Established Titles is a scam that's illegal in Scotland. This is because titles of laird, lord, or lady aren't given based on land ownership, and souvenir land is illegal. Scott Shafer released a pretty good video explaining this.
You know, I was of the thinking "it's not really a scam it's just a gag gift, it's not meant to be taken seriously" but after taking a look at the video you mentioned I can see why it's kinda more sketchy than that. Personally, if we see some proof they're actually planting trees in a ecologically responsible manner, I'm not *that* pressed about it - let people spend their money to jokingly call themselves lord or lady if they want to, even if it's a get rich quick scheme by some marketing folks in Hong Kong. But if they're lying about that, then yes it should absolutely be denounced as a full on scam.
@@comicmoniker At least One tree planted has them listed as an official sponsor with over 2 million trees planted
well, it looks like they have the money to sponsor and pay wolfey. But if it is a scam, his team should be aware and should not use them as sponsors in the future.
Actually in Scotland you can become a lord or lady from buying land
But it's only if you bought it from another lord or lady
It feels like most RUclipsrs these days are shilling scam sponsors anyway so why should our comments matter anyway. Lol
You can also recharge by interacting with dens in the over world. Even if you don’t do it.
Can you use the same den multiple times to recharge?
No, once per den only.
Oh wow thank you!!!
Wow an actual useful yt comment 🤣
Can I join someone’s world so I can evolve a Pkmn real quick
Okay, hear me out for Ghost Tera Garganacl. It's signature ability, Purifying Salt already means you take 50% damage from Ghost moves so being a Ghost type doesn't really hinder you too badly on that front. You gain an immunity to one of Rock's biggest threats, Fighting. It has no overlapping weaknesses with the original type so your monstrous defenses can soak up hits even better while the opponent slowly dies to Salt Cure.
Damn that's actually broken
Don't forget that it learns Curse, which means more passive damage along with Salt Cure
I just caught one today as a GHOST Tera type. What you said makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out.
Garganacl also has access to curse, which can make for a devastating one-two combo with Ghost tera type.
@@ehhh7071 You can just swap out on curse
World Champ difference, baby.

Unlimited skill
It's definitely a more interesting mechanic with a much higher potential to shock everyone when used advantageously. I can't wait to try out different combos with this mechanic
I think it's going to be really interesting to see how optimal Terra Types change over time as the meta changes
It also depends on the mons you focus on for terrastalize
I was hoping Rhyperior would be in the game. 1 Type (no more 4x damage) and his ability that halves damage from supereffective attacks... He'd be a beast
@@MyWillBeDone give him steel or something. That way he takes less damage from steel's few weaknesses and has loads of resistances.
@@JudojugsVtuber hes not in the game
@@Rikhard9 yes..... I know....
Not sure Gyarados tera ground will be THIS common tbh. It's such a good option that most people will NOT use an electric attack to Gyarados. If they don't and Gyarados is almost de-facto immune to it in is base form, I can see a Tera Water typing with moxie really going home if it gets a chance to set up even a single dragon dance.
It'll all be about metagaming. If a Pokémon becomes too dominant, teams will be built to counter that Pokémon and that Pokémon will end up becoming bad against the current metagame that's built to counter it, and it"ll stop being popular.
Basically a meta mindgame at that point. :P
Rock Paper Scissors on steroids
I'd go for a Tera Flying Gyarados just so it could finally have a good physical Flying move.
If you’re running an electric type like raichu or even bellibolt, you could even go surf or muddy water in anticipation. Although if they don’t terastilize, you’ll hit for half damage, so it really depends on how well you read it.
I notice you're implementing a little bit of the "behind the scenes" style Wolfe commentary into the more professional formula, and I have to say, it works REALLY well to have a bit of a mix, even when it's just a couple side tangents or goofs. I'm all for it!
Same, I love having more blooper moments. I wouldn't want the style of vids to go full "goofball with a camera", but there's definitely room for off-the-cuff bits.
Going to finally start playing Violet today. HYPE!
Good luck!
avoid spoilers lol
Yay! I've got Violet, enjoyed it very much so far.
