stays below 70% of your carry weight capacity (it shows it on the side of the equip menu) carrying more than 70% will result in fat rolling *Weapon durability can be a hassle for a few special weapons because they give a magic projectile when two handing them that consumes 10 durability every time you use it
