Received substandard pad thai from 3 different Thai restaurants !! I was going to attempt to cook for homemade Thai when you put this great dish on your channel just in time ! TanX brother !😁
@@ruru6881 Family cooking is always better than restaurant cooking, esp since many prefabricated, manufactory food ingredients in the restaurant to mix in with everything !! Not only ridiculous, but very unhealthy !! 🥶
I just made this with a few substitutions. No smoked tofu so I bought spicy garlic tofu. No Chinese chives so I used green onion, only thing I could find near me. Medium sized rice noodles, store fresh out of thin noodles. Added 3 tbsp of maple syrup instead of recommended 1 tbsp. It needed a bit more sweetness for me. Oh I also did not have a pepper so I added a squirt of Sriracha to the sauce for the spice. LOVED IT!!!!!!
I was looking for chive substitute in comments. Thanks. Planning to check honey for sweetness as I don't use maple syrup in cooking so don't have in pantry
I can't stop binge watching Yeung Man Cooking videos! My grocery list is growing... adding tamarind paste, red chillies and rice noodles. Can't wait to try this!!!
Almost didn’t want to watch because I don’t have time to cook today and I knew I was going to need to make this...but I also couldn’t resist watching 🤤 can’t wait to make this, thank you!!
I make this dish over and over again. It’s incredible and better than any Pad Thai that I’ve ever eaten from any restaurant, including the years ago before I was a vegan. Outstanding, dish, Will !
Thank you! I made it according to your directions, then revised the recipe to cut the tofu in half and double the vegetables. My Asian market didn’t have tamarind paste, so I used 1 T. of a tamarind soup pack. It tastes great.
I will cook this on saturday to surprise my partner. I've just discovered this channel and already cooked a few things and they have been mind blowing! And I love your videos, they are so calm, asthetically pleasing and easy to listen to. A bit like meditation, but with learning a new recipe along the way :)
Just cooked this Pad Thai, fabulous recipe. I switched the broccoli for red cabbage which I had in my fridge. Worked perfectly and was a real success even with my two year old grandson. Reminded us of our travels to Thailand. Definitely cooked with confidence. Thanks
Made this last week with my 12 year old grandson ,he made the sauce and helped with putting it all together ! We’re making it again tonight,is easy and delicious and we’re doubling this recipe BECAUSE Pad Thai is one of his Favorite Dishes! Thank You for such a simple and easy recipe not to mention DELICIOUS !👍👏🙏
I have followed many recipes and tried to make it veg pad Thai and I was never succeed the taste I was looking for. Yesterday I have tried your recipe and oh my god nailed it!! My husband was so impressed . Thanks for sharing your recipe to all of us 🙏🏼
Can’t wait to try this! I’ve been making your other recipe yaki udon dish weekly for months now, you’re by far my favourite chef. Time to get that book! Thanks for sharing these amazing recipes that taste unbelievably good ❤️
I check out other videos for the same dishes I will cook, and consistently I find that your (Yeung Man’s) recipes and methods and demonstrations and advice during the cooking to be the best, and the food is super delicious (even though I am not a talented cook). Thank you for your videos.
what a wonderful, quick and easy recipe. The sauce was so great. Easy yet very tasty preparation. Tried this recipe, liked it very much. From today this recipe is gonna be a very regular preparation. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Alright, alright, I'll subscribe already lol! I can't wait to make this for my wife! Edit: I made it tonight for dinner. (My family had such a fun experience shopping in an Asian market!) It does not taste like any restaurant pad thai that I have ordered, but maybe they use animal products I don't know about. If I ordered the pad thai that I made, I would not order it again. But, this was my first time doing it, and I can think of tweaks to make for my palette. It was good enough, as is, to make again at home. I bought the premade tamarind. It needs to be refrigerated after opened, and used within a month. I'll try to use it all, but I'm pretty sure I won't go through half of it. It's not a huge waste of money though, because it was only $3. I haven't watched his video on how to make tamarind, but I may go that route next, since the block will last longer. Thank you for sharing this recipe! I'm glad I made it, and it inspires me!
I did the exact same thing, and agree with everything you said. I am actually rewatching this videos about a month later because I just went grocery shopping and I need to use up what I can of this tamarind paste I opened 3 weeks ago. Haha but I watched this, got a refresh of the recipe, remembered what I want to tweak, watched a few other videos to get some other ideas too. But I think this pointed me in the right direction. We’ll see haha
Wil, you just saved my New Year's resolution to shift my diet to more Asian home cooking to get better at keto vegan for energy, strength, longevity and weight loss with great flavor and without cravings. I look forward to preparing this recipe and growing some of the ingredients so I can eliminate the meal kits. You rock!!! ^5
Pad Thai, one of my 2 favorite Thai dishes (the other: Pad See Ew) - - Be still my heart. Except when going to my local vegan Thai place for social occasions, I'll never need to order out again. Mmmm - thanks Wil !!!

