I’m impressed you got sounds for these things. And the chomarabrachide look amazing I expected Malacoformes to develop eusoiality due to their similarity to arthropods
@@julzbehr6696 Wow, great job, that's very impressive. I wouldn't have guessed that any of those sounds came from a human, actually. What software did you use to make that audio clip?
I suspect there are eusocial malacoformes; as he says at the end this is just some examples of cooperative behavior. I do hope we get an episode going into what the Malacofromes have been up to, we haven't heard much since the episode that talked about parasitism.
They probably have, he's mostly ignoring malacoformes because there would be way too much variety and too much pulling from irl examples. Similar reason to why these episodes aren't 90% rainforests and 10% everything else.
@@williamminsinger7130 He stated that he didn't do eusociality because the trypanos were already in the perfect conditions to evolve eusociality, and didnt want to contrive a situation in which malacoforms become eusocial

the Phylactocanthid mutualistic relationship offers an opportunity for Batesian mimicry to delelop within Pharesis clades, with them evolving aposematic coloring in a blue spotted pattern would trick predators into believing they too where covered in venomous spines, if not up close from far away at least at a distance

@@henry_alphonse Sorry, was watching the video. It is about sci-fi, yeah. As for details, the server is pretty expansive, actually. While figuring out space warfare is a prevalent topic, there exists quite a bit of stuff regarding basically anything concerning the future, from planetary colonies to transhumanism. It also includes many channels dedicated to the worldbuilding projects of individual server members. And a decently vibrant art community, as well as a lot of resources and a good few people with scientific backgrounds.

Finally a new episode. I love this series. Biblatidion I wanted to ask you for some advice. I am in the process of making my pilot episode and I was wondering how do I make my script for the video more interesting? Keep up the amazing work. God bless you, my friend.
Perhaps you should check the AB wiki for his scripts, to see what he has included, and more importantly, what he has not included. Also, perhaps you might want to develop a unique tone, to differentiate yourself from the other speculative biology projects. Most of those tend to be a bit dry and technical, which fits the subject matter, but I find that Bibs' style is more approachable than most, which may add to his appeal and success. At the end of the day, make it your own, and have fun with it. Good luck, and I'll be on the lookout for what you put out.

Bib has announced the editing and art stage of the next episode. Im not big on the discord but thought people should know and a huge thank you to those who have been patient 😊
So far the attention to detail and detailed yet focused narration has been this series strongest points. But the moment at 12:24 when the "alien" sound played feels like a new high point.
Poor Bibs, I feel so bad for him. He works so hard to make these videos. It is truly some of the best content on the platform, and I for one appreciate the hell out of it.
@@MrHomelessHobos Bibs has expressed on multiple occasions the difficulty in making this series. He does a LOT of research, and stresses out when writing the script and making the models. And all of that is before coordinating with the artists on the Discord server, recording the script, and editing. It takes a lot out of him, and he holds himself up to an extreme standard. He has admitted that this is unsustainable, and I was merely expressing my sympathy.
This is definitely my favorite series on RUclips. Absolutely love the designs and concepts for this episode, as well as for building on the whole sequential hermaphroditism-concept. This series is so inspiring. Cannot wait for the next one!
I kinda want a game of this world. Little to no story, just you having landed to observe these creatures like some spacefaring biologist on a mission of exploration. If you want some sort of points system, just throw in a pokedex and have the player collect each organism and study their behaviours.
The next episode is probably going to have a decent amount of death in it. you now have apex predators transferring between continents with different ways of hunting. For example the land bridge between North America and South America. Terror cause havoc in the north and saber toothed cats wiped out their competition in the south. Not to mention you just ended an Ice age and large grassers will have trouble with the encroaching forests much like mammoths. So who wants to take a guess on which animals will survive and which will die out?
I recently researched information on the Great American Biotic Interchange (this will probably come in handy for the next episode). Here is what I learned. 1.)Large Carnivores from high predator density areas did better than ones from the low predator density due probably to less competition. 2.) Herbivores that don't adapt faired poorly in the exchange. 3.) Diversity in a new environment is a good sign of creatures flourishing(example ground sloths). 4.) Creatures traveling to similar habitats will do well(example horses). However from the latest episode of Alien Biospheres a coming ice age is not going to affect how well animals flourish in new environments due to the fact that they are just getting out of an Ice age. This might make many of the plains living animals to migrate away for the expanding woodland habitats to warmer areas. Cold dwelling large herbivores that feast on trees might well with the growing forests.
I accidentally came across this and oh my what an astounding project! I had no idea there were such extensive works out there. Amazingly fleshed out and presented in many different mediums complimenting each other. You can tell what an incredible amount of passionate work has been put into it. God I love this series, I've been following this series for 3 years now. It's so interesting and always fun to watch, even if like 60% of the stuff discussed just flies right over my head. I can't wait for the next episode, and the one after that, and the eventual episode where one (or more!) of the species develops sentience, and begin to develop less nomadic life styles, and more settled, and even begin domestication of both flora and fauna. Here's to the next 3 years of development of this hypothetical planet!
Dude the Pipiodonts are gonna be the intelligent ones i swear lol They already have close bonds with eachother, they're like tiny flying crickets with friendship goals Also, I love how we're slowly getting creatures with more and more complex colors, patterns and such. We started with the most basic color schemes. Now I think we're at the point where these are all considered "dinosaurs", maybe. Like, really early dinosaurs.

