"Yours Is No Disgrace", "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", "And You and I". And please give the band King Crimson a listen, "In The Court of the Crimson King". Yes' drummer Bill Buford went on to play with King Crimson.
Your be lucky to find any recording of Court of the Crimson King on RUclips or another other music platform. Robert Fripp guards his work very closely - too closely imo. But it’s an amazing album. I talk to the wind and 21st Century Szchoid man are my favs. Check it out. Have heard clips of these tracks on ads, but you have to know the songs to recognise them.
Yes has been my favorite group since 1972 and I have never tired of their complex, original music. I love other groups and individual artists, but Yes is the tops, for me. This is a great song, and if you like it, you'll love "Starship Trooper" "Yours Is No Disgrace" and many other of their classic songs. Yes even has a number of longer songs that will blow your mind! This is a fun rabbit hole to go down, for sure.
The song is about achieving world peace through a chess game on the board... Lead singer: Jon Anderson One of the greatest bassists ever! R.I.P. Chris Squire
There's a great little Beatles tribute in here. Right before the transition, you can hear them singing "All we are saying, is give peace a chance" in the background.
It's great seeing someone young react to YES, I'm 24 but I grew up with YES thanks to my dad, and my musical taste was criticised so much because it was "old music", but they have such a musical presence
When the Hammond organ drops at 3:56 I get chills EVERY TIME. I love the culmination of all the sounds coming together right there. Just a masterpiece.
Divided into 2 parts when issued as a single, the first part was “Your Move” which was a fairly big radio hit. Fell in love with them after hearing this track. Jin Anderson NAILED the vocal. Damn good piece of music !
From the brilliant Yes album, from 1970. This is top tree music for me. Utterly utterly brilliant. Love prog, am now on another planet with this music. Glad you enjoyed this.
Saw Yes several times, they are amazing. I love to see people seeing the bands that I loved for so many years for the first time. As you are watching and listening, I know all the words by heart. Can't help but sing along. Once you start on this path of discovery, its really hard to stop. You really want more, and still can never get enough. Enjoy the ride!
When you think you are ready to get totally amazed as well as lost you need to do Close to the Edge and Relayer full albums. As someone else mentioned explore King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and a little known but amazing group called Renaissance. Start with Mother Russia, then go to Scheherazade and end your journey with the live version of Ashes Are Burning from Carnegie Hall. Enjoy your journeys
Some comedian had made an homage to Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first" with 60s and 70s bands. He used "Yes" "The Who" and others, but I can't remember which comedian it was.
They're not as prominent on this as on say, Roundabout--but Chris Squier (bass) and RIck Wakeman (keys) are what made this band special. Everyone of course is talented, but those two are a step above.
I know you have felt this..... "I see all good people so satisfied I am on my way." Young, fit black guy walks out the door..... "Man, I am glad that went well...." Blessings to you.
The singer did a fabulous song with Van Gelis called the friends of Mr Cairo, I'd love you to give that an earful, it's a story kind of Jimmy Cagney 30s film based.
After you listen to "Close To The Edge" you will be changed forever. Then listen to Siberian Khatru. Then listen to the Yessongs version of that song, then Yours Is No Disgrace from Yessongs
The more you hear them the more amazing they get. If you really want a head trip, listen to anything from their Going For The One album, like maybe Wondrous Stories for a mellow beautiful one, and Awaken if you want you really want to experience something unique and mind expanding.
Hi Jay, I love your reactions! I suggest you more Yes, even if it's only for yourself and won't be able to upload it (sorry about Roundabout!!); Wonderous Stories (Live at Ahoy-Halle): a sweet song and all the delicate keyboard work, and Don't Kill the Whale (Live at Empire Pool): you'll lose yourself in the sounds of a fight in the ocean. Keep enjoying these bands!! I really commend you for being brave and listen so genuinely to new styles 💖
Most of the visual concepts for the movie Avatar came from the Yes album covers, created by artist Roger Dean. There had been a law suit; not sure if it's still pending.
Yours is No Disgrace is definitely the greatest epic track on this album. All Good People is a great track, but it is essentially two different sections that I find a bit repetitive. Love Steve's rockabilly vibe though.
I felt like something was wrong listening to this. I remember the music and voices jumping back and forth in the headphones. Thats one of the things i love about this song. So I went on youtube and found other versions that had that stereo or whatever you call it. I've heard you comment on that before and think you'd appreciate it.
