I love it cause of the dread you can feel the fear the sadness and still no emotion at the same time honestly good music that makes me feel intrigued yet terrified
Pyramid head is just my favorite. His design, his theme, and his mysteriousness really pulls him to be my favorite character out if the silent Hill series.
This song is the scariest thing to me, it just that combo of the heavenly sounds and the scraping, something about the heavenly sounds is just absolutely terrifying to me
It's fuckin beautiful, this music totally fits his character.A fallen angel that held his grace as it rotted into some kind of blasphemous and mortified demonic essence
If the scraping sound (which is badass) was a bit lessened, I could probably sleep to this theme. I find it so beautiful. It's eerie, yet somehow ethereal, not like the sounds coming from Heaven or hell, but purgatory or limbo. If I had to put a word to this song, it would probably be hopelessness. It makes me feel the emotion of James completely letting go. Holding on to what little sanity is left, he realizes is now pointless. And he can't hold on to Maria any longer, because there's no undoing what he did. God damn, this game was awesome.
What this theme really symbolizes is one's internal guilt and remorse when that person does not invest in a 401(k) account for a stable retirement future, drowning himself in financial inadequacy.
And he did some musclework in-between! No more struggling to make one singe step with the helmet and great knife hugely burdening him. Now, he's straddling faster than a survivor's sprint!
@@origamifan5515 That’s a funny thing I like about DbD, no matter how fast you run, Trapper/Myers walks faster than you, Hillbilly limps faster, and now pyramid head drags his sword faster. But lemme tell ya, it’s terrifying.
Am I the only one who thinks Pyramid Head actually has good intentions? I mean, he saves James Sunderland from his inner demons by literally murdering them. Look at it this way - Pyramid Head is taking on the form of James Sunderlands deep anxieties (his own male oppressiveness upon Mary's femininity) as evidenced by the mannequin abuse scene. He makes an example of how James sees himself deep down with the mannequins hoping to get him to accept what he has done. He is later shown to be bulletproof in the apartment boss fight, so why on earth didn't he just mosey on over to that closet and stab James through the face? Hell, even during that boss fight he doesn't seem to making much effort to harm James... First he once more makes the example, hoping the drive the point in but evidently failing, so when it leads to a fight he is forced to do his best to seem menacing (or else James wont take it seriously, he still needs James to hate him; more on that later) without actually hurting him. So he swings his knife, missing by a several meters each time, grazing him a couple times to waste his medkits, then just wanders off when he realizes he is getting nowhere. Then Maria appears... Maria is definitely malevolent. She is James's refusal to accept the truth - he'd rather hang unto the hot version of his dead wife he'd always wished he had. After the point she is first encountered, Pyramid Head finds his target. When he goes after them in the hospital, he finds James alone; not wanting to give away his true nature, he knocks James off a building rather then just butcher or 'execute' him. Then he tracks him down WITH Maria, and notice how he is really chasing her, not James. He kills her to force James out of his hopeless blindness. He knows horrible pain is the only way to wake him up, and that he has to wake him up if James is to go on with his life and forgive himself. The first step is to make him admit what he did wrong, then let him solve it himself. So when even then James is not broken, Pyramid head appears again to kill Maria a second time in the prison. Notice how, after