Burpopo and Lace's animations are incredible. Yet again you've succeeded at everything with these animals, except at making them cute, or at least any less terrifying, which may be realistic, but I still have hope I'll find one of these pleasant to look at.
@the great lumberjack King Only because they are so very, very different to the mammalian body-plan. If you let go of the superficial resemblance to some Earth-invertebrates, then they just become disturbingly-alien. 😉😉
@@John_Weiss your right. I think its because we are so used to vertebrate mammalian body plans that when we see Somthing that isnt that were creeped out. If someone some how lived there entire life among these animals they would. See them as normal. But see earth animals as weird and creepy idk. Thats for the advice
@@Lumberjack_king Eh, I don't care so much about, "being right." 😉 I wanted to offer some food for thought. Especially since we've been so trained by Hollywood Scifi to think "alien" means "prosthetic foreheads." 😁
I came into this video five days late and after months of waiting I didn't expect to come out of the other end of it with the knowledge that Biblaridion just explained what the concept of a harem was to me. What a wonderful world.
The creatures are starting to look very different from each other and I hope this continues until we get some that you would never think evolved from the same things.
My favorite illustration out of all the other fantastic works here is the one at 25:26. It's just... So dang expressive, I love it. "Dave, calm your face, the poor kid's like five years old" *"I'LL DO WHAT I WANT, S H A N N O N"*
Dude, these drawings and animations do make the whole thing much more vivid. I'm surprised on how far this series has come, and very grad for it. Also, what software is used to produce the "voices" of these animals?
I made some of the sounds at like 27:50 by editing the voice of my cough, because I was sick when he sent the prompt and he described it as being like forceful exhales or coughs
Also I know I’ve said this before but are you ever planning to talk about life in freshwater exclusively? Since freshwater is a surprisingly challenging environment especially in dryer climates.
He mentioned in Episode 7 that he’ll talk more on freshwater ecosystems in a future episode. At this point it may be combined with another episode, but who knows it could be its own seperate episode. All I want is aquatic desmostracan.
i love this so much! The Hype I felt when you said that eusociality is not the peak of cooperative behavior was like seeing the main-character of a story unlocking a new final form in the last battle of the season!
i love the sounds that he added, really helps show what they sound like, really hope that someone has the skill to make some sort of open-world Pokémon snap like game out of this series
If they have two branching respiratory ways, why won't they have also two separate sets of vocal organs to create more intresting sounds? =) Also, what about a symbiosis between eusocial critters and a carnivorous plant in a desert landscape? That plant collects nutrients from the soil and sunlight, but also feeds on small creatures with special traps. And one caste of an insectoid specie is designed for deactivating these traps in the cost of its life, giving more resources to the plant and allowing the rest of the squad to fearlessly collect some of its edible parts.
holy moly, I really wasn't expecting any prior episodes to be topped so hard, yet here we are. part 12 is BY FAR the best I've watched thus far. the quality of animation, subject matter, inclusion of vocalizations, and the sheer amount of information and knowledge I absorbed is just blowing my mind. seriously, just look at this 16:30! this series deserves an Emmy
I hope the super continent reforming is not the last episode of the series. I would love to see you take your species to evolve self-awareness and into a stone age and agricultural age.
He’s said in the past a few things he was going to go in depth about in future episodes (freshwater ecologies, mass extinction events, etc). Also I’m going to take an educated guess and say that the next episode will focus mainly on the western and eastern continent interchange whilst leaving the ecology of the recently separated subcontinent for the next episode. If he does a mass extinction episode he’ll also need to do one about the adaptive radiation that occurs shortly afterwards (though judging from the increased length of each episode, by that point he may combine those two together. Yet it might be unfeasible to have an episode going into detail about the environmental changes during the mass extinction and the clades that will die off and another about all those vacant clades being refilled combined into one mega two hour long episode). So don’t worry you still have at least 3-4 more episodes to come.
Thanks a whole heck of a lot man. You released an episode on my birthday, focusing on the aspect of evolution I've been looking forwards to the most. Absolutely amazing gift from you and the universe

If they have two branching respiratory ways, why won't they have also two separate sets of vocal organs to create more intresting sounds? =)
Also, what about a symbiosis between eusocial critters and a carnivorous plant in a desert landscape? That plant collects nutrients from the soil and sunlight, but also feeds on small creatures with special traps. And one caste of an insectoid specie is designed for deactivating these traps in the cost of its life, giving more resources to the plant and allowing the rest of the squad to fearlessly collect some of its edible parts.

I hope the super continent reforming is not the last episode of the series. I would love to see you take your species to evolve self-awareness and into a stone age and agricultural age.
It would be interesting to see if Tira's sapients develop arrows and use the arrow as a symbol to signify direction as is common with us.
