This is the BEST beginning tutorial of ventriloquism on RUclips I've seen (and heard)! Although your refinements and speed are STAGGERING, you are very generous in illustrating the basic technique to beginners. Thanks so much for your candor and support! You are lovely!
My gosh, I didn’t think you would actually see this, seeping as it was a while Ago, but yeah, thank you for the help, I’ve been trying to do ventriloquism lately and this really helped me
Thank you so much for making this video it is awesome I am going to use use your instructions to become one with my puppets and hopefully be a tiny bit as good as you are I'm going to practice and learn syllables. Thank you again 🙉🙈🙊
Thanks for this tutorial I have been studying ventriloquism about a year now but you gave me some good food for thought and taught some things I did not know.
CHRISTINE please please please tell me where you got your skunk puppet, I'm in love and I really want my own so I can start 💗😀🦄 Love you Christine your amazing ❤️🦄
I've got a couple of puppets from Steve at axtell impressions I have the platypus and the toucan and I'm just waiting for Jeff dunham's peanut and walter to arrive p although water will be changed to Arthur I'm not sure what to call peanut yet but he will also have a name change he will be peanuts cousin but not sure what his name yet I'm in the UK and I love your work I'm going to get a skunk because I love it
6:40 Wow! That voice could work beautifully for my puppet! Her name is Oceania Lea Clark but I call her Oceania! She’s a 3 year old little blue turquoise monster and is new in Sesame Street! She loves the ocean, making friends, playing games, having fun and Murray the Monster! How can I do that voice, Christine? Thanks so very much!! 😊
I had a question, in the beginning you spoke about replacing certain syllables,is necessary to replace the syllables? And what if we don't? What happens then? Would be GREAT if you could reply back :)
No once you practice you will be able to change your expression and be much more natural. This is a lesson in how to learn to start. Practice makes perfect.
Hiya! Can anybody recommend me a place to buy a puppet I’m learning ventriloquism and my budget is around £100 I’m struggling to find British/uk websites to buy from can anyone help me or could you Christine help?
You spy me so much and now I’m doing it I have 3 puppets I’m about to get a new one soon I wish that I can show you but are in quarantine=( Also I got a question how many parts do you have also I got a question how many parts do you have …… here’s another question when did you start doing this what age I started when I was 11 or 12 Practice every day
Guys if this didn’t help go watch Jeff Dunham he is very good he has a lesson he really helped me now I can talk without moving my lips or opening my mouth I can literally prank people like this lol
Earnie Hard puppy is a hard word...it would be easier to say dog or little dog if you can substitute easier words instead of puppy. If you must say Puppy then try substituting so you’re really saying Tutty. Hope that helps.
Umesh Gurav you should talk as loudly as you normally would. I always talk loud, but you will probably be using a microphone for your show so normal volume
Finlay...thanks for your input. This is a lesson in learning to get started. with practice you will be able to look much more natural, but you have to learn first. like any skill...unless you are naturally gifted at it.
what pisses me off about these tutorials is that in this case, practice doesnt make perfect, i can practice saying d or th all day but they'll never sound like b or f. I need to know what im doing what, and how to correct it. its something specific your doing to change the sound in a particular way to make it sound close enough that if said quickly enough itl pass. i dont know what that is or how to do it and no one ever says what it is. so i just spend all my time pronouncing a d that sounds like a d and would never be mistaken for a b

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE FACE EXPRESSION TAKE FOR EXAMPLE, YOU ARE SAD WITH YOUR PUPPET, WOULD YOU STILL SMILE WIDE?
No once you practice you will be able to change your expression and be much more natural. This is a lesson in how to learn to start. Practice makes perfect.

Gang Grey practice

Probably, because this video: ruclips.net/video/G3yIYnBckKs/видео.html
But I can't find the episode she was on for some reason...
vaans yep
I have a female puppet house how I can do the voice
Play around with voices but make sure it doesn’t hurt your throat by being too high for you
Hard to pronounce B
How much loud voice we need to produce puppet voice. so other can hear puppet voice.
Umesh Gurav you should talk as loudly as you normally would. I always talk loud, but you will probably be using a microphone for your show so normal volume
Thank you
no, M is not a plosive. I think you meant "labial sounds" rather than "plosives".
Labial sounds are M P B F V W
Plosives are P B T D K G
AVESOME
Doodies
You have to have your mouth more closed than that lady. Don't have all of your teeth showing, that just gives it away
Finlay...thanks for your input. This is a lesson in learning to get started. with practice you will be able to look much more natural, but you have to learn first. like any skill...unless you are naturally gifted at it.
When I tell something it sounds as dunting.
why not just talk like a ventriloquist all the time?
what pisses me off about these tutorials is that in this case, practice doesnt make perfect, i can practice saying d or th all day but they'll never sound like b or f. I need to know what im doing what, and how to correct it. its something specific your doing to change the sound in a particular way to make it sound close enough that if said quickly enough itl pass.

Try flipping the consonant lighter on your tongue and pushing the vowel harder in the words with substitutions for plosives
