Guess it's time for me to binge watch all 692 episodes of Prisoner for the dozenth time. 😂👏🏿👏🏿
Haha what episode are you on now
Yea I remember the scene when Mr craven gave the order to shoot bongo Connors. 1986. Great to see the place. Good video, appreciated you sharing that with me being a big fan of prisoner. Is there a musuem inside ?
This was brilliant, thank you!
Did you enjoy this interview
Absolutely!!@@TalkingPrisoner
How wonderful.
Where did Ken mull Holland go ?
Ken retired a long time ago
Very Good Interview
Do you enjoy the true crime episodes ?
Tottie! ❤
Fabulous interview, I still recall the 1st viewing late to early 90s here in Scotland on the body in the boiler room reveal. Still gives me shivers aged 44 now😊. I also as said many times David deserved more episodes , but nonetheless a classic character. Well done team Talking Prisoner and David Waters Happy New Year all 🏴🍻🍻🍻🤞
Great interview thank you
What a wonderful interview, what an amazing woman, great stuff
Nice treat to rewatch some of these great interviews over Christmas. Happy Christmas Matt and Ken (and Kate)
I always loved that scene round about ep 650 when Nancy and Rita said their goodbyes. So well acted and a tear-jerker. Anyone else remember that one?
Loved listening to Glenda - a great storyteller and very kind and humble. Amazed how much work she did in preparation for Rita's character. Thanks for this interview.
Very good interview...i thoroughly enjoyed 👍😀. I remembered Wally and liked his good character. I could still see some Wally in his expressions I look forward to more episodes !! Its so sad reading that he passed away , not long after this
Thank god you’re back! Fantastic as ever; relaxing to listen to and great reminiscences about his time working with Carol Burns. Lewis 😊
Thank you - It wasgreat to hear about Carol in more detail
Lovely interview. She seems quite formidable in real life. Is there any chance of getting Caroline Gillmer (aka Helen Smart) to do an interview? I absolutely loved her character.
"What do u mean one of" 😂😂😂😂
The episode where Bea falls to her knees utterly broken, as the credits rolled and theme song plays after being strung along by Ken Pearce who she fell in love with, was utterly compelling acting by Val , very emotional, as any man or woman watching could relate , plus other scenes of the genuine love and friendship portrayed on screen between bea , lizzy Doreen after , Lizzy partner had died was very touching.
Will there ever be an interview with Meg Morris, Helen Smart or Randi Goodlove?
No disrespect to Louise, but when she says that Prisoner was about the females and the males being sidekicks and that hadn't been replicated, well I immediately think of another groundbreaking TV show: The Golden Girls. Which took 4 females, made them the centre, allowed them, as older women, to show sides of their characters that older women hadn't previously shown. The Golden Girls and Prisoner really broke the mould in what women were portrayed as.
An Australian Legend
What a great, intelligent Lady. Very diplomatic too. I remember Lexi well from watching Prisoner when it was on TV in Scotland in the 80’s and 90’s. Great conversation.
This is a brilliant interview. Compulsive viewing. Such a lovely humble man with warm humour. I can listen to this over and over. A great role model. RIP.
This and the one with Wally from Prisoner are the best interviews on your channel. And both very different. Matt must surely have surpassed the record of Kenneth Williams (on Michael Parkinson's show), giving the longest answer to an interview question! This was great listening, he has a great style of delivery and many excellent stories to tell. Agreed the Bonzo Burger storyline was poor, but it was the last time anyone in the UK saw him, so is recalled by many. There's still a place for an Adam return on H&A, I'd like to see him wandering around, perhaps in poor health, and be spotted by Alf, who with the help of others gets him back on his feet. Just a thought. It needs doing soon before the generation who can remember watching him are no longer influential. I worked at Staffordshire Potteries factory in those days and got called Adam Cameron, which I always took as a great compliment. I went on to raise my own son single handed whilst juggling work, so I can relate to being a great dad and putting one's own life on the back burner. Anyway, another great show, and good luck Matt for the future, I'd love to see you back on the Bay.
I think the reason Prisoner became so popular here in the UK was that it was shown on weekend nights just as everyone had come home from the pub, and with the advert breaks included, it spun out to an hour, which is perfect after a night out, you were still getting to sleep before silly O'clock. Almost everyone I knew watched it, and it was a case of "Are you watching Cell Block later?", it gave us all something extra to look forward to on weekend nights. Even my dad who was a retired banker and ex drill sergeant and who never watched soap operas, got really into it, and he and my brother met Maggie in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, and spoke so highly of her afterwards, saying she was a real professional and a very warm and lovely woman. Well done, guys, for putting these wonderful interviews together, this one I was very keen to watch. People here in my area, Central UK, will only have seen Maggie as Joan, a few others saw her also as Auntie Jean in Home & Away, so all the great acting of Maggie in other shows is lost to us on this side of the world. That is a shame for Maggie of course. Being spotlighted for just four and a half years from decades must be frustrating, and some of her answers are played with a straighter bat than Geoff Boycott. My friends were certainly fascinated by Joan, both hating her and feeling sorry for her all at the same time, and it could well be that those episodes, now available on RUclips, are fresher in the fans' eyes than in some of the actors'. Still, there were some laughs in this: "The writers were more tired than the actors" had me laugh out loud, and in the dead of night, as I listen to these as I go to sleep. It all reminds me of William Shatner being constantly reminded about Captain Kirk. Great respect for Maggie but just wish some of her other work had been aired here in the UK, I'm sure viewers would have appreciated her as a fine versatile actor. Keep up the fine work. And greetings from England. I
She was a brilliant villain in Prisoner😊
@@StaffsTransport one of my absolute favourites
Another fantastic interview, thanks David and Matt, looking forward as always to watching more interviews.