I discovered Yes through their track on the credits of the game Homeworld, they soon became one of my very favorite bands. Roundabout has always been my personal favorite, but they've got a gigantic catalogue. IMO their first 6 albums are the strongest, but they've stayed more or less active for 50 years at this point -- they're still touring! A few other highlights: I See You, Everydays, Heart of the Sunrise, Close to the Edge Oh, and by the way, you recognized Roundabout because it's the outro credits song in one season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, a very popular anime, and since it was the outro it got memed because it would often play as some crazy cliffhanger was happening.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING GREAT MUSIC ALIVE........ Welcome to YES...^_^ everything they recorded is worth the time to hear.....Having heard Roundabout and all good peaople... I Would suggest you might want to jump to the Going For The One album....to see how they advanced in composition and depth....... OR....just proceed in a more chronological manner ....Close To The Edge etc.........
And You and I needs to be the next one. There are better tracks yet to come: Close to the Edge, Gates of Delirium, but you need to work up to them. You haven't heard the best yet.
Loving all the different and diverse artists that you react to. Would love to hear your reaction to a UK band from the late 80s early 90s called the stone roses- I am the resurrection.
It's like he's talking about a board game of some kind, or a Chess match. "Don't surround yourself with yourself (other chess pieces)move on back two squares." I think it's just about life, but he's using the Board game as an analogy.
I'm so glad you came back to Yes! Please continue to do more songs you would love there masterpieces! Close to the Edge and Gates of Delerium off the Relayer album and of Awaken off the Going for the One Album. And you must do Turn off the Century off of Going for the One! Remember they have been around for over 50 years!
You see, we know what's coming, and that's what makes this fun! And you haven't even gotten to the Wakeman stuff yet! (Maybe you have, I don't know, but he's not on this album) Treat yourself to "Heart of The Sunrise" from the Fragile album. You want "transitions" and some of the best bass and drum work you will ever hear? Chris Squire was an absolute beast of a bass player! Can't go wrong with early Yes! This stuff was SO far ahead of it's time, along with King Crimson, ELP and others.
The first part is literally my favorite part, nothing sounds dreamier, I wish they made that part longer, the second half was nice, but it just doesn't top what I just heard a second earlier before the transition.
But the last part had all those amazing riffs and key changes by Steve, and then the heavy organ parts by Wakeman. I also like the Renaissance feel in the first part, though.
Thats one of my favs, I actually cant stand the intro/1st verse but that final break gives me goosebumps every time, once the drums kick on the last break it makes the whole song worth it lol
They harmonize so beautiful ly we had such great music back then😇🙏
"Yours Is No Disgrace", "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", "And You and I". And please give the band King Crimson a listen, "In The Court of the Crimson King". Yes' drummer Bill Buford went on to play with King Crimson.
Love And You and I by Yes
"Owner of a Lonely Heart" is sort ersatz Yes.
King Crimson...yes, indeed!
AND YOU AND I 👍👍
Your be lucky to find any recording of Court of the Crimson King on RUclips or another other music platform. Robert Fripp guards his work very closely - too closely imo. But it’s an amazing album. I talk to the wind and 21st Century Szchoid man are my favs. Check it out. Have heard clips of these tracks on ads, but you have to know the songs to recognise them.

This is a fun rabbit hole to go down, for sure.
In the background, you can hear them sing "All We Are Saying, Is Give Peace A Chance", the chorus from a John Lennon anti-war protest song.
I won a contest because I knew that.
I listened to this song for a decade before I realized what the counterpoint vocal line was there...
“Close to the edge” will blow your mind.
Maryland Eagle He might not be able to handle that one though now that he has heard some he may be ready!😀👍🏻☮️
Thank you Jay yes to some more yes loved your reaction. Owner of a lonely heart, is great song of theirs.❤️😃👍🌼✌️Love and peace
Some of the absolute best musicians bar none.
Absolutely man!
Them or early Genesis, and I am out on another planet. Superb stuff. Love this stuff so much.
Siberian Khatru is my favorite Yes song, one of their most rocking songs!
David Fisher Opening Song For their 1979 show at Madison Square Garden !👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻☮️❤️
The song is about achieving world peace through a chess game on the board...
Lead singer: Jon Anderson
One of the greatest bassists ever! R.I.P. Chris Squire
I've been saying that for years.
I've been saying that since I read that comment
@@alrivers2297 Saying what?
I think it's a love song.