Its guy who simps for languages
Nice, i am waiting till i have more free time to play. Good luck!
something i found out when testing tera in doubles that might be interesting to VGC players:
tera dark gives you the prankster immunity that dark types have, which is insanely good on offensive pokemon even if you don’t use dark moves. you can make a grimmsnarl waste their turn thunderwaving or scary facing you, its super good. especially on a pokemon that massively benefits from dark defensively (like annihilape)
Came here to comment this, thanks for getting here first so I didn't have to type for that long
Turning yourself into a rock type should probably mean you also get the defensive boost in sandstorm.
One Tera-type combo I've found myself liking is Dondozo with a Steel Tera type. It can cover its ground and fire weaknesses with water STAB, Dondozo is a great special wall meaning that the fighting weakness threatens it a lot less than an electric or grass weakness, and it makes Dondozo immune to defog, which is incredibly important when you've locked yourself in with a Commander Tatsugiri.
Physical wall?
I think you mean immune to Clear Smog, not Defog
Extra info not mentioned here. You can also recharge your Tera orb by just checking a Tera raid den you haven't gotten lp from yet. Each one can recharge your orb once a day. Handy if you don't want to return to the pokemon center just yet
Couple notes for Tera Raids:
Just like SwSh raids, these have a higher chance of netting you hidden abilities, got a Rough Skin Gabite out of a 4* raid just today
Also participating in a raid "refreshes" your tera orb, meaning even if you tera'd before going into the raid, without visiting a pokemon center, you can still tera in the raid AND in the overworld after the raid is done (in case you *need* to refresh your tera for some reason lmao)
Edit: Oh someone also said the latter woopsie
Imagine having a Skeledirge on the field with a ghost type opponent. They attack with a ghost move hoping to take you out....Or try to considering how TANKY Skeledirge is. However, you not only setup Trick Room, but Terastalize into a Fire type, negating your ghost and dark weaknesses, AND gaining even more fire type STAB power.
Now, all you need are a couple of Torch Song setups, and you can death roll the other team easily, considering how much coverage this Dia De Los Muertos inspired singer has. You won't even need to worry about the opponent sweeping you, since you'll have Unaware on it. That ability ignores the opponents stat changes, good and bad. It's all a clean slate for this reptile.
I can't wait to have so much fun messing around with Skeledirge online.
shame trick room is so strong it demands answers to both Room & Torkoal on none TR teams while TR teams are very present underspeeding Dirge too , at least in the initial gameplay for SV
I like running quaquaval and setting up at least two aqua step speed boosts into a baton pass switch into skeledirge. Then have it hold a throat spray which increases sp.atk. By a stage as well as torch song doing the same. Now you have a double speed double sp.atk skeldirge. Also I usually start a battle with toxtricity and set up at least one layer of toxic spikes which skeledirge can then make use of by having hex. I swept the champion with just this combo and I was maybe 5-7ish levels under her.
@@emannuelsepulveda7259 that's good. I just used cyclizar with sunny day, holding heat rock, shed tail into skeledirge and then torch song to victory.

Can't wait to see how this plays out in competitive play!
The best thing I've seen on Pokemon Showdown (but you can't do it in-game) is a Shedinja with Air Balloon and Electric Tera Type. He even had Sunny Day to counter people setting up weather.
@@firedell1031 I remember watching a video earlier about this on RUclips. It made some legendary spammer on Smogon become salty.
I don’t think Shedninja will be in Scarlet and Violet at any point for this reason. It’s already not so people playing nat dex with all the old mons is wrong

Based on what I’ve heard so far, getting specific Tera types is a real hassle. Thanks for making this video, Wolfe!
thank god for pokemon showdown
Yeah its hell
Getting a specific pokemon of a specific type is either a long ass grind for 50 shards of the type you want, or hella rare to find from raids
Worse than hidden power?
@@apertureemployee215 '.' doesn't help active VGC players
@@Marcusjnmc showdown has definitely helped vgc players tho? Pro players test teams before actually making them, and switching EV’s or tera types on the fly is pretty convenient
Terastallization is really interesting for moves that remove the user's typing like Burn Up or Double Shock. Since the user still remains a type of its Tera Type after using such moves, they can be repeatedly spammed whereas you'd have to switch out to use them again without Terastallization. It's such a fun and interesting mechanic, and very excited to see how it plays out in competitive :3
Burn Up on Tera Fire seems very nice ^.^
@@Marcusjnmc Unfortunately they removed Burn Up from every learnset in the game.. seems like gamefreak must have realized how good that'd be
@@Zarha_ And then they add in equivalents for other types, like said double shock. :P
You only get two uses of double shock with electric tera type included. Anymore afterwards won’t work. You have two switch out.
