The Cinema Snob reviews Three to Tango.
As a gay man, let me say how accurate this film's portrayal of my life is. I'm constantly surrounded by women stripping down in front of me like nobody's business. In fact there's one in my room right now... I kind of wish she'd stop that, I've got a dinner party to get to.
Poirot's Mustache 😬that must be awkward
Boy,TELL me about it. I walk to the Tesco to buy profiteroles and mont blanc for the evening luncheon and I come back with vaginas stuck to me like lampreys. Now THAT'S a stain not even seltzer can clear.
Dammit, that means I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry was a well-researched film.
I knew it! Lol
Well you have a mustache so you can't be gay
I had to come straight here after I heard about Matthew. RIP Chandler.
The movie is named “Three to Tango” so naturally it opens with a swing dance sequence.
That bodes well.
At least the Windy City Cinematic Universe is more successful compared to the Dark Universe
AnonJl1 plus the WCCU is actually consistent cause fuck Saul
It's more bearable than the DC cinematic universe. At least they didn't make Suicide Squad
Nasa Peepo Ha! Not funny.
AnonJl1 Bah! The Neil Breen Cinematic Universe is the more better Cinematic Universe than the "fuck Saul" universe.
It’s got two more movies under its belt too.
Here i thought Brad put same thumb nail up by mistake
Believe it or not, I'm walkin' on air
I never thought I could feel so free
Flyin' away on a wing and a prayer
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me
original theme tune
Originally from "The Great American Hero".
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I'm not hoooooome.
Monsta 🎵 _So no one told you life was gonna be this way_ *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP* _Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA! It's like your always stuck in second gear, but when it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, bud, I'll be there for you (when the rain starts to fall), I'll be there for you (like I've been there before), I'll be there for you, cuz you're there for me, too_ 🎵
Believe it or not, George isn't at home...
Oliver Platt looks like an enlarged Peter Dinklage in this
Adam Blunt (Janice Voice) Oh. My. God! You're totally right!
THATS WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE!!
i was looking at him thinking who or what the hell does he look like??
I literally screamed "OH MY GOD" at the slowclap. Why, movie. Why.
Why?!?! Everyone knows and needs to acknowledge how hard it is to come out as straight-im sorry I can't even finish that statement with a STRAIGHT face.......😆😅🤣 so ill say with my gay face.......my beautiful happy INCREDIBLY GAY FACE!!!!!
I don't get the context.
I cannot believe Matthew Perry is no longer with us...
Okay, I'm genuinely confused here. I know this was the 90s but why does all of Chicago care that Matthew Perry is gay?
So that they have a reason for ignoring Sol dying in the hospital ?
I know people type "lol" all the time, but this legitimately made me laugh out loud.
Derek Johns because 90's
Because he’s America’s favorite friend
Because the 90s was a time where what I call "passive aggressive tolerance" was widely accepted. "Oh, you gay people with your turtlenecks and your fashion design and your dinner parties. We are fine with the way you are, but don't try to display it openly or you'll be hit on by sleazy men and ostracized by your friends. Better cover it up as pretending or you will be the butt of all these jokes!" 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Oh man when Matthew Perry claimed to make through the 80s dork-free, I too thought of Chandler's Flock of Seagulls hair.
But he died from drunk driving after Carol Seaver told him not to...........🤔
Wait🤦🏻♂️
Was that Matthew Perry? I couldn’t recognize him with his “I need to differentiate myself from my TV show so I’m gonna get a bad red hair dye job” hair.
Congratulations Cinema Snob! You got through this entire review without making One “Scream” Joke
ITS LIKE WILL AND GRACE AND FRIENDS HAVE HAD A BABY
I'm hoping the next one is Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion. I honestly wonder if that was the first nostalgia-for-the-80s movie...
That moment when the newspaper kills like 3 dudes is possibly the greatest cinematic moment I have ever seen
Man, with all these crappy movies made in Chicago (Endless Love, Blues Brothers 2000, Poltergeist 3, Kissing a Fool, Windy City, and this) it makes me wonder if the real reason the Decepticons decided to trash Chicago in the Transformers movies is because they watched these things.
ChrisTheLovableJerk hey The Second City has The Dark Knight and every other John Hughes film. It’s not all bad. I grew up in Norfolk, where best movie filmed there was NavySEALS.
