and yet EA still don't care...they will still continue to make games the same way they always have...because in their mind they are right and everyone else is wrong. at least some other gaming companies are starting to realise "maybe we need to change our marketing angle" or "maybe we need to change how do we things". i have spoken with various people both in the game stores and online and that seems to be the sort of vibe i'm getting. some companies are learning that after a game doesn't sell well...they alter their way of thinking.
lets look at some examples: Titanfall 1 was only online...didn't do so well. so they made Titanfall 2 offline as well as online...it catered to a more versatile market that way. that is called learning from mistakes.
Meanwhile Destiny has constantly kept online only and it still is doing poorly...because they refuse to alter the game style.
Everyone thought Anthem was going to do really well...but it has fallen faster than a plane without fuel (ironic considering the game play style of being iron man rip offs) and Bethesda hasn't helped by actually BANNING anyone who tries to play Anthem a certain way.
This might be my opinion but fighting games liek Mortal Kombat and Tekken...are designed to be offline...sure you could fight online...and no one is stopping you. but i think priority one in thsoe games should always be to the offline community...so when SF V did the unspeakable and prioritised online over offline...i think i had a good reason for wanting to to sue Capcom.
there was a time when EA actually CARED about good games...when they put work and effort into their games. especially some of their extreme sport games...in fact SSX (Snowboard Super Cross) was one of the best EASports Big games of all time...but it was from an era when they actually made an effort...and characters had detail to them...right down to favourite food. nowadays games are about making your own characters and the parts you customize with require your own money or DLC...so basically you're being ripped off.

hubachecka you misunderstand. I dont dislike MP games. I do multiplayer all the time, but when a game is multiplayer only I get frustrated. Im a huge star wars fan and I wasn't even remotely excited for Battlefront. Like not even SLIGHTLY. I want story with my Star Wars games. I want another RPG like KOTOR. I want something we haven't necessarily seen before. Thats one of the things that made KOTOR so great. Showing us the expanded lore. Thats also why I was so excited for 1313. A gritty SW game about Boba Fett fighting his way through the criminal underworld of Coruscant? That sounded BADASS. Again, it was something we hadn't seen before.

He forgot to mention that the game has less content then the launch of SPLATOON and while I'm not a fan of Nintendo and there games, at least they been updating Splatoon with free content.

Breaking Benjamin takes me back to my teenage angst phase, glad to see theyre still doing stuff though even if my musical tastes have shifted since. But seriously I think Ben should play Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for the NES, he'd probably love that game.
The game is extremely casual and repetitive. You could maybe get about a dozen hours of fun out of it, but it offers very little once you reach the 10 hour mark or so. There's a lot of things wrong with the game, and for the price that the game is asking, it ain't worth it.

this is the new generation, waste of my money but I can get my money back (never bought it, mooched off of friends and family) but what I can't get back that has been wasted is my time. EA why does this game suck, Sony why the PS4, Microsoft why the Xbox One.

I'll admit I liked Battlefront to a degree, mostly the sounds and the graphics and that's actually about it, but the gameplay was rather terrible. You can barely get a kill in that game without having someone spawning behind you and getting killed instantly with some random one shot kill weapon and like what some of you said, there's no space combat, no traditional stuff like in the original Battlefront (Galactic Conquest and such).
This review was more reliable than that of most game *cough* journalists *cough* these days. Just think about that for a sec.
The only game that I enjoy actually getting one shot killed is ARMA 3 or Red Orchestra 2 because they have realism aspects to it, but that's justm y opinion.

This is great .. he clearly played the game for a good ammount of time and I can agree with all his claims about the game. The imbecile and unbalanced multiplayer is a joke and hardly any fun. The only modes I could play was Blast (TDM) and that small map Domination-like mode. Most gamers won't like his opinion because gamers are passionate and are "educated" by what the market has to offer. Benjamin on the other hand is putting himself in the shoes of a critic which has the duty to challange the market with questions that goes beyond what most can see. I'm talking about his opinion that all "online games suck". That may sound dull to someone that expend most of his life playing online but he has a point if you take raw technological aspects into account (ie. compare both online and offline performance). I've never been completely satisfied by my online gamming, but I play the games anyway (until I can't stand all the technical problems that is), so I can certainly relate to what he said. This dude has my respect even thought I never heard of him but sounds like his band is pretty famous.