You guys comments made me smile... 😊 Hope you are all doing well.
Owner of a Lonely Heart... It's one of their best.
There's a great little Beatles tribute in here. Right before the transition, you can hear them singing "All we are saying, is give peace a chance" in the background.
omg! I never heard that before.
Awesome frickin Yes.
Holy crap! I never caught that before! Makes it even more special.
Blimey- you're right!
@Richard Peters true
It's forty something years since I listened to Yes. I'm enjoying the journey with you.
I’ve been to four Yes concerts and they sounded exactly as they do on the album. Love your reaction!
Excellent Band.. Big Catalog of great Music 1960s to I would say 2000
Truly a great band
CHESS ANYONE?... WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT BAND "YES".... GREAT REACTION JAYVEE... AIM HIGH SHOOT LOW...WHEN YOU CAN GET AROUND TOO IT...✌
It's great seeing someone young react to YES, I'm 24 but I grew up with YES thanks to my dad, and my musical taste was criticised so much because it was "old music", but they have such a musical presence
When the Hammond organ drops at 3:56 I get chills EVERY TIME. I love the culmination of all the sounds coming together right there. Just a masterpiece.
Yesss I was hoping you would review more Yes. Jon Anderson (lead singer) is amazing.
Divided into 2 parts when issued as a single, the first part was “Your Move” which was a fairly big radio hit. Fell in love with them after hearing this track. Jin Anderson NAILED the vocal. Damn good piece of music !
Great review Great song Great group. I loved it in the 70's and love it today.
Thanks for reacting to this track!
Play. And you and I. One of their best
I think they also did something called 'Leave It'........a video that showed up back in the days when MTV still played music.
Keep listening to 'Yes' - there is so much fantastic material - you literally can't go wrong.
Thank You
Your reviews help me to remember and enjoy great music that I've forgotten about. How could I have forgotten this?
I suggest " Long Distance Runaround " and " Starship Trooper " by them. I enjoy your reactions.
Stevie B outstanding!
Great choices
Two good picks.
Not to mention roundabout, heart of the sunrise, and Yours is no disgrace.
From the brilliant Yes album, from 1970. This is top tree music for me. Utterly utterly brilliant. Love prog, am now on another planet with this music. Glad you enjoyed this.
Love this song. Long distance runaround is great too!!!! Luv yes
Just say YES! 😎👍
The gates of delirium by Yes is one of their most essential piece of work, as well as Close to the edge.
Big YES fan. Number one "Gates of Delirium", then "Close to the Edge", "Awaken", lots more.
Saw Yes at Bingley Hall, Staffs, England when it was newly opened. We were made to sit o the floor.
"Hold On", "changes", "shoot high aim low", "final eyes" are from their 80s albums. I'd bet you'd love all of them.
Shoot High Aim Low is a very sexy song 😀
I think that you should give 'Siberian Khatru' and 'Heart of the Sunrise' a listen. FYI, Steve's last name is pronounced 'How'.
I saw them in 1973 and much later in 2000. Listen to Starship Trooper. I bought that very album in 1970 and still have it.
Starship Trooper.......And You and I.
Some comedian had made an homage to Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first" with 60s and 70s bands. He used "Yes" "The Who" and others, but I can't remember which comedian it was.
Love Jon Anderson’s voice, so unique. Please react to Close To The Edge.
And he still sounds great today. Amazing.
They're not as prominent on this as on say, Roundabout--but Chris Squier (bass) and RIck Wakeman (keys) are what made this band special. Everyone of course is talented, but those two are a step above.
I know you have felt this..... "I see all good people so satisfied I am on my way."
Young, fit black guy walks out the door..... "Man, I am glad that went well...."
Blessings to you.
Another classic - this one is fun to sing along with!
For me, this is one of the most underrated bands ever.
The singer did a fabulous song with Van Gelis called the friends of Mr Cairo, I'd love you to give that an earful, it's a story kind of Jimmy Cagney 30s film based.
Jayvon: I'm expecting some transitions.
Members of Yes: Hold our beers.
Welcome to Prog Rock, my friend!!
Bruford was a phenomenal player. Yes got a new drummer when he went to King Crimson, but they never truly replaced him.
You will love Yes "Owner of a Lonely Heart"
Love this from my late teenager years. Certainly different, one of the new concept albums.
Back then in order to appreciate the band you had to buy the album because the radio stations wouldn't play the long songs.
