    Just a personal thought - a person doesn't need to douse the screw with Loctite as the threads are through holes into the slide body. You don't want to run a chance of the loctite dripping down into the innards. Loctite "dries" in about 10 minutes but fully "cures" in 24 hours so a person might want to consider leaving the gun upside for an hour after the screws are in. Or not ... it's America after all ;)

      You shouldn't be putting enough on to drip, but I get what your saying.

    Got my gun (with factory installed SMSc) went to the range and after one box of ammo I pulled it out of the holster when I got home only to find the mounting screws had come loose. I'm lucky the sight didn't just fall off the gun while I was riding my motorcycle. NO LOCTITE at all.

    So, listening to this video, should the red dot be cowitnesed with the iron sights? As in, if the irons are lined up on target, should the red dot circle of the Shield Mini be half on the front sight post?

    • @TeamTnA44
      @TeamTnA44 Год назад +1

    • @robsherrill6436

      You should line them up, red dot half way up the dot on the front sight. If for some reason the battery dies or the RDS doesn't wake up when requested, you will still have a valid sight picture.

    I bought my Hellcat OSP today (HC9319bospsmsc) and the SMSc was not factory mounted as mentioned in the listing at Bud's. While attempting to mount it myself tonight, there was only 1 M4x8 screw and 1 M4x10 screw included. The Shield Sights Instructions included lists 2 of EACH. There was only one of each in the box. The M4x10 is too long. How can I get another M4x8 screw as soon as possible?!?

    Also there are two sets of screws of different depth in the kit and you didn't mention which one goes with the hellcat OSP. You've made a powerful enemy even if the answer is fairly obvious.
    For as much as I had to pay for this maybe a little bit more than a "Once you're finished mounting the site we are not responsible for what you shoot at" product manual. How much would it cost for a little bit more paper? Is not how you charm consumer market. If you were the cheapest contender then it would be different but you're supposed to be premium.

      8mm with the shim for the hellcat. The screws that my pre installed wasp came with were 7.5mm. The hellcat manual has the max length the screws can protrude from the bottom of the sight. Looked it up the screws cant protrude more than 2.4 mm from the bottom of the sight.

    • @ericandi
      @ericandi 4 года назад

      K C the existing plate that was on the Hellcat was pretty hard to remove. Neither of the Allen wrenched that came with the Shield Sight fit the screws that held the stock Hellcat plate in place. To remove the existing plate on my Hellcat, I had to use a small star shaped screw head from a computer repair tool kit with a torque screw driver that has multiple changeable heads. Once I got the plate off, then I used the short screws that came with Shield Sight, without the clear plastic washers, and I used the larger Allen wrench that came with the sight to tighten the screws to attach the sight to my Hellcat. Once I got both screws tightened down, I already had a perfect zero alignment between the Shield Sight red dot and the fiber optic iron sight on my Hellcat.