@@sleepy9102 I spammed it 6 times in a row without switching out after terastallization, so I dunno what you mean :P
Damn I remember when a couple years ago I started watching Wolfey when he had 28k subs. The growth has been absolutely huge and I’m glad to see it
The rapid-fire Wolfey videos are almost more exciting than playing the games for the first time
Wolfey im sorry to say but your sponsor timing couldnt possibly be worse, someone made a 15 minute video last night about established titles being a scam
Wolfey, you’re content has improved so much and it’s always a laugh watching your videos. Keep smashing it 🎉
love the editing, great work. also thanks for all the info included :)
Enjoying the new format of this channel! The higher quality definitely feels nice, but the more recent videos have been adding the world champ difference into them, which is a great balance. Keep it up wolfey!
Fighting Tera Staraptor for those juicy close combats
and never realized how good Tera Blast is for the Eeveelutions and their VERY limited movepools
Who knows, maybe flareon might be a little viable, with even terra fire or another type
I'm not into comp, but this is very informative. Thank you Wolfey.
Thank you SO much for this! This is an incredibly useful video, and I haven't seen anyone else cover this subject.
I would like to really thank you for the quality of your vidéos
You are the only pokémon youtuber that put visual effects on the video and i love it
Also you would make a very good teacher, you explain everything very easily and gives a lot of example, i can really feel that everything is well prepared and thus you can go strait to the point whitout omiting important points
World champ diff
I wonder if Terablast could also breath some new life into some normal types which might get overlooked normally. Since you still get the Normal STAB when not Tera'd it won't be a "dead" move, and you likely don't really need it if you are Tera'd. One I'm personally really excited about is Swasbuck. Already a reasonable Chlorophyll sweeper, and being able to go TeraFire in the Sun would be awesome (plus it was in like the first fire-type raid I checked so i really want to use it)
Keep the content coming Wolf :3
Glad I subbed! Really loving your content
been waiting for you to make this video thanks wolfy!
I feel that at least until pokemon home comes out, my boy umbreon is gonna be pretty good in both singles and doubles, finally I can use my favorite Pokémon well in competitive (for now)
^.^ Umbreon will always have it's cool niche in VGC 2019 format
I can't wait to see him do a competitive analysis of the new Pokémon
I really love this mechanic - so glad and thankful you're covering it so in depth! thank you :)
loving the frequency of vids recently. keep up the grind wolfey!
Honestly this is a LOT more interesting and less of an "i win" button than dynamax. It's like a giant question mark from team preview and adds a lot more skill to competitive. I dig it.
I'm not sure how adding a huge unknown variable you can't realistically account for adds to the game in any positive way. Tera type should at least be visible in team selection so you can actually play around it.
@@SaltyMaud Hell no, that defeats the whole point. Unpredictability really determines player skill in general, this just further adds to that.
@@MayHugger Fissure must be the most skillful move then.
@@SaltyMaud Unreliable accuracy is not the same as being unpredictable. If you keep being predictable in a match, you’re pretty much guaranteed to lose. It’s not even remotely the same as accuracy.
@@MayHugger 🤡
It's also important to note that you can't force a type change on a Pokemon that has be Terastalized with moves like Soak. Seems obvious but is good to note.
I've long been lurking on your vids, but this is the guide that won my subscription. I was so lost on the fine detail about the new mechanic, so this helped a lot. Looking forward to the best Tera types for each Pokemon guide as this is exactly the next question I had. :)
Great video! One of my favorite "New Wolfey" videos in terms of pacing and overall information / enjoyment.
I kinda had an idea for Cetitan having a Grass Tera Type. If it has Thick Fat, it'll make Fire and Ice moves regular damage. But it'll also only be weak to Poison, Flying, and Bug types, which Cetitan could have attacks to help take them out.
