I love his mindset. With his experiences, some people might see them in negative ways or racism but he chose to see them in positive ways.
I give you a lot of credit for learning Khmer. You have to remember that Khmer people do not tolerate discrimination against anyone, compared to living in the U.S. It is good that you can show right and wrong with Khmer people. Don't worry. You will find a sweet person to love since you know some Khmer languages. You have to be patient and keep interacting with women.
I was born here, There is a huge racism problems towards ethnic minorities groups ( cham Vietnamese…) and as well as colorism but it’s rather ignorance than arrogance when it comes to foreign people of color due to not as much exposure to education than the rest of the developed countries, but that does not make it okey.
After what the Cambodian people have been through, I grant them the right to do whatever they please.

As a Cambodian, I am very happy to you and other foreigner enjoy their time here!

It's wonderful to hear you appreciate the rich Khmer culture and the warmth of the Cambodian people. My beautiful country Cambodia.
So basically you are the type to easily be seduced by artificially flavored house made of candies and words built by witches and sorcerers? Gotcha.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback of our country. Love the videos.
Thanks for you honestly 😊 about Cambodia 😊
Great Interview, wish you great success in Cambodia

Thanks, from Cambodia. We love you as our family.
Nice interview
Thanks a lot to Mr. Austin Tukwa and his guests on this show for touching on "racism in Cambodia", a rather sensitive yet it's like a norm, I guess. I also like many other contents you've posted--it's real, positive and respectful. Sincerely impressed by your Khmer skill! Love, respect and best wishes and God bless you.
I Like you Sharing About Cambodia🤩😍🥰👏👏
AWESOME...WELCOME TO OUR COUNTRY...I USED TO HAVE FRIEND FROM GHANA, WE PLAYED SOCCER TOGETHER WHEN I WAS AT SCHOOL...HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY...💯❤
Well spoken and good manner. For you to have met the PM that is in itself a paranormal activity. You sounded very diplomatic. You kept me entertain throughout the video. I actually finished the entire video. 👍
This was beautiful. I respect his acknowledgment of the peoples ignorance. The country came back alive from year zero most Cambodians that survived didn’t have the opportunity to acquire education. We need more people like him in this world. ❤✌️
Wave Amazing, you speak Khmer good. Thank you so much for sharing about my country.

Thank you for talking good about Cambodia. Cambodian are with friendly behavior and welcome all people from the globe. We are not racist but we are helpful and kindness. Anyway, welcome to Cambodia 😊
Hello from Cambodia, you are welcome...
Having lived in Thailand for many years I can testify that the racism there is very real. Against all forigners. As a white.. i am more of a 'novelty' racism exists but mostly not a hinderance to life.
The racism I saw against Indians, khmers, Burmese was shocking. These ppl were suitable in the country as 'servants' or labor and anything else was against the kingdom. The racism against Africans (black) was even worse. Not to their face of course but at all other levels. Including simply serving me before serving them in a shop and i have asked..."hes next not me"... they continue to serve me.. or show real contempt at being pulled up on it. Cambodians 'seem' a lot less fake... but I havent lived there to know. So i enjoy getting this videos take on it.
Ladyboy land always been racist.
@@SirNova2o9 they are but they will deny it. same with the vietnamese.
Why Khmer choose to work or visit Thailand given the history is on them when they’re treated like second class citizens. And how often are you seeing discrimination against blacks in Thailand? Because I’ve seen a lot of videos by African Americans saying the complete opposite, of feeling safer and treated better in Thailand than they do in the USA.
@@d.c.3534Thais are racists against its neighbors and blame them for crimes because to make them feel better…
Khmer have family in Thailand becuase believe it or not we didnt leave when the land was administrated from the Khmer Kingdom to the Siamese. You wouldnt be able to tell us apart anyways because we speak both languages fluently. @@d.c.3534
Sending ❤from Cambodia by Cambodian. Thanks. That’s the way we are.
I agree that, most people there use the word that they don't realise, it coud be racist, I would not think that it is intentionally meant so. They are super friendly.
Thump up for ur describes about Cambodia . Some foreigner just came by for short time but judgment without experience for living here, then spraying the poorest opinions about Our Country.Rememer Khmer Ppl always Bring the Word Respect before coversation. Not like other country spray bad about us.
Cambodian society teaches the youngs to be very respectful to strangers, elders, and family and to avoid conflicts at all cost. That said, there are the few exceptions so we'll ignore those. When it comes to racism, it doesn't come up. What you will experience might be class difference. Some rich people can be very pompus and will judge you on your looks.
Yes right Brother 😍🥰👏👏👏
@@ngetbun5526 It's not racism that he experienced. He experienced the arrogance from upper class. Many of the poor in Cambodia is being treated the same way. It's a sad reality.
Live and learn khmer language big credit for you, bros
No racist in Cambodia talk to them and respect
But maybe just a little joke for them and in their language in a way
But not for real.
They are doing everything to accommodate the local and the tourists.
But remember, Cambodia country genocide has just finished 40 years ago
They're not looking for that ever again, and so much to develop in Cambodia.
Peace out .
Stop making excuses they are racist
Peaceful, respectful, considerate, loyal and humble are the noticeable personalities in most Khmer people in Cambodia. I can't say the same with Khmer who lived overseas. Anyway, this has always been our common traits. We expect the same from others. Respect is earn, no demand. However, we hold grudges when those good traits are violated. Please keep that in mind.
Respect is through birth and genetics just like the idea of the hereditary prince or princess in stories and movies. Looks like you haven’t been paying attention to the moral stories or underlying messages in fate tales like I do. Don’t be a real life maleficent or Jafar.

