Hungary closes its main rail terminal to refugees - reported.ly

Trains were suspended at Budapest's Keleti station on Tuesday, September 1, as thousands of refugees sought passage through Austria and on to Munich. Scuffles reportedly broke out as police blocked access to trains, later clearing the station. Hundreds of people protested outside the station, a staging point for large numbers of refugees travelling to Germany from eastern Europe. The European Union has come under pressure to find a common strategy to deal with the greatest number of displaced people since the Second World War.