Yeah, but in The Dark Knight it was Gotham, not Chicago so I'd argue that wouldn't count. Though there are great movies in Chicago like Blues Brothers, John Hughes stuff, etc...
this was made in toronto, the scene in the bar was filmed across the street from where i lived . my drunk friend was heckling them all night
Poltergeist 3 wasn’t that bad 😐
"This is already making me wanna swing... my neck from a tree!" This line made my evening. XD
These reviews are how I know it's Monday again each week.
The shadows didn't even bother to actually do the tango in the opening credits >:((((((((
SavageBubblegum Guess they blew out the budget on the dye for Matthew Perry's hair.
Nothing makes a Monday better than the Cinema Snob.
Darth Necrosis and nothing makes a Friday better than Phelous!
Ahh, I could watch late-90s Neve Campbell punch Dylan McDermott all day long. :)
One good thing about Friendsuary, the movies' production values are adequate.
The Main Character should've just said he was bisexual. It probably would've been made things easier and less consequences.
Phillip Or a woman.
Aye. In terms of TV, Willow, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was, technically, bisexual. But, identify as gay.
I get the feeling that 90s TV/movie (and certain mainstream opinions) thought that sexuality applies specifically to some long-term thing, hence the idea that bisexuals must be polyamorous because you can't be long-term committed to both men AND women without having one of each! Also you can have sexual flings with the same sex all you like but so long as you want a COMMITTED different-sex relationship, you must be straight!
At least that's how I figure the thinking must go, because otherwise basically all 90s commentary on anything gay doesn't make ANY sense to me
A character can never be bi in wacky gay shenanigans movies!
bisexuality was less accepted than homosexuality by society back then
Well, all I can say is, at least the characters in this movie were a little more tolerable then in last week's entry. In fact this movie, as cliched and generic as it is, is miles better then last week's entry. Also did anybody notice that David Ramsey, "John Diggle" from "Arrow" was in this movie? Pretty unusual start for such a high profile name. Great episode, can't to see what "Friends" star is on the Snob's chopping block next week.
What about John C. McGinley? He's also a high profile that somehow got onto this movie?
Also, Matthew Perry's business partner in the film, was the attorney in the West Wing series.
Yep, I am aware of John C. McGinley and even Oliver Platt in this movie. I was honestly more surprised with the fact that a young David Ramsey, before "Blue Bloods" and "Arrow", appeared in this movie, looked it up in IMDB. And I didn't even recognize him at first. LOL
I have a habit of listening to these reviews while I’m working and then watching them later. I couldn’t tell by the voice, but when I glanced down to see Neve Campbell....
Snob, you don’t know what you’re doing to me, as a child this was my first crush in life, no matter how much I want to hate this movie, my infatuation with her is too much. Forgive me, I know I have let you down. Three to tango 7/10.
It’s like this movie got it’s entire view on how gay men act from Jim Carrey’s Overly Confident Gay Man character on In Living Color.
Clearly you don't remember the '90s.
I wasn’t alive back then. What am I missing?
@@masonallen3961 every gay character acted like that Jim Carrey character, that's part of what the character was mocking.
But to be fair... Brad, this film made for the month of Friendsurary is the closest to a Black Panther tie-in episode.
I'm filling this comment in for Toby Fair, Snob. *[thumbs up]*
TVBForever outsourced No.
TVBForever hello Hayley.
Actual Lee here, his name is actually spelled: “Tobe Fair” like the director of Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s “Tobe Hooper”.
I’m Actual Lee and my contributions are never asked for, but I assume people appreciate pedantry on the internet.
You're neither Tobe Fair or Actual Lee, because what they say never has to do with either the movie Brad is reviewing or whatever he's saying when they interrupt. lol
But then again, Brad has replied me with #TobeFair simply for starting a phrase with "to be fair". xD
Kick his ass Seabass!
Holy shit, it's David Ramsey (Diggle) from Arrow as one of Matthew Perry's friends!
Ok, but why would you so desperately want to be with someone who's having an affair with a married man?
and resorts to violence when she's upset!
And that right there proves you're not mentally ill and stuck in a repetition compulsion where you are stuck being attracted to crazy bitches.
I am just going to tell myself this is a prequel to Arrow, showing why John left to go to the army.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
*chickens*
...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
No not the girl from the Scream movies!
I have a phobia of chickens
This movie is better than I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, at least.
I was genuinely hoping that "Whole Ten Yards" would be the Matthew Perry film. With Bruce Willis co-staring there'd be a lot more potential for "Friends" related jokes.
My cousin had food poisoning once. He said at the time he was pretty sure he was going to die, but yeah sure, I'm sure you could shake it off and continue on your date...