There’s a difference in culture that will clash with Khmer that you need to acknowledge and an example are videos like these. Even though the person being interviewed is for the most part positive, content like these would be considered disrespectful to Khmer because it’s essentially losing face. If you were invited over to someone’s house, you don’t openly complain about the food prepared or the accommodation provided. I don’t understand how Cambodians can say the smallest things against the government or voice concerns about neighboring countries and they get jail time for inciting chaos. But why when expats create videos talking about racism in Cambodia, trying to paint Cambodians with a broad brush, it’s not seen as inciting unrest?
@@d.c.3534 Who cares for the opinions of people. Doesn’t bother me at all. This isn’t and shouldn’t be a Yelp review and black people are always accusing people of racism so who cares.
@@EvanChorm-le6tn when do you want to care? When a certain demographic grows to a certain point and they start protesting in the streets of Cambodia? I’m pointing out the leniency that the Cambodian government seems to extend to expats that they do not for Cambodians in terms of free speech.

wow, I am speechlessly impress with speaking khmer language, hope everything will be successful for you brother, God bless 🥰🇰🇭🙏
I can feel for you. Being black is not easy in Cambodia and other countries in the region of SE. I would say it’s the matter of discrimination rather than racism.
Wow so cool your khmer is so good❤️ love it beautiful
that so nice to hear about that ma man 🎉
Before the war, there were men living with men, women living with women relationship. We all know they were couples, but we only joke with them and they were left to live life the way they wanted. We all live and joke together and never harm anyone to the point of discrimination or racism.

As a full-blooded Cambodian, I can say for certain that some of them do, in fact, joke about other people's parents. It's just an action that is frowned upon by most adults and by well-disciplined youngsters.
Thank you for loving it as a Cambodian I want people to appreciate their. Time here .
Mad respect with this man who proud to speak khmer while some of khmer pretend not to speak khmer or understand khmer.

Next Tiger Economy? That's a pretty bold prediction. I guess we will have to wait and see. Nice video though. Very informative.
In my country, no one care about your skin look white or black because they will know that not all people are living in the same place or the same habitat. However, most people in Cambodia think that those foreign people may be rich due they can travel or visit to another country. Also, as a Cambodian I would like to pay respect every regions in the world including both of you, too. 🙏🤝
I had been visiting in Ghana several times while I joined UNMIL in Liberia.
bro even in prison we get a long, much love my brother.
From my perspective, skin color doesn't matter since us cambodian from the ancient time also looks black and curly
We didn’t look black. We looked Southeast Asian or more specifically Asiatic mixed Indic. Or maybe even more so native Polynesian.
@@BeauBodhi88 we were a black asian people in the past before the migration of viets, thais, chinese, lao and burmese into south east asia and mixed with us. just like how andamanese islanders are black asians and not african

Wow, amazingly talented Sam. Your knee is a lot better than me, immensely embarrassed 😂 with this much knowledge of RS ethnicity of language and cultural I recommend you to open a Ghanaian restaurant ❤
Your Khmer Language very good!
almost got beaten once, because I learnt the N word from the internet. Thought it was normal to call people with black skin in Europe🤣 , so I used it. Anyway, they were nice and told me the real meaning behind that word.
Nice explanation
I'm Cambodian being black is not bad thing BUT their personality
That's a very ignorant comment. Very bias. A person's personality doesn't reflect on a person's color. There personality reflects on there character.
Thank you ❤

It is true that cambodians love spicy I mean I'm Cambodian and I eat so much spicy food
Cambodian is not racist people. We welcome all people around the world. Black or white is not a matter here; we have Cambodian with different faces and skin colors.
They are racist💀 maybe not all of them OBVIOUSLY
nahh trust me, mostly old bodians they still have that narrow mindset, they call black people " អាខ្មៅ " or fat people " អាម៉ាប់ " it doesn't meant in a bad way, they still treat like everybody else, they don't call that for discrimination or hatred, it just sort of reaction in a funny way, it meant no harm.
the new generation are more mindful and open to different world, right now is the best to time to visit cambodia.
He has a positive mindset.
I'm Cambodian but love corned beef with shito and peanut chicken stew
Just don’t feel bad brothers!
Our Khmer people are races against our people all day as well.
The N-word in Cambodia doesn't really carry the same weight as it is in the US or anywhere else. Just like u said, it is basically ignorance, most Cambodians think that the N-word just basically means black people. Also, it's not really much of discrimination but rather more of a curiosity. No surprise that there aren't many black people in Cambodia, so yeah haha
Actually most khmer people like black people
Thanks for loving us ❤
his khmer accent is fucking legendary i thought he was khmer for a sec holy shit
Oh wow,you speak Khmer so good.👍🏼👍🏼
Sending love to good people from a Native Khmer in Mekong delta VN (Vietnamese Cambodian). We have no racism toward other ethnic/race but yes as you might know there are a lot of people from neighboring countries nearby Cambodia have been trying to distort the history, degrade the Khmer culture and legacy, they claimed it and sending distorted posts, comments. So be careful with those fake smile, I wish you all have a happy and fun life in Cambodian or any else where, lean to reputable sources like Britannica Dictionary if you want to understand the history of SEA.