The editing is tier S++++++++++++, the amount of small details is amazing
Love your content Wolfie! Hope those well deserved subs roll in
You're videos have definitely improved a lot. Glad to see your growing as a creator. Love the content
Orthworm has an amazing combo with terastalization with it's ability earth eater meaning it basically has immunity to ground moves and they heal him, paired with an electric tera type and it has no weaknesses and is pretty nuts with a mon that knows earthquake
Cant wait to see you play competitive
Oh I desperately needed to know this stuff, thanks for the quick vid so early in game
I stumbled across a Tera Poison Smoliv den early in my playthrough and decided to use it as my Grass type. Being able to negate Fighting, Poison, and Bug weaknesses while making Fire and Ice neutral was extremely helpful. Gethsemane, my Arboliva, ended up being one of my MVPs with Energy Ball, Swift, and Poison Terablast. Didn't think I'd like this gimmick at first but it's growing on me
Hey Wolfe there was a video released recently exposing establishedtitles as a scam, I think you should look into it for yourself
i think terastalization would be way more hype if you could choose a type on the spot, feels like it will devolve into just keeping your type for extra stab or just using terra steel for the resistances
Although it seems fun it would completely ruin competitive sadly
That would be completely overpowered .
You can always pull tera electric out of your ass to check toxapex and corviknight and pelipper. (Terra blast electric tinkaton my beloved)
Some Tera types are super useful - like Orthworm with Electric (no weaknesses with Earth Eater) or Garganacl with Ghost (only weakness is Dark with Purifying Salt)
Great video! I was waiting for somebofy to drop something like this and you talked about everything I wanted to know! Happy holidays!
I like how in Singles, Talonflame is mainly a supporting defensive mon😂
Can i say that i am truly afraid of the potential power of terastallization
You showed up on Tik tok for me a while ago and I’ve been loving watching your longer videos ever since
I love all the insight given in this video. As a collector/casual player, every single thing mentioned regarding the Pokemon competitive meta felt like a whole new world of possibilities opening up. I don't feel like I'll personally get too much mileage from the info in this video, but it was fun looking into the mindset of a top competitive player.
I came to really like Terastallization in my playthrough, having my mons have different sets of strengths and weaknesses, along with changes to STAB made the battles feel so much more strategic and fun for me :)
Imagine how good the move soak would be
Edit I forgot about trick or treat
We live in a timeline where Soak could be viable
so, soak does still affect tera pokemon? i hope so, i love running soak strats cus are so funny to see opponents lose their stab and get walled
Great wideo, funny wideo, pokemon man! (Love the new style + Bonuswolfe), best of both worlds! Keep it up! :D
Loving the latest content. Visuals are on point
I got an Ice Dragonite from a 5-star raid and it had Multiscale. Been loving that thing in battles. Especially since it gets Ice Spinner. I'm running mine with Ice Spinner, Dragon Claw, Iron Head, and Dragon Dance.
I'm also wanting to get another one that's Steel, then having Earthquake instead of Ice Spinner on that one.
Talking about value, Wolfe could benefit a lot from having an outro sequence where he suggests more of his previous videos. That way any new watcher can binge on that sweet pokemon world champ knowledge 😉
I'm looking forward to your video on the best tera types for each Pokemon! The example with Appletun was really well argued.
Wolfey you have been blessing us with these vids lately
What would happen if a Pokémon with adaptability, already doubling their stab, terastalizes into their own type, doubling it again. Does it become x4? Or does it stay x2?
I’d guess x2.5
Hey Wolf, just wanted to let you know a youtuber (Scott Shafer) did a deep dive on Established Titles being a scam. Just an FYI for future use
He’s used them as a sponsor multiple times before so I’m sure he either doesn’t care or he hasn’t known about it. Hopes it’s the second one.
@@ron5348 i don't want to assume malice since large youtubers recently found out as well and cut ties.
Usually the simplest answer is the correct one, malice takes a lot to prove based on facts none of us could ever know without Wolf verbally saying it

Wolfey, If you ever read this. Know that I, havnt played any pokemon game since Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Silver. The OG ones ( and red. ) I still watch your videos, and enjoy your content. I have no idea why I watch it, since I dont play pokemon. But I just enjoy who you are and how you present it. Keep it up big man.
I appreciate the video :) It helped me feel more confident in terastilization. It is, without a doubt, the most complex change to gameplay in any Pokemon game for the past few years, so I was feeling like there might be stuff I didn't understand properly.
excellent and informative , thanks , needed a video just like this
These videos are so helpful. I am going to be starting my first year of competitive play and these tips really help
Thanks for the advice!
Wonderful starter guide, thank you!
This is how I assemble move sets for my Pokémon, Master Wolfey:
1 STAB move per type my Pokémon has,
counter-coverage moves for each of my Pokémon’s weaknesses (as many types that are super effective against my Pokémon as possible, and lastly any move that can be used as coverage for any other type (sometimes against Pokémon types that resist my Pokémon’s moves).
