My wife passed away this year and this is the kind of banter and shenanigans i miss having with her. You guys look so happy :)
I'm sorry to hear that man, I hope you're doing better.
Fuck mate. Sorry for the loss hopefully u find peace soon
I'm sorry for your loss my friend. I'll cherish the next time my wife and I cook together.
my condolences
sorry to hear 😭
"Baby, you got a roux goin'!" was an excellent joke from Lauren! 😂
Fwiw, I would definitely watch this format again. Genuinely entertaining.
Ditto. it makes a fun interlude between more researched or experimentation videos.
Agreed this is the best
The home movie vibes of this video are absolutely immaculate. I love the way you two bounce off each other with the conversation and banter
Even research shows that wife is man's best homie.
Always great when Lauren makes an appearance!
Baby, you got a stew goin’!
I finally understand the lore of "baby you've got a stew going" and I'm very excited! RIP Carl Weathers :(
I am all in favor of Lauren appearing in more videos like this, I love the dynamic you two have
It's early so maybe you'll see this, I went back to your Chicken Soup 101 video a couple days ago because it's a bit chilly here and I felt like making a huge pot of chicken soup, and realized that video ends with the iconic "Baby, you got a stew goin'!" quote. Touched my heart deeply in the days after hearing of his passing 💖
Needed this
@aliboi9859 I wish you all the best.
@@aliboi9859 "I used to pray for times like this" ahh boy
I was doing this Showtime movie, Hot Ice with Anne Archer, never once touched my per diem. I'd go to Craft Service, get some raw veggies, bacon, Cup of Soup... baby, I got a stew going
What's a per diem?
when you are a member of a crew on a film or part of a touring act, an amount of money is given to each crew member per day (hence: per diem) to spend on daily expenses like food. this is so people don’t spend their entire paycheck on what they need to live during filming/tour/etc.
Non-taxed travel money companies are allowed to give you daily. IRS caps the max amount.@@bethanymcmurtrey9542
I buy all my cars at police auction
Adam, can you give us the version which would make someone blind for a day?
Is this a hybrid between the cooking videos and the podcast? I think it's a winner.
Absolutely love how chaotic, personal, and realistic this video was! Would love to see more of these “casual” recipes along with the more curated videos.
You and Lauren messing around in the kitchen is now my favorite video format
I always love a good double entendre, but it's even more fun when it's a couple making them together.
I didn't even know Carl Weathers had passed. What a great way to honor him even just a little by getting a stew goin'!
This is great.
The banter and Adams concerning knife waving all in one video
This might be one of my favourite vids on the channel. A super laid back and fun glimpse behind the Ragusea production curtain, commemorating a really cool dude, with a stew that really did get goin (baby). Thanks Adam and Lauran :)
One of my favourite things to do - especially a lamb stew (Im British, lamb is life) - is add pearl barley, enough to considerably thicken it. It's just like the porridge and rice lovechild everyone always wanted!
Pearl barley makes EVERYTHING great
This is fascinating to me because we use pearl barley to thicken soups frequently too, but only ever for sweet soups (Cantonese tong sui, basically). I literally cannot imagine pearl barley in a savoury soup, but I ought to try it!
Oh yeah, it goes really well with lamb and root vegetables like carrot, parsnip or swede
@@Ealsante
@@Ealsante my mother is of German descent, so I think that's where she learned it? Or possibly from some British influences like the original commenter. That's really interesting that sweet soups benefit from it too!!
@@Ealsante funnily enough, the idea of a sweet soup to me is new!
A unique way into an average American family cooking dinner and remembering a man who gave them such good times entertainment wise. A wholesome tribute. RIP Carl.
This was genuinely delightful to watch.
Wow. I had no idea that Carl was the origin of the ‘baby, you got a stew going.’ Wonderful tribute to a wonderful actor and soul.
I really appreciated how more "homemade" this video felt. It wasn't edited and "youtuber voice"d like a lot of videos are these days. Just a guy and his wife humoring each other while making some good food
Apollo will always be the Greatest! RIP
It's hard not to love Carl Weathers. I'm sure he would've appreciated this tribute!
You can feel how much fun youre having
Love your banter with Lauren! More of her please!
I was grinning ear to ear watching how much fun you and Lauren were having 😁
Arrested development is a criminally underrated show even today.
FYI Lauren’s pronunciation of mauve that she heard from a video is the correct one actually! The one she repeats the 2nd time is maaaaybe from like a south of France accent but 1st one is pretty spot on French Parisian sounding.