Snob, my cat is Lloyd's number one fan!
I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU !!!
Brandon Roberts I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU
MadelineTopper I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU
The box office suggests otherwise.
Neve campbell looks so hot in this movie
Neve Campbell is just straight up one of the prettiest people alive. I'll never understand why people aren't pointing this out all the time.
Picked this up on a 3 DVD's for £10 offer way back. It was definitely not the worst of the 3 and actually watching this review made me kind of want to go and revisit it.
Can this movie BE any better than Kissing a Fool? (Short answer: yes.)
I also love Chandler, and it's due to his comedic personality that I can relate to.
3:47- No, his name is clearly Chanandler Bong.
4:27- Don't you mean Dr. Cox from Scrubs and Phoebe's long lost father?
5:43- Yeah, I also tried the Clooney hair in the late 90s, and it was only because he played Batman, and I was young and stupid to know any better.
11:57- Uh-oh, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" flashback.
I was also thinking about the people at Chandler's office thinking he's gay in Friends: Season 1.
13:30- Like that time Ross went crazy when he found out that Joey & Rachel became an item.
14:05- Oh yeah, that time in college when Chandler sported the hairstyle I like to call "The Devil."
17:39- This is already my favorite sequence of the movie. It's like a comedic version of Order 66 from Revenge of the Sith.
23:26- Is it me, or have the Friends thoughts on Friendsuary gone downhill around here?
I saw this film at the cinema with my mum. Yep. Of course I haven’t watched it again since, but this does remind me of how harsh my childhood was at times...
I can kind of relate, no I didn't see it with my mom. But in 1997 I saw In and Out with my mom at the cinema and it's also a pg-13 comedy that uses gay panic as it's only form of humor. I never saw it again.
RIP Matthew Perry
I thought this was wrong thumbnail
Haha! Same.
It tripped me up, too 🤔
So this is just the last movie but marginally better and it swaps rampant misogyny for rampant homophobia and parts of it feel like they were directed by David Lynch. :P
Might be a little harsh. The last movie was outright hostile, this one is more condescending.
Yeah, you might have a point. It wasn't quite as hateful as Kissing a Fool.
It is sad to announce that Brad Jones' influence has died at 54 of a drowning on 10/28/23. RIP
Also, this movie is so cringeworthy, moreso because of it having a zany neo-swing soundtrack because this movie came out during the very short-lived swing revival of the late '90s. And what's surprising is the fact that the score is composed by Graeme Revell--a composer of action/thriller/horror movies such as "Child's Play 2", "Bride of Chucky", "The Crow", "Daredevil", "From Dusk Till Dawn", and the Riddick trilogy. What the hell is doing composing a bad romantic comedy?
Friendsuary is now my second favourite month of the year, right under Musical March (In September)
The Shadow People trying to kill each other would probably make for a better movie.
I went into this review bracing myself because I honestly do like this film, but I thought you were unbearably fair and honest in your review. Thanks for another great video!
The physical embodiment of Kevin Spacey's coming out tweet. LMFAO that is great!
You are the only thing keeping me from going insane
21:52 Ain't nothing more cringe-worthy than a crowd applauding in romantic comedies. The worst case being in Anger Management, with Rudy Giuliani leading an entire baseball stadium in a chant of "Kiss her, David!" directed at Adam Sandler.
I fucking hate Anger Management so much, thank you for reminding me of one of the reasons why that is.
The only thing worse is the Slow Clap. It's bad enough in teen flicks, but when an adult does it...
I hated Anger Management too, but that part with Jack Nicolson throwing the eggs at the wall was Hilarious.
Anything to help distract you from just how truly corrupt City Hall truly is!
I still say that next week will be Scream. Also, thanks for agreeing to come to Des Moines. I’m looking forward to meeting you.
RIP Mattew Perry
I have to say. Chandler is a good character. he needs to be in more films.
I have the same reaction when people think I'm straight
i love wen junhui no one cares about your sexual orientation.
Kevin Strom and I don't care about your opinion so I guess we're even
i love wen junhui oh poor you, sorry you're not a special little snowflake.
Kevin Strom sorry you're not worth my time
i love wen junhui lol clearly I am. I don't think you're especially busy or someone important. Get over yourself.
Gosh, two movies featuring Friends! - Chandler and Ross!
18:40 John Diggle, you have failed your IMDB page!