There are 3 requirements for moves for my Pokémon:
1. Has to have good base power.
2. Be 100% accurate.
3. Have a positive secondary effect.
List of secondary effects that are negative:
Recoil, recharge, stat lowering, etc.
Thank you for this explanation! I'd been wondering if Tera Pokemon keep their original type STAB, and the competitive examples were super helpful
Happy thanks giving wolf
Definitely helped out here 🙏🏼
12:53 I honestly don’t expect this. I think you will give tips and leave. Thank you so much
Worth mentioning that the class quests can give some tera shards; I got 50 rock and 50 dragon so far from two teachers late in the class "questline". (I took all the classes and started traveling around the school doing every teacher dialogue) It feels like there might not be any more, which is too bad, I got my hopes up that they might give 50 of each, but who knows, I'm not done yet after all.
Something I love to do is use a grass tera ceruledge: tera blast on a ground/water/rock type opponent is almost always an ohko, plus its great with moves like bitter blade and shadow sneak as more stab coverage, for hp recovery and priority, add this on top of flash fire, so you cant get hit by fire types, and you got a good sweeper that has a low chance of getting a bad matchup
You can get 50 Tera Shards for both Dragon and Rock Tera Types by doing all the Art and Math classes respectively at your academy. After doing a few classes you can meet your teacher somewhere around the school to do a task or usually answer a question and they'll bond with you. You unlock new classes, and by extention more teacher time, by gaining more gym badges, so I would recommend obtaining all 8 gym badges before doing your classes to streamline things. After you do your Finals for the class, go to the respective teacher on the Academy map and talk to them to get your Tera Shards.
Great video! Thank you for the world champ difference, Wolf!
Quality videos as always. Happy Thanksgiving! I'm learning a lot while playing and enjoying food 😆
Im still subscribed. By the way, I love that this gives help on gameplay without spoiling anything in the game (although…it doesn’t really tell us when those certain features unlock like when we can turn in the terra crystals. Im going to say it’s when we have access to a certain town but maybe there is some progression line we need to do before then? It be great if I knew which that is before I jump into the game. Just a thought.) Im going to be getting the game for Christmas and I’m sure allot of other people will be getting it then too.
amazing vid, as always
BTW, are you planning on talking about the starters in any way shape or form?
Thanks for the tips
Thanks Wolfey!
That Torkoal joke was World Champ level lol def the content I subbed for
Exactly the video I needed!!
The Tera shard collecting thing was really annoying for me because at the time I was trying to reorganize my team. Luckily I was so happy when I completed the Teal Mask Pokedex and got the Tera charm, which increases the amount of Tera shards you get per Tera raid! I love this thing and it has made me now own an abundance of Tera shards of all the types!
My predictions for a few mons' best teratypes:
~ Toxtricity
Normal (Give Punk Rock Boomburst STAB)
~ Ceruledge
Fighting (SR resistance, Ghost & Fighting coverage, it learns Close Combat anyway)
~ Avalugg
Steel (Immune to Toxic, better defensive typing, STAB on Gyro Ball) or Fighting (Still resisting Rocks, but now you're using the bulk to get STAB Body Press)
~ Baxcalibur
Steel (Dragon Steel is an amazing defensive typing, now you're also getting STAB Iron Head for Fairy types)
~ Breloom
Rock (Resists Flying is cool, but the big value is STAB Technician Rock Tomb)
~ Chien-Pao
Fighting (Remove the weakness to common priority moves, get STAB Sacred Sword)
~ Beartic
Ground or Fighting (Purely for offensive coverage with CC and EQ, as well as the resistance to Rocks)
~ Bombirdier
Rock (Stack with Rocky Payload for nutty Stone Edges)
~ Dhelmise (when it's released)
Steel (Nutty damage with Metalworker, plus better defensive typing)
~ Orthworm
Electric (No weakness with Earth Eater) or Fighting (using Coil as a setup move to go into Body Press + Iron Tail as main ways to attack), depending on the set
Very high quality content as usual. No fluff without being boring, the b reel is top tier.
Really great video, looking forward to the best Tera type for all Pokémon
This video seemed to feature more of that old school spontaneous Wolfey charm. And I, for one, am here for it.
