I was in a position where I thought I knew what I was doing and was looking for a straight forward video to reenforce my belief. This video nailed it. Thank you!
Nice! I am re-doing my 02 passat 1.8T PCV system as we speak. MIsfiring, oil in plug wells, etc. Very Very dirty PCV system. Might get it running then convert to something like this. Nice video!
Looks good. Roughly the same thoughts. Running a 04' Passat wagon with the four motion 1.8T 5 speed here in Wisconsin. I call it "The Granny Sleeper" 🤣 Got an even bigger chuckle after I named it finding out the paint color on it is Midnight Blue thanks to the metallic in the paint which kinda looks like stars at night. Anywho, has potential just needs some TLC around the body of this solid motor.
Got a nice 1.8 like yours. I need to know how to route the line from that tee under the intake. The oem is still on it. I've done the pcv delete but it's now throwing a code for evap and that's my suspicion is it not routed right.
Was curious if you could help me understand more on where the in and out lines go? I’m looking to do the SAI delete and EGR delete. I have the plate to bolt back on and also have the new elbow for the PCV because heard they crack when removing parts. But I’m lost on what to keep and what not to keep. First timer with a 1.8T.
I have heard about the SAI delete and is in the possess of doing the oil catch can. What are you removing for the EGR delete and what is the purpose of doing the delete?
Looks solid. Do you remember what size hose you used to plumb everything up? Also did you just use a barb or something to couple the T off the crankcase to the line to the catch can? Thanks.
I know this is an older vid, but great work! Looking to delete the SAI and PCV on my B5.5 Passat, any pointers you would like to share? Fellow Indiana guy here, any input would be greatly appreciated!
Trying to remember as best as I can. I believe the PCV valve, in the lower rubber "T" hose is still in place, but ran that to the can instead of the intake tube. Then the other side of the can went to the air intake tube. So it still technically functioned like stock, but with the catch can in the middle to hopefully catch the oil vapor. SAI delete is just a bolt on plate on the back of an engine thats not too bad to do. You will get a check engine light if you dont get a tune to remove it.
Hello where did you hook up the line on the right going down near the left side by the a/c lines and the one to the right there two hard lines where do the connect too?
I was trying to figure out if the Passat 1.8t pcv can be vented to atmosphere with a catch can with a single inlet and two breathers. I don't think it would cause a vacuum leak, would it? It's crankcase. There is no port on the valve cover of an AEB 1.8t. Just the blocks vented.
@@ProModsPerformance did you delete the evap purge valve stuff? I'm trying to figure all that stuff out now. I've got the engine and ttans out for a rebuild on both
@@GreatLakesLogger No, that all is still here. I just extended the vacuum lines and wiring and mounted the solenoid up inside the inner passenger fender to clean up the aesthetics
plug the line from the intake wtf there no oil vapor getting in there unless the seals on ur turbo are going out ....... the two lines come off the catch can one goes to the valve cover and the other to the engine block under the intake manifold the way u have this setup it could back fill into ur intake and well fuck up a lot of shit and make a big mess
I think you're missing the plot a bit here. The line from the intake draws a vacuum through the catch can, to help evacuate vapors out of the crankcase; through the PCV valve and valve cover. AIR gets pulled through that line back into the intake, the oil gets caught in the can; the catch can. You COULD do without this, and just have the PCV "push" into the CAN, but it will be less efficient across the board, relying only on the positive crank case pressure to evacuate the oil uphill into the can

I first put mine there but later I was afraid if it leaks oil on the cat it would set the car on fire so I put it next to intake lol

Thanks I've noticed the throttle body the direction it's facing.. did u ever take it off.. just curious mine is facing down 👇
good video. no need to put a filter on the outgoing pipe from the catch can before it goes back to the intake ?
Thanks
Did you do an evap delete? I’ve been wanting to do that but I can’t find anything on how to do that. I wanna know more about your setup!
I want to say yes, but candidly can't remember. I think I did evap, SAI, etc delete and got a tune to eliminate any related check engine lights.

We're you bought the oil catch can?
I got a 04 passat wagon fwd 1.8t 5 speed
90k what delete should I do , less headaches lol
Hi. Mate you can tell me how i deleted vaccum line? Audi a4 b6 1.8t bfb cvt
moving catch can solve condesation? and where you have condensatio?
Bro great vid but the pancake valve you still re use it, ?
Yeah wondering the same
This setup did not use the pancake valve. It was a barbed fitting into the inlet tube where the pancake valve was

any tutorials on how you installed yours?
What engine...AVJ? I quess you don't have SAI any more?
It's an AMB. And correct, the SAI system is deleted
can you help me with the diagram to conect the lines and remove the pcv valve
Following
What kind of paint did you use on valve cover and intake?
Bought the car with the valve cover painted. it's held up well. intake manifold was powder coated
@@ProModsPerformance oh ok cool thanks man.. engine bay looks mint
What intake box did you use?!
I made it
What intake is that
It's just a stock manifold that's been powder coated. And the filter side is just a pod filter smacked straight onto the OEM maf with a bracket I made

have you had any issues with the location since the video?
Ended up selling the car a few years ago, but had no issues up to that point