Thank you, what has been your favourite so far ?
@@TalkingPrisoner I don't honestly think I have one favourite, I there are so many to choose from, Lois and Nell were particular highlights, but then there are people like colette, Lisa Critteden, Linda Hartley and Susan Guerin, who I never thought I'd hear interviews from, and Coral is always a delight, I don't always agree with her, but I think she's wonderful. Again Matt and the talking prisoner team many thanks and I can't wait to see who is next up
Great interview as always Matt and thank you for asking my question (Max Dweeb). David’s a legend and once again, another fascinating insight into our beloved show. Thank you 🤩
Thanks Max for the support 😊
It was great hearing from David. Matt I hear what you say about people think the kangaroos are on your doorstep, I stay in South Africa and people used to think the lions walk in our streets and are on our doorsteps. So funny. 😂
So no lions on your doorstep ? 😂 I can’t even remember the last time I have seen a kangaroo 😂
@@TalkingPrisoner same here with the lions. 😂
Could've listened to him for hours❤
There's something quite extraordianry about the Takingprisoner interviews and that is I'm drawn to them by my fascination for the parts they played in the Prisoner series but I find listening to their discussions about the early career work and their general backgrounds and histories are just as capitvating and interesting as the work they did in PCBH. I think it's great that they give so much of themselves and quite often speak quie candidly about themselves. If there was ever a case of an entitiy truly understanding its fanbase - this is it! Adn a big shout out to Matt and Ken for their work and time bringing this to us.
I enjoyed the interview with David. I liked the Mr Bridges character. I've watched a few of these interviews, it's great. I'm a big fan of prisoner, since 80s. Be good to see Ken, your Co host again. Brilliant channel, look forward to more 😀👍. I've got the full boxset all 692 episodes. I've watched them all about 5 or 6 times now. My favourite all time show the original prisoner cell block h. I even flew from Scotland to visit the studio at nunawading. Melbourne. I had to go on neighbours tour ,so I could see the prisoner block studio. I took loads of pictures of it. Went on tour twice and spent the 2nd tour all at the block h !!. 👍😀
@@chrisreynolds3700 glad you are enjoying the channel, what has been your favourite interview so far ?
Bless. Didn't like her at first, but she just endeared herself to my whole family and grew in importance. By the closing stages of the series she was our favourite. The last 50 or so episodes were terrific, so much quality acting.
Another amazing interview and fascinating inisght into our beloved Prisoner....thanks so much Matt, keep up the wonderful work 🙏
Thank you so much, what has been your favourite so far
Such an authentic interview. I now know who David Waters is much more than the character. Thanks David!!!!
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words

@@bucksby thank you, it was a fun interview
great interview matt. bridges was a great character.
@@waynecooney4643 Thank you Wayne,
Are we going to hear from Nigel Bradshaw and the most amazing Amanda Muggleton ?
It’s mind blowing the guests I have lined up over the coming months ❤
I don't mind waiting for a meal if a restarant is busy - I expect to wait. But it infuriates me when I go into a restaraunt that is empty and I have to wait ages for my food just because they are preoccupied with orders for delivery. If I bother to get off my backside haul it into a restaraunt in the flesh I expect priority over scooter orders.
I can see it from both sides
A plaster of paris head? No way would I let anyone put me through that !
Would have freaked me out also haha
Betty Bobbit mentioned this in her book.
Welcome back, Matt. I've missed these interviews.....Great interview as usual....hoping to meet David next September at UK event....can't wait for more ....keep up the great work.
Thank you, it’s great to be back ❤
Only 14 minutes in so far, yet what a great interview! Matt, it's great you allow your guests the time to speak, even though I'm sure you have loads of questions you want to ask! David, what a great storyteller you are. What a really interesting career you've had - from crossing paths with Cilla and The Stones - and then later, just crossing Joan Ferguson!!
@@2008giles Thank you, I had so many more questions but as you say I love to let people speak and listen 🙏
Awesome.. as a British guy i only know him in prisoner but as stated what an impact he had on prisoner. Brilliantly acted. Great interview as always. 😊