I’m so glad they’ve decided to expand the WCCU with this movie
Neve Campbell... **swoon**
Hearing Luke DeAyora's name in a video like this was a gigantic blast from the internet past. DJ LUKE LIVES
When I got notified of the video, I thought it was a reupload.
Even though it's a minor pre fame role, She's Out Of Control should be the next Perry for Friendsuary. Saw it on Starz synced up to some fan made riff on Rifftrax and it's baaaaaaaaad. I can see why Siskel almost quit in that infamous review where he praised Say Anything.
It’s rare that I have actually seen one of the movies The Snob reviews, but the moment that he announced Friends-uary, I knew this was coming. This was one of those movies that came on Saturday afternoon TV all the time in the early 00’s. Every time I watched it, my general thought was this was somewhat cringeworthy but mostly harmless. It did teach me that I use to really like Neve Campbell. That is still mostly my thoughts now.
the opening credits remind me of the opening credits from mullholland drive
Finally! A movie about the plot of the straight man!
Ugh. Excuse me while I go street vomit.
Great review, Brad! Keep up the awesome work!
one of Matthew Perry's gay panic friends is Endless Mike Hellstrom!
That wasn`t as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It's so funny looking back at movies like this from the 90s.
4:27 he's alive, I thought he was lost a sea working for Greenpiece.
I have never seen an episode of Friends, but these are still some great episodes.
@18:07 Assault'n' Bob needs to be a recurring character.
i was wondering if you'd do this one! i saw in 2001 and then forgot it completely.
Love your channel
Ok I admit it, I thought this was a reupload seeing it in my subscriptions
He didn't survive the 80s. He got killed in a drunk driving accident. Carol Seaver was devastated.
🤦🏻♂️ just made the same comment. Didn’t see this first.
I just realized that David Ramsey (Arrow) is in the movie.
It's bad when you're about halfway through the review before you realize *you've* *seen* *this* *movie* geez completely forgot this existed.
snob is literally too funny. jokes come out before 5 seconds and he has like two jokes per cutaway. cant even keep up
continued use of love triangles Illuminati confirmed
Almost Heroes is underrated.
Today I Learned how to pronounce Phelan's last name. Thank you, Brad.
She's the One....or Picture Perfect, I can't think of which movie I loathed more!
There for a moment I thought Farley's last film was Wagon's East but that was John Candy.
John Candy's last film was Canadian Bacon from Michael Moore.
I'm calling it right now: it's Marci X.
For some reason, I was expecting that movie he did with Salma Hayek.
But Fools Rush In is actually good. That would be like if he did Big Nothing for the David Schwimmer movie, or Analyze This for Lisa Kudrow.
Cinema Snob binge drinking game: take a shot of Everclear every time Brad says "meet cute".
Man, I loved Go On! Sure it was trying to be Community, but that was when Community was going down hill! It was funny, knew when to be serious, every character was interesting, and although it did follow sitcom tropes, it spun some of them in creative directions. Goddamn shame...
I saw this movie at least once maybe twice on TV I think it was one of those movies they kept repeating on USA or Comedy Central. It was the same with Fools Rush In the damn thing was on all the time on some basic cable channel.
Hey, one of the roomates is George Luz from Band of Brothers.
21:26 This would've been a good scene for the Lonely Lady line
This movie is pretty bad, but the Ward Meachum character is still better utilized in this film than Iron Fist.
What? Ward was the 2nd best thing in Iron Fist right behind Colleen!
Everything AROUND Iron Fist was better than the title character himself.
Yeah I feel like it could have at least been passable if Finn Jones wasn't so shit.
I hope Cinema Snob reviews that Cuba Gooding Jr. movie with Cuba on a gay cruise.
Yeah, Boat Trip. Has he reviewed it yet?
The 1990s: When homophobia was America's chief concern
It still is just jointly along when many, many other phobia's and ism's.
It kinda was. Being gay could get you fired.
3:23 Isn’t Kickassia, Suburban Knights & To Boldly Flee in the same universe as Windy City?
Three to Tango is the movie Ma and I liked !
I really hope next week's movie is Leprechaun.
I hope you'll do A Whole Nine Yards, that film was amazingly hilarious
I remember actually liking that one, and Almost Hereos. Granted I was quite young and haven't seen them in a long time.
How long is Friendsuary? I'm excited, and I hope it isn't cut short
This movie came out during the three weeks in the late-90s when swing came back, huh?
13:19 Y'know, Chandler, that could've worked if you were drunk. Just ask Ross, he'll tell you.
RIP Mathew Chandler