I made this tonight with a few very minor tweaks and I must say congratulations to you Yeung Man! This was easily the best Pad Thai I have ever had. This is going to become a regular at my house
Looks so delicious !! Can’t wait to try this!! Pad Thai and pad se ew are my two favourite dishes... but since becoming vegan I’ve struggled to find good recipes for these two dishes in vegan. So glad that I came across this. Would you consider doing a vegan pad see ew one?
I have made this recipe many times now and it's one of my favourite dishes to make, it's delicious and my family loves it as well 😍 Thank you for your awesome videos !
Thank you for this amazing recipe. I absolutely love Phad thai but have always felt intimidated to try to cook it at home. This really looks doable and so delicious. Heading out to Seafood City soon to get needed ingredients:)
Made it yesterday!! Came out beautifully!! Thanks for sharing perfect recipe of pad Thai !! I replaced Chinese chives with Thai basil... still came out great!!
I've made this VEGGIE PAD THAI several times and really like it, however, I'd suggest 2 teaspoons (tsp) of tamarind paste rather than 2 tablespoons (Tbsp) - what do other think?
That looks delicious! I just ordered tamarind paste online since I know in the past when I looked for it in the grocery store (even the international ones) I couldn't find it except in blocks. Will be making this soon!
This is the second recipe I tried from your channel. I prepared everything before my evening sport, and just put it all together after that. It was so easy and quick to make. I exchanged the tofu with mushrooms and added a bit of peanut butter. It came out super delicious. A bit sour for my taste so I will add less lime and tamarinde next time, but I am so happy to have found your channel. Thank you so much for your recipes. 😊
Greetings from New York. You made me want to have a nice glass of wine with that beautiful jazzy music. Loved this recipe will be doing it this week. Stay well my friend.
I made it too, with a few substitutions, one tip is make a bit more sauce, I did it for two people and I had to make the sauce again so keep an eye on sauce portion. Also, for sweetness I needed a bit more than the recommended portion. For protein I just fried 4 eggs and cut that in strips and garnished with that.

Thanks for the recommend of sriracha, I literally cannot handle thai chilies heat but use sriracha all the time

Prajakta Joshi honey, coconut sugar, or turbinado (raw) sugar would all be excellent in this dish!
u@@prajaktajoshi6280 If you can, use fenugreek (also known as mehti powder) to get that "maple syrup" flavor.
I just found smoked tofu at the grocery store today. Never used it before 😊

What a perfect timing, was planning to make pad thai tonight for dinner😋
I add a little natural peanut butter at the end to make it little creamy...😋
Tried it today. Followed your cooking instructions and it came out deliciously awesome just like you described! Thank you very much!

I love how everything is so clean in your kitchen and love it how you talk.
I love how you cut broccoli...I hate it when people cut through the floret
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that lol.
I just break them off, cutting seems like waste of time. Then cut up the base stem and add it as well.
