"Well...Goodbye Gordon!" I'll be truly honest here, I never thought i'd hear those words ever. But hey! sometimes goodbyes don't last forever, I wanna believe this is not really a goodbye, but a "We'll see you later Gordon! The worst part is that he says goodbye with such a big smile, Coomer doesn't let his fear stop him from doing one last effort.
They did eventually rob that bank they said they wanted to do in Payday 2 VR. Took a bit of digging but you can find a fancut version of the stream on RUclips!
God, Coomer's goodbye gave me Doki Doki Literature Club flashbacks, and after everything they went through together in Black Mesa, it just makes me cry even harder.
Think a lot of us got the flashbacks... Knew it was Monika's final words immediately upon hearing them and goddamnit are they happy flashbacks. Well, least they didn't play "Weight of the world" or else I'd have been truly fucked from both DDLC and N:A flashbacks
That entire speech implies they all knew the entire time that once the adventure ends they could vanish forever and still helped Gordon on his trip and had fun. They basically knew there was a chance they were sacrificing themselves for one persons entertainment and they did it anyways.
Spoilers ahead: well for most of the journey a lot of them thought their world was real even up to the final fight, Coomer comments about how this world may not be real right as they destroy his passport which is near the end of the series

After that I see flashing lights and I can't even think of anything because screams fills me, it's like in hell... So Gordon, please backup my file if something awfull happen. this was just the first time coomer tried reaching "wayne" while he was "offline" who knows how many times he tried to reach out to Gordon. all we know is that... the year is 2040 and coomer has just about given up hope for gordon coming back
i hope they do half life: blue shift or half life: opposing forces vr, but the ai is aware. Especially blue shift, since it takes place at the same time as half life. Would explain benrys backstory too!
This part of the video made me extremely emotional, I was upset yet happy at the same time. I just hope that Wayne doesn’t end the science team madness here, maybe he’ll make a series in the other two half life games, and maybe after that he’ll use other games entirely. This better not be the last we see of our bunch. It can’t.
Half Life VR AI has actually helped me alot and changed my life forever, it helped me get through really really rough times with life, it was the only thing that gave me joy during these times, and when I look back it brings me to tears, this was like I said a real life changer for me, I am not one to dramatize but this may have even saved me from commiting suicide, it gave me alot of joy, and I remember when I was sad or angry I would watch their episode again, eagerly waiting for the next one to release. I loved this, and I can't wait for Half-Life 2 but the ai is self aware.

For how goofy and ridiculous this whole thing was, I think it was that goofiness that made this land so well. The hints that coomer knew what was coming were really great and that final speech seals the deal. Never thought a VR improv bit would have such a bittersweet end

I love how the science team gives Gordon Extreme amounts of Hell and Grief throughout the series, then we get this heartfelt goodbye at the end. It's silly but still good. :P By all accounts tho, they're in a scripted Garry's Mod version of Half Life 1. By lore, Gordon would just need to loosen up their code a bit, throw in some Admin rights (not too many) for the group, and they can make their own worlds or visit others. All of GMOD at their fingertips. They can't go into the real world, but it sucks anyway so GMOD is pretty great in comparison.
This is so sad, yet I know there is time line were gordon does keep the science team on a floppy disk or something. That time line cheers me up about this goodbye Dr.coomer gives gordon. Who knew a really funny series could make so many people cry from laughter *and* sadness?

There been ports of the maps but just for rp purposes dont think blueshift or Opsforce have a source port, but Black Mesadoes luckly