Thanks for that cool video, had been a while since I thought about those hilarious lines from the show! RIP Carl
Thanks, but aren’t we talking about the ‘correct’ or ‘normal’ pronunciation in English? Maybe even specifically in American English? Why would I want to pronounce a loanword that has long been part of the English language as if I am speaking Parisian French?
@fordhouse8b idk, I speak Australian English, with admittedly not a very strong accent, and I've always read/pronounced it like the one Lauren said she heard. So, maybe it is a loan word, but it is pronounced that way in at least some English, too...
@@LillyPeppermint Well, the ‘best' way to pronounce ut is of course the way it is usually pronounced in your particular dialect of your own language.
@@fordhouse8b Where did I say American English should be pronounced differently? I just said the way it was pronounced sounded exactly like how most people would say it in France… chill!
@@Boring_Book_7539 Where did I say you said that. You brought up the subject of how they say it in France while commenting on a video that was not about how the word is pronounced in France. Which is fine. I brought up my opinion that people should pronounce it the way it is normally pronounced in their own dialect and language, just like the people in Paris pronounce it one way, and the people in France say it another way. This opinion need not presuppose that you disagree with it, or that you were arguing for a different one. You were not. You didn’t bring the subject up at all, which is why I did.
I definitely love the more planned format but this was a nice dynamic.
I am super sick right now, and this slightly unhinged video full of banter and love, made my morning great. This was a sweet and somehow intimate way of making a stew video, and I loved it.
Adam and Lauren making stew in honor of Carl Weathers wasn't what I was expecting today, but I love it. ❤
Rest in Peace!!!
Also, I know it's potentially an overreaching and parasocial observation, but I love you and Lauren!!! I can feel your chemistry and mutual adoration through the screen, and it's so heartwarming💖
Here's to you, yours, and the many stews you have yet to get goin'
Tres beautiful! Thanks for sharing you love of stew and our dear Carl! R.I.P. brother!
There was something about the way this one was filmed that was quite sublime. The kind of banter and shots you were getting was often "home video", combined with high-quality cameras. It felt like something you could really connect to.
I like this new format. You learn to cook and a little about some historical marvel.
This was such a charming format to see you and your wife enjoying making a stew together and bantering back and forth. Can we have more of these videos!?
That was more wholesome than you might think. It's great to see good vibes in the family.
Great job both of you!!! Always keep that mentality!
Been watching Adam for years now, this is by far my favorite video of his! Feels so genuine and authentic, just like anything Adam does :)
4:30 Adam rizzed me up so hard 😭
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm so glad to see the production on these vids relax as much as they have. Tells me The Rag is getting more time with the fam. Awesome.
A clever tribute and a fun video to watch. Always good to see a video where you and Lauren are having fun.
"Baby you got a roux going" got me 😂. Nice one Lauren
I really love this conversational format!! so great!!
This is unbelievably charming! Your dynamic as a duo is delightful. 11/10 would recommend this recipe
Thanks, Adam and Lauren!
Loved this video. Love the chaotic energy in the videos lately. Love seeing the chemistry between you to. Great work as always. I really enjoy all of your content. The videos are always so down to earth and relatable. It is really nice.
this was one of my favourite videos of yours ever, such a fun lighthearted energy
love the banter between you two. would love to see more of these
This is simply delightful, thank you!
This is literally the BEST tribute and talk about the passing of someone on the internet of ALL-TIME.. straight class. Great job & great video guys! At no point did y’all make it about yourselves. Just a straight up remembrance 💪🏽
I liked this video and then immediately wished I could heart it instead. Loved the spontaneous vibe, the tribute to Carl Weathers, and especially your special chemistry between each other and fun jokes. Thank you for sharing this small window into your life and spreading your joy to the internet :)
Watching this on Valentine's day warms my heart :) thank you for sharing, Adam and Lauren
Love the tribute to Apollo Creed. His moments in arrested development are legendary.
Something i really appreciate Adam as he has changed and moved all around since “we” have “known” him, is that some things are constant, and that’s a really great thing.
Using the same dishes for years, yes!!! Why waste money on junk you don’t need? You don’t, but you could! Buying a better house for a family, high quality cooking implements, etc. yeah absolutely, but why reinvent the wheel when it already exists?
Just spreading my appreciation far and wide, love seeing Adam and Lauren cooking and podding together
This was a really great format!
Absolutely!
Adam Ragusea cooks stew in 10 minutes. Lauren sets up enough "that's what she said" jokes for the entire RUclipss in 10 seconds.