the apartment, Pyramid Head only really shows up when Maria is "alive." He is trying to stamp her out. Notice how conveniently everything is arranged to help James - how his videotape is just lying around, how his key was the only key in the apartment lobby, how ammo (weapons necessary to fight off his inner demons) and medkits were strewn about at random, but only in plain sight so he can find them easily... Think Pyramid Head put them there? So when everything is executed right and James learns the truth, Pyramid Head(s) confronts him at his strongest point. They kill Maria to show him one last time that he doesn't need her (and he doesn't, he whoops their asses) and then they descend and fight him. They actually try this time, because they know he is by far stronger then they are - and by fighting him they give him the competence to stand up to the monstrous Mary that waits beyond them. And when he wins, Silent Hill releases him... Its job is done, perhaps the town isn't so malevolent at all - it did, after all, take a hopeless self-loathing poor bastard grieving husband murderer and turn him into an adoptive father. As for Eddie; well, Silent Hill couldn't get through to him; he wasn't strong enough to conquer his demons and move on, so he was consumed. Same (maybe... Her 'death' was kind of questionable...) for Angela. Overall, Silent Hill doesn't strike me as so evil, it just has dark, but effective, methods.
Interesting. I would add , in my opinion, that Pyramid head is an allegory of James remorse. PH wears a heavy helmet that weight terribly on his neck (like remorse do ) , and carry a huge sword (allegory of pain) that could slice James in two in one shot but actually , don't injure him really (exactly like pain from remorse would make you feel like e.g terrible pain but no visibles wounds) . moreover PH haul his sword while making this neverending rusty" noise , just like a neverending remorse would sounds to your ears.
Yes, but is it an entity or merely a figment of his imagination? If the former is true, then I would argue it is benevolent rather then malevolent. Like I said - it never really shows any interest in harming James Sunderland, only teaching him lessons - only tearing away the one thing holding him back from forgiving himself. So maybe rather then being an entity of pure guilt, it is an entity of forgiveness - trying to get James to forgive himself. In my ending, it succeeded! :D
Peep Pyramid is The Judge (to judge your sins and force you to either 1) accept what happened or 2) not accept them, which leads to his second moniker: The Executioner. He takes the role of The Executioner when people dont accept what they have done, and since by that point they cant be saved, he kills them.
Yeah, but we never see him kill any humans. Ever. Like I said, the Pyramid Head doesn't even seem to be after James Sunderland. In the Apartments, first encounter, it stands there by the closet for a bit, before being shot at (and taking no damage whatsoever, after all, Pyramid Head is bulletproof) and leaving. Then, in its first boss-fight, its light swing attack - take a close look, its a nervous swing. Slightly off balance, not really all that menacing, it doesn't really want to hurt James Sunderland. Its massive overhead chop is meant to be menacing, but is incredibly easy to dodge on account of being so slow. If it wanted to do damage, why not take the less menacing spear? Something that is so much easier to use? Then we see it literally spare James then go after Maria in the hospital. The only time it makes any effort to really kill James Sunderland is in its final fight, when it knows for sure it cannot win.
Peep It is still The Judge at that time in my opinion. James eventually accepted his sins, causing Pyramid Head to not have to be The Executioner. By then, he was no longer needed, and probably realized it, and impaled himself on the spear.

