Also fun fact, as you probably know each souls has a dlc (ds2 has 3, ds3 has 2) and they tend to have the best content in each game. There is no trailer for the ds1 dlc because they just surprised dropped it. DS1 dlc is by far one of the most convoluted things in the series, they had to drop a step by step guide to get to it.
They didn't surprise drop it. They said they weren't gonna do DLC but people asked so much that they made one and dropped it with the release of the PC port.
My only tips are: • Get ready for having pretty clunky rolling even if you’re medium load, I like being light load for DS1 because it’s a bigger difference in this game than the others but it’s up to you • Don’t pick the master key for your starting item. New players love to pick it but it will end up taking you to areas you shouldn’t be in while in the early-game P.S. they aren't called legacy dungeons in any other fromsoft game, just areas. They were called that in Elden Ring to differentiate the linear level design places from the open world, but since the other games are all linear, all areas would be legacy dungeons

Dark souls trilogy is pretty sweet. Pyromancy is pretty great in DS1 cause you can use it on whatever build you go with as it works different from other spell types. There’s also some pretty cool NPC characters and quests.
"One day the Fire shall fade, and only Dark will remain..." This line is at the heart of the Dark Souls trilogy. Elden Ring is a masterpiece literally game of the decade imo, but Dark Souls trilogy is built different. The lore from these games is some of my favorite in gaming.

I'm 23 also and have played Elden Ring as my first souls game ever on release. I have enjoyed your playthrough only 2nd to Jev's and have been here since the first video of you reacting to trailers. The growth has been awesome but let me tell you, re-playing through the game (Elden Ring) is almost always necessary even if it's in new game plus. I still find stuff I've never seen after 700 hours of playing. Even if it's not on cam I hope you go back to enjoy it again at some point. Keep up the great work Davo

I played Dark Souls for the first time back in highschool, before DS3 even came out. It was an incredibly memorable experience and was unlike anything I'd ever played. It's a very different game from Elden Ring, given its age, but it's such a classic it is still absolutely a must-play game. Also, it's not nearly as long as Elden Ring, especially if you already understand the souls combat system, the game will likely take you 30-50 hours if you do optional bosses + DLC.

Something worth sharing, I did the same thing as you, i went from elden ring to dark souls. So long as you don't expect more elden ring you'll be in for some fun
You might already know this from Elden Ring, but if there's one thing I wish people had told me going into this game, it's to *read the longer, detailed item descriptions,* because that's where most of the game's lore is hidden. And yeah, the black knight at the end of the first trailer looks so amazing. Honestly, finally getting their armor in-game was huge for me. Still my favorite gear cosmetically (though it is heavy as hell, and I grinded for so long to be able to fast-roll in it).
I recommend playing with brightness lower than usual, as the Remastered version of Dark Souls has some odd lighting compared to the OG game, you gotta get that true Dark Souls atmosphere 😈
So glad you are jumping to DS1. I jumped there after ER. Take your time and be patient. Really excited to see you do this. I'm currently getting my ass kicked as I went in blind but it's such a cool map. I'm about 30ish hours into the game and prolly haven't gotten nearly as far as I should. Be aware of annoying mechanics like weapon durability and no fast travel between bonfires. The map however, feels so much bigger than it is. Don't take Master Key as a gift the first time. It fucked me up because I was opening doors I shouldn't have had access to. Made navigation absolute confusion town for me.

yeah anor londo is a bigger than renalla's castle but you gotta remember you're comparing basically skyrim to hollow knight in area scales. skyrim massive open world, lotsa stuff in it but each dungeon and city is smaller than an area in hollow knight, cause that's all an area is the dungeon they you're working through. in fact that's why the legacy dungeons were called that in elden ring, cause they were meant to emulate the feeling of their past game where that's all there was, and instead of how metroidvanias work in interconnecting each area tying them together though secret passages and shortcuts the open world of elden ring connects each dungeon tldr anor londo bigger than Renalla's castle, but smaller than the region of Liurnia

Don't know if you have a PS5 or not but if you plan on doing Demon's Souls at some point, you should watch not only the remake trailer for PS5 but also the original trailer for the PS3 version. Sure it's even older than this but that first Demon's Souls trailer is what got me into this whole series in the first place and it still gives me chills.

Careful read npc dialog, look at every thing you can. you skip, you know nothing. my fist round i run to catacomb, it nightmare. and after come back firelink, and some one tell me "ring the bell" and i find it... with gargoyle boss fight.
Honestly just go in a random direction Side note, but do not go to the cave near the fire link shrine, that place had me stuck for 3 months cause of the worst enemies to escape from of all time early game, most miserable gaming experience of my life.
I completely disagree Gael is over hyped as hell no difficulty in that boss, the music and animations are cool though but honestly sister friede and midir are 1000x better.
Dark Souls 1 might be the best game ever if we compare it to the time it came out. Sure, there are things that feel dated compared to today and the game does have flaws but for 2011, this game was amazing. It actually does several things better than even the modern souls games. As someone who started Souls games in 2018 (started with Dark Souls 3, then chronological release order), I liked Dark Souls 1 more than any other Fromsoftware game besides Sekiro.