Damn, I didnt know he was a Star Wars fan. He basically hates this game for the same reasons that I do. Plays like a shitty COD clone. Looks and feels like a Battlefield clone, and the balancing is non existent. Resembles absoloutely nothing of the original two games.
Gotta say I flip between Halo 5 and Battlefront... and Battlefront feels like a massive mess compared. He's right about the hit detection. It's terrible in BF. Hard to tell if you're even making contact. The game is more frustrating than fun.

After following Ben on his Instagram, I knew as soon as the dude asked him about why this game sucks, my immediate thought was, "oh man, you just started some shit you won't be able to stop." Once Ben gets into a rant over a game, he won't shut up about it. Hahaha!
I don't give a crap about EA nor do I like or dislike Breaking Benjamin, but I think Battlefront is a good game and it was worth my 60 bucks. I've had a lot of fun with it and haven't experienced any of the issues he's talking about. Its not a perfect game but its the closest you'll get to feeling like your a part of that universe. I don't really understand people saying you'll only get 10-12 hours out of it when its a multiplayer game. I play mostly walker assault and since its multiplayer its a different experience every time. there are many other modes to try. I just don't get the hate for this game, it beautiful, it plays well and the sound design is amazing and its STAR WARS!

Multiplayer sucks most the time because it's just loaded with: Pay to Win, Microtransactions, Hackers, Laggers, Subscriptions, etc.
Only time I've really enjoyed a multiplayer game was like Diablo 2 or on a smaller scale like co op in games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls, etc

Tiberias even if ea and dice released all the things I loved as dlc and released a version of the game next year that comes with all dlc loaded, I still wouldn't get it. This game is just too sloppy, and I will not corrupt my xbox with its presence.
+Ryan Olivier Completely agree. They catered this game to online multiplayer. Battlefront back in the day for PS2 and xbox was geared more towards single player. If your internet goes out, you are still left with a great game to kick back and relax with rather than this mess where it's more of online gameplay. I'd either want Free Radical's Battlefront 3 or an HD Remake of Battlefront 2 with the expansion pack that was released for five bucks.
I bought the new battlefront and it's now sitting on my desk collecting dust. I decided to dig out my ps2 and I'm now playing battlefront 2 instead and had more fun in an hour with this game then I did with the new battlefront since day one
This is by far the most accurate review of the game. However, I don't think he should rag on online games not being able to function well. EA is notorious for having terrible server connection (at least in my own experience). I decided to give this game a second chance and then couldn't even get matched in a game. THIS FUCKING GARBAGE.

I love the old Star Wars Battlefront games. I love Breaking Benjamin. I agree with this review 100%, EA tarnished a beautiful franchise - everything doesn't feel the same, interfaces suck, gameplay is mediocre, and doesn't give any excitement that the previous games seemed to give. It might be just me being a nostalgic freak, but hey. Not sure why this is getting so much hate.

Not to mention a lot of the points he mentions about Battlefront, also apply to recent Halo games (spawning with weapons without having to earn them, no reward system, lack of ability to map control, etc.).
Although I have my issues with the game as well (bad leveling system, unsatisfying unlocks, long load times) a lot of his reasons sounds like he just sucks at the game.
A Jedi Outcast/Academy with Frostbite engine would win "Game of the year" stamp.

Guys, face it, a game that is rushed is never 100% perfect, especially when it is rushed to be released before the upcoming Star Wars movie. Yes, The Force Awakens is coming, yahoo! But please, give us good quality Star Wars games, it doesn't matter if we have to wait for it after the movie is released in theaters. Me, I don't care if it needs Internet or not (because I play Star Wars The Old Republic, a game partially made by EA) just make it as flawless as possible.