This or something like this would work as a chase theme for Pyramid Head in Dead By Daylight because of the increasing intensity. And it definitely would fit PH more and would be scarier than what we have now
See, I agree, but here’s the thing. This theme is far too calm and slow. DbD chases are meant to get your adrenaline running, either for fleeing or chasing. This just makes the survivor feel hopeless and just not wanna run, while the killer feels remorse/lack of motivation, which DbD/the entity doesn’t want. It wants the survivors to run for dear life, and the killer to get their adrenaline going and kill the survivor by any means, so the DbD chase theme fits better, tbh. That being said, this theme is awesome, and it does fit PH.

It is a sound of *hope* in an everlasting darkness that refuses to be drowned out. Much like how Pyramid Head is the scraping, the metal, and those truly anxious sounds that can send even the most hardened individuals into despair, he is also trying to make James see the light in his dark life with this choir. He doesn’t *need* his past to drag him down. He is given a purpose, and new resolve to improve his life. The metaphors in this game, both obvious and not, are ingenious. Silent Hill’s monster designs according to their characters are just... staggeringly, hauntingly beautiful, even if I’ve never touched one of the games.

The best way I can interpret this song is learning the truth. Getting rid of what's keeping you down in life. Rising above your inner demons and coming out on top, understanding everything you need to. However, you can never escape your sins. You can't undo what has already been done. No matter what happens, your sins will never go away. However, you can survive. It won't be easy, but it will never be impossible.

I don't find them challenging (except for the puzzles) but I love the stories and characters. The first four are definitely worth a try if you're interested.
Scotty Mac If you have a PS3, you can get the first 3 games by digital download, on Xbox 360 you can get 2 and 3. What I take from this song is sadness, guilt, remorse, and relief that I am being punished by execution, and I'm being released from life's everlasting agony. No more suffering, no more pain, no more worries... death has come to release you from this travesty called life...

I think that those crys of pain in the background is a good addition to the track.
“Meeting god at the Steel-mill rn” ass track.
This song..... is beautiful...
Love this song, its friggin epic.
Beautiful monster theme I've heard so far it kinda makes Pyramid head a silent menacing hero so ugly but a beautiful heart
As a dead by daylight fan when I encountered him I did hear this theme but I’m so used to his DBD version that I heard that one over this one and started pulling off 360s on him juking his every attacks 😂😂 didn’t go down 😂
It sounded like someone is working on construction
During I hear this soundtrack, I always imagine that Pyramidhead is being exalted at the top of pyramid where he s standing (*_*)
This song makes me cry within 10 secs every damned time
What I take from this song is sadness, guilt, remorse, and relief that I am being punished by execution, and I'm being released from life's everlasting agony. No more suffering, no more pain, no more worries... death has come to release you from this travesty called life...
ow the edge
Death is only the beginning of eternal pain
@@cruelmael4178 If you believe in hell of course...but if not, there would be nothing else at death (the end of all emotion)

Hmm you mean oblivion? Alright still better if you die and realize that hell exist
What i think s funny my friend played this song for me and within 10 seconds i knew whos theme it was. O the memories i have of SH2

Best way to calm you when having a mental breakdown
Worked for me many times
You should drown in the fear and darkness before you start to cherish your life and happiness
@@Ion115 sometimes happiness isn't enough, absolute peace and unbotherness, yes that can be like that
@@somedude9828 after this peace, you'll want some happiness in the end
@@Ion115 unconditional peace and kindness, forever flowing and pouring of love, home. Then, I would already have happiness
@@somedude9828 Aww, actually, definition of happiness is different for each person. And I think it makes world more balanced.
its so...calm...peacefull...good.....happpy...
This song gave me happyness
_And now... The Entity Calls you.... Executioner..._
Lol! In my recent play through the two Pyramid heads make a noise when the try to stab James. Almost like a ninja sound. 😜
Still the spookiest music of all time
The mix of heavy machinery and heavenly sounds are unexpectedly creepy xD
Silent hill part one i played throught. It was very difficult game in that days, full of mysteries and horror stuff. Silent Hill '' The Room'' I played as I was older and I Stoped in complex art in the chaptr where you are moving the bloody metro station steps up and the monsters are coming outside of the wals at the sides and are hacking on you. The most interessting scene of ''The Room'' in the playtimespace of my gamers skill was. THIS RIPPEDOUT GENERATOR OF SOMETHING IN THE RED METROSTATION ROOM.

One of my favorite themes ever its sooo artistic
Good god, it sounds like machines being tortured.
Buen tema ....justo lo que necesitaba para dormir como un bebé.
Clever music for a clever mind!
GREAT KNIFE
Just beautiful
LEAVE US ALONE! LEAVE US BOTH THE HELL ALONE!
This is what the mind of a killer sounds like.
scary ass caracter bro
Apt, considering that the protagonist IS one.
I remember Diamond Bolt using this theme in his lists of the Scariest Sonic & Transformers moments videos.
This music is so sad
Hes here, he.......was always there
Light in Hell
Is it bad that i cant listen to this song for more than a minute?
This song made playing Bubble Witch Saga feel epic.
Both pyramid head and this song are the stuff of nightmares.
