Sure, all of these new handheld gaming PCs that are coming out can be connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard to be used as a traditional computer, but then those and large, heavy and static, and not integrated into the device. So when you start using them as PCs, they're no longer portable. But this model has portability for both the gaming aspect AND the PC aspect. It's doing something none of those other models are. You could use it as a laptop to write a report while sat on the train, then switch over the playing your favourite game. That said... It looks quite heavy and awkward to hold when using the gaming controls. I don't know how long someone could comfortably hold it for in that position. And it is a bit larger than I'd personally want. I'm sure for some people it'll be exactly what they're looking for though!
The controls placement seem very similar to the Steamdeck, but with the full-sized keyboard underneath the controller and the flat bottom did you find your palms accidentally pressing keys while gripping it? It does seem like you were doing pretty well testing the games with it so maybe it isn't as bad as I would expect. Versatility of this device is amazing, but it seems like it would be very hard to engineer it to be used for hours of gameplay as a PC and a controller.
Really want to hear your opinion on the ergonomics, playing for long periods of time etc etc. i also wish it didn't have such a high resolution screen drawing battery unnecesarily as most games will be played at 720p or 1080p, with the 6800u in no way being able to achieve AAA gaming at 1600p.

Why is there so much more RAM usage here compared to your i3 1215u video? Did you have more things running in the background for this?
Please show how it works with eGPU.
I want to see you use the controls while playing fightings games and fps.
Same!
Carpal tunnel said hold my beer.
"Hey guys, come check out my new handheld gaming device"
**picks up 50-inch plasma screen (with his hands)**
0:31 I can think of RJ45 though. 😢
Where'd you get the rain effect on your wallpaper though?
What a time to be alive
What are the thumbsticks like? do they have limited movement like the Switch or do they have full movement?
you should also add egpu segment to such videos, it would be interesting to see
The controls placement seem very similar to the Steamdeck, but with the full-sized keyboard underneath the controller and the flat bottom did you find your palms accidentally pressing keys while gripping it? It does seem like you were doing pretty well testing the games with it so maybe it isn't as bad as I would expect.
Versatility of this device is amazing, but it seems like it would be very hard to engineer it to be used for hours of gameplay as a PC and a controller.
What pen technology is it using? Wacom, Ntrig, USI, thanks 👍
I'm sold. I've been looking for a tiny pc to lug around everywhere with and if I can game on the thing too what a bonus. HOW DO WE BUY THIS THING??
Do you think the AMD version will get good battery life like the HP machine you tested previously? Also how does the keyboard feel to you?
This thing just packs everything so nicely!
Yeah I agree still amazed how these portable devices can play cyberpunk 2077 decently
Please test battery life in : browsing, office programs and gaming. And what platform energy save - intel or amd ?
I guess almost anything is technically a handheld. people wanna say the steam deck is big but this one takes the cake.
I want to know if the keyboard backlight is "always on" or is it on a crumby timer like my winmax1?
I too am excited for this. What I'm not excited for is what that price will be
With that extra m.2 slot, can we add an external GPU set up like in your previous video?
I'm curious with all these hand helds... Can you run OBS on them if so how does it perform? A mobile OBS streaming PC for irl streams with graphics. That's a game changer! Or even a mini pc with an ac power charger
Nice little Windows PC. I'd like to see the Ryzen version. What are your favorite games from Bluestacks? Do you play using version 4 or 5? Is the magnetic field used by the controllers a danger to anyone who has HDDs, an audio tape collection, or any mag stripe gift, debit, credit cards?
I didn't even notice those were covers until you pointed them out. I have the original WinMax, wanted to get the upgrade motherboard for it that made it an 1165/1195? Can't remember. But those MoBo ONLY are near impossible to find.
Better than steam deck
Me as an classic laptop gamer would undervolt and overclock the cpu, could squeeze some extra juice out of it while getting good temp levels.
Price? Or did I miss that in the video - it's not on their website.
The covers for the controllers are a great idea.
GPD has been so consistent with their awesome little devices. I am seriously considering getting this.
LOL little?
Just a question would the 6800u edition 16gbs would be enough for gaming and editing videos in Sony Vegas pro? Thank you 🙏
Can it run Pinball FX3 at 1080p 60fps? Also can you use the thunderbolt for another external monitor connection? I would consider getting it to connect up to an AGLP.