I love me some YES😀
"Gates of Delirium", "Close To The Edge"
I agree 100%.
The beautiful album covers by Roger Dean. Tales from Topographic Oceans. Epic.
And You And I,try that next, the magnificent chris squire on bass.
RIP.
Saw them live in 82. Great music by fantastic musicians
All we are saying is Let's give peace a chance. You hear it more pronounced in the live version. I dig it.
I love your channel, discovering amazing music along with you. This is a symphonic rock song!
Hi Jay, I love your reactions!
I suggest you more Yes, even if it's only for yourself and won't be able to upload it (sorry about Roundabout!!);
Wonderous Stories (Live at Ahoy-Halle): a sweet song and all the delicate keyboard work, and
Don't Kill the Whale (Live at Empire Pool): you'll lose yourself in the sounds of a fight in the ocean.
Keep enjoying these bands!! I really commend you for being brave and listen so genuinely to new styles 💖
You have to listen to Wondrous Stories you have to🎶♥️
Heart of the Sunrise is another epic Yes song...
Great choice.I remember when they just gained popularity!
I had this album on my 8 track in my mini, till the tape broke For the younger ones, ask your dad what an 8 track is LOL
me too. . . . I was 13
Most of the visual concepts for the movie Avatar came from the Yes album covers, created by artist Roger Dean. There had been a law suit; not sure if it's still pending.
A combine of two songs in one!
Also, check out a band called Big Big Train, the stuff with singer David Logdon such as Hedgerow, or Telling The Bees or Victorian Brickwork.
Great reaction young man .I think you're ready ,for, close to the edge by Yes .be prepared 🤗💎👍
Simply a great sound. Good times.
Yours is No Disgrace is definitely the greatest epic track on this album.
All Good People is a great track, but it is essentially two different sections that I find a bit repetitive. Love Steve's rockabilly vibe though.
His voice... aaaaaaaah.
Most excellent!!
I know it's not the original line up of the band. But "Into the lens" from Drama is a GREAT song...
Another good one is South Side of the Sky from the Fragile album. It's worth checking out (if this one doesn't get blocked too :-) )
If you get time, check out Steve Howe's "Mood for a Day". Incredibly beautiful!
Yes was way ahead of the game for sure !!
I felt like something was wrong listening to this. I remember the music and voices jumping back and forth in the headphones. Thats one of the things i love about this song. So I went on youtube and found other versions that had that stereo or whatever you call it. I've heard you comment on that before and think you'd appreciate it.
Steve Howe's name is pronounced "how', like in "How do you do."
I'll bet this song was written on a sunny day. I think I can hear the weather.
Always loved how this song references to "Give Peace a Chance" by John Lennon (which was released a year earlier), around the 4:02 mark

Oh, and by the way, you recognized Roundabout because it's the outro credits song in one season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, a very popular anime, and since it was the outro it got memed because it would often play as some crazy cliffhanger was happening.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING GREAT MUSIC ALIVE........

They were amazing in concert.
I love this song
Great song thank you
Loving all the different and diverse artists that you react to. Would love to hear your reaction to a UK band from the late 80s early 90s called the stone roses- I am the resurrection.
Wild is the Wind David Bowie, track from the 70's!! Amazing stuff!!
"Yours is no Disgrace"
Toto “I won’t hold you back”, “Roseanna .” ❤️💛💟☮️✌️
Love "Roseanna" by Toto!
This is a primary influence for Spinal Tap
Great song
Its actually two songs, Your Move and I've Seen All Good People. Some Yes songs tended to run together.
This album was a big breakthrough for them and really showed their progressive rock skills with new guitarist Steve Howe.
Can't ever tell you, how much I love the album, this comes from. What a heck of a group.
Steve, always loved this album. Very fond of it.
You see, we know what's coming, and that's what makes this fun! And you haven't even gotten to the Wakeman stuff yet! (Maybe you have, I don't know, but he's not on this album) Treat yourself to "Heart of The Sunrise" from the Fragile album. But the last part had all those amazing riffs and key changes by Steve, and then the heavy organ parts by Wakeman. I also like the Renaissance feel in the first part, though.
"Leave It."
You're welcome.
Try "Yours is no Disgrace",even if you don't react to it,on line.
Coolest bass line ever!
Thats one of my favs, I actually cant stand the intro/1st verse but that final break gives me goosebumps every time, once the drums kick on the last break it makes the whole song worth it lol