This was a very fun video hearing you two banter and be silly. Love it
The beauty youtuber Lauren is talking about is right in her prononciation , 7:16 is almost the exact french way to say it !
cant believe lauren was in the originals, one of my favorite shows! that's so cool!
i want back and watched her scene, she was one of the witches of papa tunde's coven
This was a pleasure to watch, great work!
Love the chemistry of 2!
Hell yes! Knew you’d be an Arrested Development fan. RIP, Carl.
edit: as a native French speaker, it’s “moh-ve” just like how Lauren pronounced it, not “maw-ve.”
I think that the colour was accidentally invented by a French scientist, when he was trying to do something completely different. We call it 'Moh-ve' here in the UK, too. That's the only pronunciation I have ever heard used - it is similar in sound to the word 'Fauve', meaning 'wild beast', which was given to an art movement. It's said as: 'Foh-ve' .
As a Brit, I've heard other Americans say "maw-ve" - I think it's just a regional pronunciation
@@mikegreen3485 I wonder if the fact that it's related to the plant genus _Malva_ could influence that? In the UK, correct pronunciations of French words are more common than in most parts of the US.
Arrested Development has the best comedy writing of any show ever, it's not even close. No other show has even come close to doing what those writers managed to pull off.
My favorites were when you'd see something barely noticeable in one episode that comes back in a later episode in the most hilarious way.
Dude, literally almost every single line in that show is a joke in some way or another! Some are obvious, but it's the subtle ones that really leave me in stitches. It's absolutely genius!
Well except that comeback season…
@@mzaite Never happened. There are only 3 seasons of Arrested Development.
the first season was by far the best. second was good. 3rd was eh
I don't remember if it was on SNL, Mad TV or what, but Carl Weathers did a sketch once about being governor. It was basically just him pointing out that he was in Predator, so *obviously* he should be governor of somewhere. He really sold the joke.
Love the interaction! You both are awesome!
I really like watching you joke around with each other.
Absolutely adored this video, thank you for sharing this with us Adam!
Feel free to make more videos like this. You two are such a likable duo. 🎉
Thank you, Adam. Saw your comment on the Arrested Development clip with the Stew going clip, glad ur honoring the man, Carl Weathers, for one of his most memorable 2000's appearances
Thx for doing this for Carl. 👍👍👍👍👍
This format is AWESOME! I'd love to see more Lauren in the cooking videos like this.
Among the first thousand! Lol.
This one was great. Love the stories. This is really how you cook with family at home. You joke you're casual.
As a millennial born in 92 who does not care for movies Arrested Development is quite literally the only exposure to Carl Wethers I have had. Such sad news, but always a pleasure to get to see the two of you on screen together. Thank you for this Adam and Lauren!
Such a wonderful episode! Thank you 😂🤣
i love this type of video, its like the podcast but with cooking and other antics
This was awesome and the two of you are so adorable!
Love you so much for this.
This! Is!! An excellent!!! Video format!!!!!
Just want to say I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you quoted on Queer Eye recently. Well done.
You guys are great!
This. This is what "they are so cute together" really means.
Thanks for making this, you guys are awesome and it helps to process the loss.
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is my favorite sitcom of all time! So glad you brought up Carl weathers on AD as he was hilarious portraying an exaggerated version of himself
Omg it used to take me ages to cook a stew, i never knew it could be so fast and simple and still taste so good. Thanks Adam
Thank you so much for two dirty jokes I saw a mile away and still laughed at. I appreciate you.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your love with us, it’s so pleasant to see ❤
The content just keep getting better and better. Love this new phase
Love this casual filming style!
RIP Carl. I also made a stew when he passed for the same reason honestly.
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
I love how even in his Chicken soup 101 video he also says "Baby you got a stew going!" at the end of it
A perfect send off. This is the perfect use of this venue. I love you gize.
God why was this so enjoyable, am I getting old?
Less of a cooking video and more of a podcast with cooking, but it's lovely, I really enjoyed the family vibes!
I didn’t know where you were going with this video, but after hearing your explanation I appreciate the video. As always I enjoy watching your videos. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Holy heck, there's small print in the ad section. Awesome!
Awesome vid, this type of vid is hilarious and comfy and Lauren is awesome. More like this!
This video is really good! Format like nothing I've seen before, chatty and enlightening.
Comedy food show 😂 I love Lauren!
Thank you for mentioning Carl Weathers. You have a new subscriber.