Does the screen scratch easily? Like micro scratches? If so, what’s the best screen protector?
This rather than the switch looks like a real competitor to the steam deck. Hope we see more models like this show up in the future.
I watched the Phawx's video and It looked like his performance was a fair bit worse then these games. I am mistaken? Good video I am feverishly consuming content over this device.
with this and the next gen ryzen 7000 APU, GPD might be my next buy, damn these looks great
7000 isnt even officially announced yet lol. also there are other options which are smaller and have more features. For example the loki max will peform kinda the same while being half the price. It has 6400mhz ram insted of 5200mhz in this one so it may give that igpu a bit more power.
@@shlokshah5379 smaller is not always better( but it's true that I'm looking for a computer that smaller than a laptop), this looks great to me because i need a computer, not just a gaming console, i need almost all those ports for my usecase, and also a good battery
I'm even looking at tablets but tablet's desktop mode isn't good enough yet
And this not only provides a strong and light device for me to work, it can connect to an external graphics card if i want more power
@@nguyentrananhnguyen7900 just get a laptop man there is nothing unique about this. It's just a small laptop with controllers. It dosen't even have gyroscope or any other features like that. Every device nowadays feel like they are the perfect device you need but usually there is always something better than it.
It's almost like you need a laptop lol. But i am not gonna interfere just buy what you want it's not my money lol.
@@shlokshah5379 well, i need a laptop that's small and powerful, Dell, HP, Apple have them but the one that's thin and light cost a lot more and their low-end models either not strong or not small, it's annoying that way
For a screen that size, I’d much prefer Witcher at 720p with the actual graphics settings bumped up to high and a 30 FPS lock for conserving energy. The fact that people just push a tiny 10 inch screen to over full HD is absurd.
holy shit, the magnetic cover is a godsend.
THIS LOOKS AMAZING 🤩
Since it has a keyboard, would love to see some old school DOS tests. Maybe Zork, Kings Quest I, and a WASD FPS to test ergonomics.
Which version would be better for emulation compatibility? The and or intel version?
Amazing Review I wish money wasn't so tight these days I've never been able afford something nice like this but system will haught my dreams it can literally do anything and everything a person could ever wish for. Maybe someday I'll be able to get something fancy like this system.
This looks almost as clunky as the portable arcade sticks from Alibaba sure I bet it’s very powerful and all but it’s just super unpractical 💫🏆
a laptop is more powerful for the same price. The size is also not that much smaller than a laptop. just get a controler and a laptop if anyone thinks this is practical.
@@shlokshah5379 asus x13 is so much more powerful and without the keyboard, not that much less portable. An xbox controller plus that is my go-to couch and bed gaming set up. That said, I'm still picking up a steamdeck when mine is up for shipping in q3. It's big but still portable enough to be used on the can. YMMV on if that's an important use case lol.
@@ethancarey3922 for me handhelds must never be more that 10 inch max. The loki/the air plus series look good but the screen is a bit small.
I want to know if the ryzen version will have thunderbolt 3? I know it wont have thunderbolt 4 but at least will it have TB3. I want to see it work with eGPU like the Mantiz MZ-03 Saturn Pro II. I currently have a mini ITX PC build using this eGPU with ASROCK X570 Phantom itx/tb3 mobo with 5600G cpu! It works really well, so I want to know if this eGPU will work with the ryzen version of this handheld! Thank you ETA!
@@benjiro8793 so usb4 supports eGPUs that require tb3 right? Just want to make sure.
oh damn it's a drawing tablet too with 4096 pressure very nice
Should I wait for this or just buy a ROG Flow Z13 if money is no object? It seems like the Z13 is only 1.1kg, has a bigger screen, and a faster processor. Would I be better with that and a controller for portable gaming?
This little machine can be very useful for creative people. Imagine someone to use this little machine for photoshop, or draw in illustrator with the touch screen. Another scenario could be to plug-in a Nvidia GPU to the thunderbolt 4 port and use it for video editing (dont forget that intel igpu is very good for premiere). It seems like a very good all around mini PC that can do many things.
People who use those apps want colour accuracy and large screens
When will we be able to buy the device ?
Its amazing😍
