    ABOUT THIS TECH TALK:
Discharge limits trends continue to become more strict, especially related to TSS (total suspended solids), COD (chemical oxygen demand), and specific nutrients, such as nitrogen.
Biological Aerated Filtration (BAF) delivers high quality effluent in a compact footprint. Various manufacturers offer variations of this technology, with hundreds of municipal WWTP installations since the 1980s globally. BAF integrates biofilm-based biological treatment with filtration, producing excellent effluent quality in a single step.
The webinar aims to present Veolia's Biostyr™ technology along with its latest improvement, the Biostyr DUO, with its various treatment configurations including carbon removal, nitrification and pre and post denitrification. Several case studies, in various municipal applications, will also be discussed to illustrate how the Biostyr technology can be integrated in a small footprint wastewater treatment system. Challenges and advances in the technology will also be discussed to bring a comprehensive understanding of this fully proven biofiltration technology.
